  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Posts pair of points Monday

Vilardi tallied a goal, picked up an assist and placed two shots on net in Monday's 3-1 preseason win over Colorado.

Vilardi started the preseason off strong, as he tallied the opening goal of the game before he provided the primary helper on Dylan DeMelo's score in the third period. The 27-year-old Vilardi will look to build upon an impressive 2025-26 campaign, where he compiled 30 goals, 69 points, 150 shots on net and 35 blocked shots across 82 regular-season games. He's a lock to appear in Winnipeg's top six with plenty of power-play time to open the upcoming campaign.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Poised to play Tuesday

Vejmelka is expected to start Tuesday's preseason matchup against the Kings, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.

Vejmelka posted a 38-20-3 record with two shutouts, a 2.75 GAA and an .896 save percentage over 64 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. He should see the bulk of the starts for the Mammoth again during the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Solid effort in loss

Wedgewood stopped 13 of 14 shots on net in Monday's 3-1 preseason loss against the Jets.

Wedgewood played the first 31:13 of Monday's contest, and he looked sharp outside of the lone goal he allowed to Gabriel Vilardi. The 34-year-old Wedgewood picked up where he left off last season, where he posted a 31-6-6 record, a 2.02 GAA and a .921 save percentage across 45 regular-season outings. He's poised to serve in one of the league's most effective tandems from last season alongside Mackenzie Blackwood to begin the 2026-27 season.

  • Matt Duchene C | DAL

Stars' Matt Duchene: Remains sidelined at camp

Duchene wasn't seen skating at Stars' training camp Tuesday, per Robert Tiffin of NHL.com.

After reports noted that Duchene was originally supposed to miss the first few days of camp, his absence has now extended beyond the team's first two preseason games. The 35-year-old center missed a chunk of time due to an upper-body injury during the 2025-26 season, where he posted 16 goals, 45 points and 89 shots on net across 57 regular-season outings. According to Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News, head coach Glen Gulutzan stated that Duchene will resume skating Wednesday, but he will not play in the team's preseason game. Regardless, his status will be monitored closely in the coming days with the Stars' opening night set for Oct. 2 against the St. Louis Blues.

  • Flyers' Nikita Grebenkin: Back at practice Tuesday

Grebenkin (upper body) has resumed skating at Flyers' training camp in a regular practice jersey, per Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Grebenkin was seen participating in Philadelphia's training camp for the first time since re-aggravating his upper body injury from the end of the 2025-26 season. The 23-year-old winger's return to action is encouraging for the Flyers, who frequently had him in the lineup prior to his injury. With his clearance, Grebenkin could make his preseason debut as early as Thursday against the Bruins.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Patrolling home crease

Swayman will start on the road for Tuesday's preseason contest against the Flyers.

Swayman will make his 2026-27 preseason debut Tuesday after Michael DiPietro helped guide the Bruins to a shootout win in the team's preseason opener. The 27-year-old Swayman took a big step forward last season, as he posted a 31-18-4 record, a 2.71 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 55 regular-season outings. He proved that he can handle a true starter's workload, which he will likely see in the early stages of 2026-27 as DiPietro ramps up to speed as Boston's projected new backup.

  • Blue Jackets' Luca Del Bel Belluz: Sporting non-contact jersey

Del Bel Belluz (shoulder) wore a non-contact jersey during Tuesday's practice, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

Del Bel Belluz has dealt with a shoulder stinger since last Friday, but he has still participated in recent practices. He generated one assist, 11 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and three hits in 14 appearances for Columbus during the 2025-26 regular season. He is competing for a fourth-line role with the Blue Jackets at training camp.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Tending twine Tuesday

Wolf will patrol the home crease in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Canucks, per Pat Steinberg of QR Calgary 770 AM.

Wolf will make his preseason debut Tuesday after Devin Cooley was the lone netminder to play Calgary's exhibition opener. The 25-year-old Wolf battled in the 2025-26 campaign, compiling a 23-29-3 record, a 3.01 GAA and an .899 save percentage across 57 regular-season games. He kept the Flames in countless games last season, and if the roster as a whole can take a step up in 2026-27, the young netminder could see better numbers in the upcoming campaign.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Slated to start Tuesday

Shesterkin is expected to start at home in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Islanders, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.

Head coach Mike Sullivan stated that Shesterkin will play two periods Tuesday before Spencer Martin takes over in the third. The 30-year-old Shesterkin maintained solid numbers despite the Rangers' struggles in 2025-26, as he posted a 25-19-6 record, a 2.50 GAA and a .912 save percentage across 51 regular-season appearances. He'll look to help keep the team on track in the 2026-27 campaign and is an excellent fantasy option in all formats.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Patrolling home crease

Bussi will guard the home crease in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Panthers, per Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal.

Bussi will get his first reps of preseason action Tuesday after Pyotr Kochetkov played in the team's opener. The 28-year-old Bussi was the surprise of the 2025-26 NHL season, where he posted a 31-6-2 record, a 2.47 GAA and an .894 save percentage across 39 regular-season games. He's coming off a solid postseason as well, where he anchored the Hurricanes in the final four games of the Stanley Cup. He's in line to serve as the team's top option between the pipes to open the 2026-27 campaign.
