  • Andrus Peat: Announces retirement

Peat announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Peat was a first-round selection of the Saints in the 2015 NFL Draft and started in 102 regular-season games out of 111 played with New Orleans across nine seasons. He spent the last two seasons with the Raiders and Steelers but started only four of 21 regular-season games in which he appeared. Peat was named to the Pro Bowl three times from 2018 to 2020.

  • Steelers' Andrus Peat: Clears concussion protocol

Peat (concussion) does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Peat was sidelined for Pittsburgh's Week 15 win over Miami due to a concussion. He practiced in a limited capacity each day in preparation for Sunday's game against the Lions, but his lack of an injury designation suggests he has cleared the league's concussion protocol. Peat should start at left tackle in Week 16.

  • Steelers' Andrus Peat: Won't play Week 15

Peat (concussion) has been ruled out to face Miami on Monday Night Football. Peat suffered a concussion last Sunday against the Ravens and appears to still be in concussion protocol, as he wasn't able to practice in any capacity this week. Dylan Cook will likely start at left tackle in Peat's stead against the Dolphins.

  • Steelers' Andrus Peat: Questionable with concussion

Peat (concussion) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Dolphins, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Peat suffered a concussion against the Ravens in Week 14 and was unable to return to the game. The starting left tackle has entered the league's concussion protocol and will need to clear the five steps the league has in place to have a chance to suit up for Monday's game. The good news is that the long week gives the 11-year veteran a Saturday practice, maximizing his recovery potential before the game.

  • Saints' Andrus Peat: Injured during practice

Peat suffered a quadriceps injury during practice Monday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Peat did have to leave practice early, although the severity of the injury is still not known. The former Pro Bowler is expected to remain the team's starter at left guard, so any extended absence would certainly be a blow to the team's offensive line.

  • Saints' Andrus Peat: Back working with starters

Peat (ankle) was spotted working with the starting offensive line at the Saints' minicamp practice Tuesday, Sean Fazende of Fox 8 New Orleans reports. Peat missed the final two games of the 2022 NFL season with an ankle injury suffered Week 16, but he has since moved past the issue. The three-time Pro Bowler has started 90 games over the past eight years and should provide a major boost to the Saints' ground game in 2023 if he's able to enjoy improved health compared to a year ago.
