Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Signs one-year deal
Malkin agreed to terms on a one-year, $5.5 million contract with Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Malkin will be back for another year after inking a fresh one-year contract ahead of free agency opening July 1. The veteran center returns following a bounce-back year in which he generated 19 goals and 42 assists in 56 regular-season tilts. His potential for a regression year, especially considering he'll be 40 before the start of the 2026-27 campaign, will make him a risky option in season-long formats.

Penguins' Rafael Harvey-Pinard: Pots pair in series-clinching win
Harvey-Pinard scored twice in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 8-1 win over Springfield in Game 5 on Saturday.
Harvey-Pinard has battled an injury this postseason, and this was his first game back after sitting out the last five games. He's earned a total of three points, 11 shots and a plus-3 rating over four playoff contests.

Penguins' Ville Koivunen: Earns three points Saturday
Koivunen scored twice and added an assist in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 8-1 win over Springfield in Game 5 on Saturday.
Koivunen hadn't earned a point in the first four games of the series. He broke out to get WBS to the Eastern Conference Finals with a 3-2 series win. Koivunen has produced three goals and four assists across nine playoff contests this year.

Penguins' Tristan Broz: Two of each in AHL win
Broz scored twice and added two assists in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 8-1 win over Springfield in Game 5 on Saturday.
Broz picked a good time for his second multi-point effort of the postseason, sending WBS through to the Eastern Conference Finals with this win. He's earned three goals, six assists and a plus-4 rating over nine playoff contests. Broz should continue to offer scoring upside for the minor-league club heading into the next round.

Penguins' Peyton Kettles: Returning to action at Memorial Cup
Kettles is in the lineup for WHL Kelowna in its Memorial Cup game versus OHL Kitchener on Friday.
Kettles underwent shoulder surgery in November and missed six months of action, which was on the short end of his expected recovery timeline. The 18-year-old defenseman will get some high-quality action during the Memorial Cup for at least three games to close out the year. Given the time he missed, he'll likely be back in the WHL in 2026-27, as he signed his entry-level contract in November shortly after his shoulder procedure.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Earns shutout in AHL win
Murashov recorded a 24-save shutout in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 2-0 win over Springfield in Game 1 on Tuesday.
Murashov earned the first playoff shutout of his AHL career. He's gone 4-1 with a 1.59 GAA and a .947 save percentage over five playoff games. Murashov will continue to backstop WBS during the club's postseason run, in preparation for the 22-year-old getting a chance to claim a full-time NHL job in 2026-27.

Penguins' Ilya Solovyov: Inks one-year extension
Solovyov signed a one-year, $850,000 contract extension with Pittsburgh on Thursday.
After Solovyov was acquired by the Penguins in a trade with Colorado, he logged 14 regular-season games for the club in which he notched five assists, 16 hits and 14 blocks while averaging 14:06 of ice time. It's a low-risk deal for the Penguins, one that figures to primarily bolster their defensive depth, with Solovoyv unlikely to be a regular on the blue line for the club this upcoming season.

Penguins' Connor Dewar: Secures two-year extension
Dewar agreed to terms on a two-year, $4.5 million contract extension with Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Dewar -- who was set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason -- is coming off a career year in which he set new personal bests in goals (14), assists (16) and shots (110) in 78 regular-season contests. While the offensive production was no doubt a bonus for the club, he was also its top penalty killer in 2025-26, logging a team-high 209:23 of shorthanded ice time.

Penguins' Tristan Broz: Three helpers in win
Broz notched three assists in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-3 overtime win over Hershey in Game 3 on Tuesday.
Broz got on the scoresheet for the first time this postseason with this performance. The forward logged 39 points over 47 regular-season appearances in the AHL and also made his NHL debut back in November. Broz will likely be in contention for more NHL minutes in 2026-27, but he'll probably need more time with the farm team as well.

Penguins' Joel Blomqvist: Returned to minors
Blomqvist was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
With the Penguins eliminated from the playoffs, there is no reason to keep Blomqvist on the NHL roster. Having said that, even with the Baby Pens, the backstop figures to serve as the No. 2 option behind Sergei Murashov. In 26 minor-league outings this season, Blomqvist is 16-5-4 with a .913 save percentage and one shutout.

Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Heartbreaking OT loss in Game 6
Silovs made 31 saves Wednesday in the Penguins' 1-0 overtime loss to the Flyers in Game 6 of their first-round series.
The 25-year-old netminder did everything he could to force a Game 7 and keep Pittsburgh's campaign alive, but Cam York snapped a shot through traffic that glanced off the post and into the net with about two and a half minutes left in the first extra period, ending Silovs' goaltending duel with Dan Vladar. Silovs had an up-and-down regular season, but he shone after replacing Stuart Skinner between the pipes in the playoffs, allowing five goals on 82 shots (.939 save percentage) over three starts. Both goalies are free agents this offseason -- Skinner unrestricted and Silovs an RFA -- but with prospect Sergei Murashov potentially ready to make the leap to the NHL on a full-time basis in 2026-27, it's not clear if either veteran will be back in Pittsburgh next season.

Penguins' Joel Blomqvist: Called up Wednesday
Blomqvist was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
Blomqvist will serve as the Penguins' No. 3 option in Game 6 on Wednesday. As such, the 24-year-old backstop shouldn't be expected to actually get into the game. Looking ahead to 2026-27, Blomqvist will need a strong training camp to earn a spot on the NHL roster for Opening Night.

Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Between pipes for Game 6
Silovs will tend the twine on the road against the Flyers in Game 6 on Wednesday, Sportsnet's Dan Potash reports.
Silovs has given up four goals on 50 shots (.920 save percentage) in two wins this postseason. The 25-year-old has become the No. 1 option between the pipes for head coach Dan Muse after Stuart Skinner went 0-3 in the first three games of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Skinner surrendered nine goals on 71 shots.
