  • Mammoth's Barrett Hayton: Signs one-year deal

Hayton (upper body) signed a one-year, $4.775 million contract with Utah on Wednesday.

Hayton had previously agreed to an offer sheet with the Devils, but the Mammoth agreed to match the deal to retain the forward's services. In 67 regular-season games last year, the Ontario native notched 10 goals and 15 assists, including six power-play points. If Hayton can stay healthy, he should be capable of getting back to being a 20-goal, 40-point producer for Utah in 2026-27.

  • Mammoth's Andrew Peeke: Heading west

Peeke signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Mammoth on Friday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Peeke had five goals, nine assists, 82 shots on net, 105 hits, 135 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 77 regular-season games with the Bruins last year. The 28-year-old defenseman will be in the mix for a depth role in Utah, but he may occasionally serve as a healthy scratch. Peeke has some value in banger leagues but has never had more than 17 points in a season, so his scoring upside is limited.

  • Mammoth's Zac Jones: Joining Utah on two-year deal

Jones signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Mammoth on Wednesday.

Jones didn't get into an NHL game while under contract with the Sabres last year. He produced a stellar 10 goals and 52 assists over 60 regular-season games with AHL Rochester in 2025-26. Jones should be considered a long shot to make the Mammoth's roster, but he could be in contention for a call-up if he remains productive offensively in the AHL in 2026-27.

  • Mammoth's Barrett Hayton: Signs offer sheet with New Jersey

Hayton (upper body) agreed to terms on an offer sheet from the Devils for a one-year, $4.775 million contract, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Wednesday.

The Mammoth have seven days to match the offer or accept a second-round pick as compensation. The 26-year-old Hayton is coming off a down year in which he had 10 goals, 15 assists, 119 shots on net, 54 PIM, 34 hits and 29 blocked shots over 67 regular-season games. He was out of the lineup for the last 10 regular-season contests and five of the Mammoth's six playoff games due to his upper-body issue. If Utah matches, Hayton is looking at a reduced role in 2026-27 after the team brought in top-six options Vincent Trocheck and Anders Lee on Wednesday.

  • Mammoth's Anders Lee: Three-year deal in Utah

Lee signed a three-year, $16.2 million contract with the Mammoth on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Lee will officially suit up for a franchise other than the Islanders for the first time in 2026-27. He produced 19 goals, 23 assists, 199 shots on net, 91 hits, 44 PIM and 37 blocked shots over 82 regular-season games in what was his last year with the Islanders. Lee has topped the 40-point mark in eight of his last 10 seasons, and he shot just 9.5 percent last year. He turns 36 years old this Friday, but there's still reason to think he can be an effective middle-six winger who also provides ample leadership on a young Mammoth squad.

  • Mammoth's Vincent Trocheck: Acquired via trade

Trocheck was traded to the Mammoth from the Rangers on Wednesday in exchange for Sean Durzi, Cole Beaudoin and a 2027 third-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Trocheck was limited to just 67 appearances in 2025-26, but he still managed to reach the 50-point threshold for the fifth straight year. The veteran forward should be a lock for a top-six role and the No. 1 power-play unit with his new club. If he can stay healthy, there is little reason to expect a drop in production from Trocheck in Salt Lake City.

  • Mammoth's Kevin Stenlund: Sticking with Utah

Stenlund signed a one-year, $2.75 million contract with the Mammoth on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Stenlund has made at least 80 regular-season appearances in three consecutive years. Across 80 regular-season games with Utah last year, he recorded four goals, 14 assists, 61 blocked shots, 43 hits and 24 PIM while averaging 14:29 of ice time. He should have the opportunity to maintain consistent playing time with the Mammoth during the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Mammoth's Sebastian Cossa: Secures two-year deal

Cossa inked a two-year, $4 million contract with the Mammoth on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Cossa was dealt from Detroit to Utah during Friday's draft in exchange for the 2026 No. 23 overall pick. The 23-year-old netminder was a first-round selection in 2021, so he should have every opportunity to be the backup to Karel Vejmelka for at least the next two seasons. However, Cossa has just one game of NHL experience, so he will likely have to earn that role during training camp in September.

  • Mammoth's Nick DeSimone: Back with Utah

DeSimone penned a two-year, $2 million contract with the Mammoth on Monday.

DeSimone appeared in 40 regular-season games with Utah in 2025-26, providing two goals, eight points, 31 blocks and a plus-4 rating. The 31-year-old will probably start the 2026-27 campaign as the team's seventh defenseman.

  • Mammoth's Joshua Roy: Inks two-way deal

Roy signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Mammoth on Monday.

After making NHL appearances for the Canadiens in each of the past three seasons, Roy was traded to Utah from Montreal earlier Monday. He was able to reach an agreement with his new team a few hours later, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him split time between the AHL and NHL under his two-way deal during the 2026-27 campaign. Across 57 regular-season appearances with AHL Laval last year, Roy recorded 23 goals, 22 assists and 32 PIM.

