Blue Jackets' James Malatesta: Agrees to one-year contract
Malatesta signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blue Jackets on Friday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.
Malatesta had 10 goals, 18 points and 87 PIM in 57 regular-season outings with AHL Cleveland in 2025-26. He didn't play at the top level in 2025-26, but the 23-year-old has recorded two goals and four points in 13 career regular-season NHL games.

Blue Jackets' Stanislav Svozil: Headed overseas
Svozil agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Czech club HC Kometa Brno on Wednesday, per Honza Zoufal of Elite Prospects.
Svozil is a restricted free agent this offseason, so the Blue Jackets could still give him a qualifying offer to retain his NHL rights. Still, the 23-year-old defenseman looks set to continue his career overseas after spending the last three seasons with AHL Cleveland. Before making the jump to North America, Svozil played for Brno in 2020-21.

Blue Jackets' Zach Sawchenko: Earns shutout in AHL win
Sawchenko posted a 16-save shutout in AHL Cleveland's 4-0 win over Toronto in Game 3 on Wednesday.
Sawchenko wasn't particularly busy in this outing. He's now 5-1 over six games this postseason, adding a 1.58 GAA and a .932 save percentage. That's a vast improvement on his 3.05 GAA and .880 save percentage from 29 regular-season contests, in which he went 14-10-3 and failed to record a shutout. With one more win, Cleveland will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Blue Jackets' Charlie Coyle: Grabs six-year deal
Coyle agreed to terms on a six-year, $36 million contract with Columbus on Tuesday.
Coyle played in all 82 regular-season games for the Jackets this year, racking up 20 goals and 38 helpers. With the 34-year-old center putting pen to paper on a six-year deal, this figures to be the final contract of his career, keeping him with the Jackets long term.

Blue Jackets' Guillaume Richard: Pots pair in AHL win
Richard scored twice in AHL Cleveland's 4-3 overtime win over Syracuse in Game 3 on Friday.
Richard picked up his first points of the postseason with this effort to give the Monsters a 2-1 series lead in the North Division semifinals. He had seven goals and 18 points over 70 regular-season outings. The defenseman hasn't shown a lot of offense in the AHL yet, so he's likely a few years away from competing for NHL minutes.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Could have played in postseason
Olivier (upper body) told reporters Thursday he would have been ready for Game 1 of the playoffs, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Olivier also mentioned that he might have tried to suit up in the regular-season finale had a spot in the playoffs been on the line. Overall, the 29-year-old winger played in 61 games this year, which stopped him from being able to produce a second straight 30-plus point campaign. If he can stay healthy in 2026-27, 20 goals and 40 points are both achievable thresholds.

Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Scores lone goal in loss
Jenner scored a goal on four shots and blocked three shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Capitals.
Jenner has three points over his last three games, his longest streak since he got on the scoresheet in four straight contests from Dec. 29 to Jan. 4. The 32-year-old had another steady campaign with 13 goals, 25 assists, 132 shots on net, 147 hits, 66 blocked shots and 44 PIM across 67 appearances. He is poised to be an unrestricted free agent in the summer if he doesn't reach an extension with the Blue Jackets.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Falls to Caps in finale
Greaves made 19 saves in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Washington.
He didn't get enough support to pick up a win in the season finale, but Greaves heads into the offseason as the clear top option in the Columbus crease. Over 55 outings, Greaves posted a 26-19-9 record with a 2.60 GAA and .908 save percentage. Greaves becomes a restricted free agent in the summer, and the Blue Jackets could make a strong push to lock the 25-year-old netminder up on a long-term deal.
