  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Struggles over six innings

Detmers allowed five runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Sunday.

The Athletics appear to be Detmers' bogey team this year -- he's allowed 13 runs over 11.2 innings against them over two starts. Entering Sunday, he had given up just one run over 20 innings in June. The southpaw is now at a 3.93 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 104:28 K:BB through 94 innings over 16 starts. Detmers has also notably struggled in day games, posting a 5.03 ERA across 34 innings in those contests compared to a 3.30 ERA in 60 innings in night games. His fantasy managers should brace themselves, as his next start is projected to be a home rematch versus the Athletics.

  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Keeps dealing Tuesday

Detmers (3-5) allowed three hits and struck out three without walking a batter over seven shutout innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Detmers has been dominant so far in June, allowing just one run on six hits over 20 innings across his three starts this month. He has an 18:2 K:BB in that span as well, though his three strikeouts Tuesday matched his season low. The southpaw is now at a career-best 3.68 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP and 100:24 K:BB through 88 innings over 15 starts. Detmers is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Athletics, who are responsible for his worst start of the year, an eight-run shelling over 5.2 innings in Anaheim on May 19.

  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Seven innings of one-hit ball

Detmers allowed one run on one hit and struck out nine without walking a batter in a no-decision versus the Astros on Wednesday.

Detmers was perfect through five innings before Shay Whitcomb led off the sixth with a solo shot. After a shaky May, Detmers has locked in this month, allowing just one run on three hits and two walks while striking out 15 over 13 frames in June. He's now at a 4.00 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 97:24 K:BB through 81 innings over 14 starts this season. The southpaw will look to keep things rolling in a road start versus Arizona next week.

  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Strong outing in no-decision

Detmers allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Detmers threw 58 of 91 pitches for strikes while dueling with Roki Sasaki in a low-scoring game. Over his last three starts, Detmers has allowed just four runs on eight hits and five walks while racking up 27 strikeouts across 19 innings. There's still some volatility, and playing for the Angels makes wins hard to come by. He's at a 4.26 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 88:24 K:BB through 74 innings across 13 starts this season. The southpaw's next start is projected to be at home versus the Astros.

  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Mixed results in second win

Detmers (2-5) earned the win Saturday against the Rays, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out seven.

Detmers continues to be an erratic performer for both the Angels and fantasy managers alike, as he's now issued multiple free passes and also given up at least three runs in seven of his 12 starts. On a positive note, the 26-year-old left-hander has now recorded at least seven strikeouts six times this year. Detmers does have a strong 1.18 WHIP and 82:22 K:BB over 68 innings, but his 4.63 ERA makes him a volatile fantasy option, especially since he's next ticketed for a matchup against the Dodgers.

  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Racks up 14 strikeouts

Detmers did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on a hit and no walks over eight innings against Texas. He struck out 14.

Detmers was utterly dominant, logging a season high in innings while matching Emerson Hancock for the highest single-game strikeout total in MLB this season. His lone blemish was a Jake Burger solo homer in the second inning, as otherwise Detmers carved through the Rangers' lineup while impressively issuing no walks. Though the southpaw was unable to pick up the win, Sunday marked a massive bounce-back effort after he posted a 6.33 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 21.1 innings over his previous four outings. The 26-year-old will carry a 1-5 record with a 4.57 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 75:19 K:BB across 63 innings (11 starts) into his next outing, which is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against Tampa Bay.

  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Coughs up eight runs in defeat

Detmers (1-5) allowed eight runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings in a loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.

Detmers was largely done in by a disastrous third inning, during which he gave up six runs on seven hits. To his credit, the left-hander hung around to at least prevent the Angels' bullpen from being depleted, and the final two runs on his ledger came after his departure in the sixth. Detmers also showed good swing-and-miss stuff with 19 whiffs and eight punchouts, but his ERA took a big hit and jumped from 4.20 to 5.07. He's lined up to face Texas at home in his next start.

  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Fans six in Wednesday's loss

Detmers (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks over 5.2 innings as the Angels were downed 4-2 by the Guardians. He struck out six.

A leadoff homer by Angel Martinez set the tone, but it was Detmers' inability to control Cleveland's running game with Sebastian Rivero behind the plate that proved just as costly -- the Guardians went 5-for-5 on steal attempts against the battery, with Martinez and Jose Ramirez each swiping two. Detmers was lifted after 102 pitches (60 strikes) and remains in search of his first win since April 14. He'll take a 4.38 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 53:17 K:BB through 49.1 innings into his next start, which is set to come at home early next week against the A's.

  • Angels' Reid Detmers: Wild in loss to Blue Jays

Detmers (1-3) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Friday, allowing two runs on two hits and six walks with three strikeouts over 3.2 innings.

Detmers limited the damage but lacked command from the start, throwing just 56 of 99 pitches for strikes while issuing a season-high six walks. It marked the first time he failed to complete four innings all season and snapped a streak of four straight outings working into the sixth frame or beyond. The southpaw owns a 4.33 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 47:15 K:BB across 43.2 innings and lines up for a road matchup against the Guardians next week.