  • Mammoth's Kailer Yamamoto: Lands two-year contract with Utah

Yamamoto signed a two-year, $3.5 million contract with the Mammoth on Monday.

Yamamoto spent the past two seasons with the Mammoth, most recently recording 13 goals, 10 assists, 47 hits, 20 blocked shots and 14 PIM while averaging 11:48 of ice time across 59 regular-season appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. He was slated to become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday but instead reached an agreement that keeps him under contract with Utah for two more seasons.

  • Mammoth's Joshua Roy: Obtained in trade

Utah acquired Roy from Montreal on Monday in exchange for Maksymilian Szuber, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Roy notched 23 goals and 45 points in 57 appearances for AHL Laval during the 2025-26 regular season. The 22-year-old forward has six goals and 11 points in 38 career NHL regular-season outings. Roy is a pending restricted free agent, and he isn't eligible to file for arbitration.

  • Mammoth's Adam Valentini: Final pick of Round 3

Valentini was the 96th overall pick by Utah in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.

A native of Toronto, Valentini has been on the map as a potential top draft prospect for multiple years. He arrived at the University of Michigan this past season and was an immediate contributor for the Wolverines, posting 27 points in 40 games. Valentini has speed, a decent amount of skill, and has consistently displayed the ability to defend, which is a very positive sign for such a young player. The lack of size (5-foot-10, 190 pounds) is a concern, but Valentini is hard to knock off the puck, and he battles. He has the look of a well-rounded future middle-six contributor who is probably looking at three years in college.

  • Mammoth's Sebastian Cossa: Shipped to Utah via trade

Cossa was dealt to Utah from Detroit on Friday in exchange for the No. 23 overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Originally the No. 15 overall pick by the Red Wings in 2021, Cossa has one NHL game under his belt, with that coming back in the 2024-25 campaign. He is coming off a season with AHL Grand Rapids in which Cossa posted a 26-8-4 record along with a 2.33 GAA and .915 save percentage. Mammoth starter Karel Vejmelka appeared in an NHL-high 64 games a year ago, and Vitek Vanecek is a pending unrestricted free agent, so the 23-year-old Cossa should be considered the favorite for the backup job in Utah this coming season.

  • Mammoth's Ethan Belchetz: Beast sniper off draft board at 17

Belchetz was the 17th overall pick by Utah in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.

Belchetz is a beast -- he was 6-foot-5 and more than 220 pounds at 16 years old. He's a great sniper, both from in tight and from range, but his feet are slow. That's almost always the knock on big guys. But skating is no longer an untrainable anchor, so we're confident he can get to NHL average with focused work. Belchetz could be the next Matthew Knies or Aliaksei Protas if the stars all align. Knies is an all-around guy whose skill puts him on the top line, and his power-play value bumps up his game. Protas is a guy who (so far) has done extreme damage on the second line at 5v5. Both are strong fantasy fits, depending on format. Belchetz will continue to develop his game with Michigan State in the NCAA, and good health should deliver a strong D1 season.

  • Mammoth's Vadim Moroz: Inks entry-level deal

Moroz signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Utah on Sunday, per NHL player agent Dan Milstein.

During the 2025-26 campaign with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL, Moroz produced 14 goals and 29 points in 54 regular-season games before adding one goal and one assist in eight playoff outings. The 22-year-old winger was the No. 88 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

  • Mammoth's Gregor Biber: Grabs entry-level deal

Biber agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with Utah on Thursday.

Biber was selected by the Mammoth in the fourth round of the 2024 NHL Draft. In 38 regular-season games this year, the 19-year-old defenseman notched one goal and one assist before being held off the scoresheet in 15 playoff games. Given his limited offensive upside, Biber is unlikely to be much of a fantasy target even if he makes it to the NHL.

  • Mammoth's Gabe Smith: Adds another three points

Smith scored a goal and added two assists in QMJHL Moncton's 7-6 loss to Chicoutimi in Game 5 on Friday.

Smith is up to nine points in five games during this series. The Mammoth prospect leads the QMJHL playoffs with 19 goals and 33 points in 20 appearances. Despite his strong performance, Moncton is now in must-win territory, as it trails the series 3-2 following this high-scoring loss.

  • Mammoth's Gabe Smith: Earns three points in win

Smith scored twice and added an assist in QMJHL Moncton's 4-3 win over Chicoutimi in Game 4 on Wednesday.

Smith has earned six points over four appearances in the QMJHL Finals, with his effort in this win tying the best-of-seven series at 2-2. The 19-year-old forward has made quite the impression this postseason with 18 goals and 30 points over 19 outings. He'll have at least two more games to add to his totals.
