Islanders' Ryan Pulock: Expected to be ready for camp
Pulock had offseason shoulder surgery but should be ready for training camp in September, according to Ethan Sears of the New York Post on May 8.
Pulock had three goals, 27 points, 93 shots on net and 148 blocked shots across 76 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. He played through shoulder and knee issues for most of the year, but it appears as though he will be ready for the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Islanders' Alexander Romanov: Good to go for 2026-27
Romanov has recovered from shoulder surgery and will be ready for training camp in September, according to Jon Lane of NHL.com.
Romanov played in just 15 games in his fourth year with the Islanders in 2025-26, missing a large portion of the season after being hit from behind by Mikko Rantanen during a game in Dallas in November. The 26-year-old Romanov practiced with contact toward the end of last season, so he should have no restrictions for the start of the 2026-27 campaign. The 2018 second-round pick will slot in on one of the bottom two pairings, rounding out the left side of the Islanders' blue line with Adam Pelech, behind unquestioned No. 1 defenseman Matthew Schaefer. Romanov will likely also receive work with the penalty kill this coming season.

Islanders' Victor Eklund: In mix for roster spot
Eklund will be given every opportunity at securing an Opening Night roster spot, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports Tuesday.
Eklund saw action in just one NHL game last year in which he registered one assist, two shots and two hits while logging 15:30 of ice time. If the 19-year-old winger does make the NHL roster, he still could be sent back to juniors before reaching the nine-game threshold. While Eklund may be a riskier option in re-draft formats, he is a must-have piece in dynasty contests.

Islanders' Alex Jefferies: Agrees to two-way deal
Jefferies signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Friday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Jefferies was set to have an arbitration hearing, but now that's not needed. The 24-year-old had nine goals, 29 points and 46 PIM in 60 regular-season appearances with AHL Bridgeport in 2025-26. He hasn't made his NHL debut and is expected to begin the upcoming campaign in the minors.

Islanders' Joey Larson: Agrees to two-year deal
Larson signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Wednesday.
Larson had 17 goals and 28 points in 63 regular-season outings with AHL Bridgeport in 2025-26. He hasn't made his NHL debut and is expected to begin the upcoming campaign in the minors.

Islanders' Henrik Tikkanen: Secures one-year deal
Tikkanen agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Friday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Tikkanen saw action in 29 regular-season games for AHL Bridgeport last year in which he posted a 17-9-1 record, .897 save percentage and 2.65 GAA. Selected by the club in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft, the 25-year-old backstop will likely have to split the net with Joshua Kotai in the minors and is unlikely to appear in an NHL game.

Islanders' Malte Gustafsson: Secures entry-level deal
Gustafsson agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract Tuesday.
Gustafsson was selected by the club with the 13th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old blueliner spent the 2025-26 campaign in his native Sweden with HV71, generating three assists in 27 contests. The towering defenseman figures to spend at least another year developing overseas before making the jump to North America, though he should be in attendance for training camp in the fall.

Islanders' Matt Luff: Signs two-way agreement
Luff signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Wednesday.
Luff was traded to the Islanders from the Blues in February, and he'll remain on Long Island for the 2026-27 campaign. Across 62 regular-season AHL appearances between Springfield and Bridgeport in 2025-26, he recorded 18 goals, 34 assists and 31 PIM.

Islanders' Mitchell Chaffee: Inks one-year deal
Chaffee signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Islanders on Wednesday.
Chaffee logged a mere 11 games for the Lightning last season, producing one assist, 29 hits and nine shots while averaging 9:34 of ice time. While the 28-year-old winger should get a look during training camp, he'll face an uphill battle in securing a full-time NHL roster spot with the Islanders and could spend time in the minors.

