Tell logged two solo tackles in the preseason opener but was one of two Colts cornerbacks to leave the contest early due to an injury. The 25-year-old opted out of the 2020 campaign due to COVID-19 concerns, and the severity of his groin injury isn't yet clear.

Tell opted out of the entirety of last season, and now the 2019 firth-rounder will have to gut through an injury as he attempts to make the regular-season roster. In 13 games as a rookie two years ago, he totaled 26 tackles, five pass defenses and one forced fumble.

    Tell posted 26 tackles and five pass breakups over 13 games in 2019. The rookie fifth-round pick played safety at USC but converted to corner with the Colts. He was a healthy inactive on three occasions but still managed to play 24.5 percent of defensive snaps in 2019. Tell will compete for an increased role next year, but a starting gig may be tough to win with the team's top four corners all returning.
