Hurricanes' Alexander Nikishin: Bags apple in Game 5 win
Nikishin logged an assist, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Nikishin got on the scoresheet for the first time this postseason with the helper on Logan Stankoven's first-period tally. Through 11 outings, Nikishin has added eight shots on net, 14 hits, seven blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. The 24-year-old defenseman has mostly played sheltered minutes on the third pairing throughout the postseason. Nikishin managed 58 seconds of power-play ice time in Game 5, which marked the first time he's skated with the man advantage since Game 3 versus the Flyers in the second round.

Hurricanes' Eric Robinson: Tallies in series-clinching win
Robinson scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Robinson couldn't buy a goal early in the postseason, but he came away with three of them in five games against the Canadiens. The 30-year-old winger has a total of six points, 20 shots, 30 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 13 playoff outings. He's locked in as a reliable depth forward on the fourth line.

Andersen stopped 23 of 24 shots in Friday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Andersen was working on a second straight shutout, but Cole Caufield spoiled it midway through the third period. After allowing five goals in Game 1, Andersen gave up just five more tallies over the next four contests to send the Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 2006. The 36-year-old has a 12-1 record with a 1.41 GAA and a .931 save percentage over 13 playoff outings. Andersen is poised to continue in the starting role as the Hurricanes face the Golden Knights, which begins with Game 1 on Tuesday in Raleigh.

Staal scored a goal and added five hits in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Staal ended a four-game point drought with the tally. The center has two goals, three assists, 16 shots, 61 hits, 11 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 12 playoff contests. Staal continues to play in a middle-six role, and while he's not setting the tone on offense, he's adding plenty of physicality and defensive work to keep the Hurricanes' structure in place.