Islanders' Matt Kessel: Agrees to one-year deal
Kessel signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Islanders on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Kessel had a consistent role with the Blues in the past two campaigns. He recorded two goals, an assist, 26 blocked shots, 22 hits and 10 PIM while averaging 12:32 of ice time across 29 regular-season appearances last year, production that was nearly identical to the 2024-25 campaign. He'll have the opportunity to compete for a role with the Islanders on a one-way contract for the 2026-27 season.

Islanders' Matias Maccelli: Signs one-year contract
Maccelli signed a one-year, $2.25 million contract with the Islanders on Wednesday, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Maccelli became an unrestricted free agent after Toronto declined to present him with a qualifying offer before Monday's deadline. He had 14 goals and 39 points in 71 appearances with the Maple Leafs in 2025-26. Maccelli hasn't managed to recapture the success he enjoyed in the 2023-24 regular season when he finished with 57 points, but he's still just 25 years old, so there's still a fair chance he bounces back. Maccelli is likely to begin 2026-27 in a middle-six role.

Islanders' Vitek Vanecek: Lands one-year contract
Vanecek signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Islanders on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Vanecek made a career-low 22 regular-season appearances with the Mammoth during the 2025-26 campaign, going 5-13-3 with a 2.94 GAA and .883 save percentage. If Semyon Varlamov (knee) returns to full health ahead of the 2026-27 season, Vanecek should compete for No. 2 goaltending duties with him behind Ilya Sorokin.

Islanders' Ryan Healey: Acquired from Wild
Healey was traded to the Islanders from the Wild on Saturday in exchange for future considerations.
Healey was a 2022 fourth-round pick of Minnesota. He has completed four years of collegiate eligibility, all with Harvard, where he amassed a total of 19 goals and 36 assists over 130 games. The Islanders presumably have interest in signing Healey to an entry-level deal -- his signing rights expire Aug. 15.

Islanders' Vladimir Dravecky: Depth add for Isles in Round 5
Dravecky was the 141st overall pick by the Islanders in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Dravecky was born in New Hampshire while his father -- who still plays professionally back home -- was playing in the AHL in the Kings' system. The son spent last year in Sweden before moving to the OHL to join a loaded Brantford team this past season. He finished with 28 points in 58 games and had his role reduced throughout the course of the year, through no fault of his own. Dravecky also played for Czechia at the World Juniors. At 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, he's an undersized offensive defenseman. He skates fine, although like many smaller rearguards, Dravecky's play in his own zone needs work. He's a candidate to take a significant step forward next season from a production standpoint, while his role on the international circuit also figures to grow considerably.

Islanders' Malte Gustafsson: Intimidating defender drafted 13th
Gustafsson was the 13th overall pick by the Islanders in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.
Gustafsson is a massive, mobile defender who is going to stop a lot of NHL forwards for at least 12-15 years. He's already held his own against men in the SHL as a 17-year-old because his gap control is elite -- his D-zone instincts are NHL-ready right now. Does he have offensive skills? Yes, but Gustafsson projects as the ultimate, hard-to-play-against shutdown guy who gets secondary assists because he controls exits so well. He's going to be a mean number two alongside Matthew Schaefer. And get a few points, simply by osmosis.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Secures two-year extension
DeAngelo agreed to terms on a two-year, $9 million contract extension with the Islanders on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
DeAngelo is coming off a bit of a bounce-back campaign in 2025-26, reaching the 35-point threshold for the first time since 2022-23, when he was with Philadelphia. The 30-year-old blueliner has struggled to produce with the man advantage, failing to even get 10 power-play points in any of the last three seasons. If DeAngelo can improve that aspect of his game, he should be capable of putting up 40-plus points.

Islanders' Ethan Bear: Re-ups with club
Bear agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Monday.
Bear has spent the last two seasons playing exclusively in the AHL, having last appeared in an NHL game back in 2023-24 when he was with Washington. With Bridgeport in 2025-26, the 28-year-old blueliner notched four goals and 23 assists in 40 regular-season contests. If he can earn a call-up from the Isles in 2026-27, Bear should be capable of offering decent upside, considering he has 67 points in 275 career regular-season games.
