Settle is testing his strained calf Wednesday to see if he can be cleared to return to practice Thursday, Ben Standig of Big 100 Washington D.C. reports.

Settle has been sidelined for about a week due to the calf issue, but it seems like there's a chance he could get back into action soon. For now, whether he'll be available for Saturday's preseason contest at Detroit is still up in the air.

The Jaguars acquired Faalele from the Giants on Wednesday in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round selection.

Faalele signed with the Giants on a one-year deal in April, following coach John Harbaugh as he transitioned from the Ravens. The offensive guard has now been dealt to the Jaguars, who likely picked up Faalele as a replacement for Patrick Mekari (back) while he recovers from his back surgery. Faalele, a 2022 fourth-round pick, has appeared in 66 regular-season games, starting in 35 of those contests.

Magee suffered a shoulder injury during Friday's preseason opener against the Dolphins, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Magee is set to be held out of practice for a week, but the issue does not appear to be cause for long-term concern. With the linebacker set to miss Saturday's preseason contest with the Lions, Kain Medrano or Krys Barnes could see a large share of defensive reps.

Newton suffered a pectoral injury during last Friday's preseason opener against the Dolphins, Ben Standig of Big 100 Washington D.C. reports.

Newton has now missed consecutive sessions due to the issue. The defensive tackle's return timeline remains unclear, but it is seeming like a long-term problem. If Newton cannot return to the field soon, Shy Tuttle and Ricky Barber will likely see a greater share of opportunities in Saturday's preseason contest against the Lions.

Williams (undisclosed) reverted to the Rams' injured reserve list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The Rams waived Williams with an injury designation Tuesday. The wide receiver cleared waivers and will now spend the entirety of the 2026 regular season on injured reserve unless he is waived with an injury settlement. Williams' departure makes room for wide receiver Alex Bachman, who was signed to the Rams' roster Tuesday.

The Falcons placed Sermon (undisclosed) on injured reserve Wednesday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.

Sermon signed with the Falcons in early August. The running back's unknown injury has earned him a spot on the season-ending IR, and he will be unable to participate in 2026 unless he is waived with an injury settlement. With two weeks of preseason remaining, the Falcons will likely look into signing another running back prospect for depth.

Washington released Cracraft (undisclosed) from its injured reserve list with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Cracraft was going to have to sit out the whole 2026 campaign after being placed on IR Tuesday, but he'll now become a free agent instead. In two games with the Commanders in 2025, he played a combined seven snaps on offense and did not draw any targets.

The Dolphins released Gonzalez (undisclosed) with an injury settlement Wednesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

Gonzalez was placed on the Dolphins' injured reserve list in early August due to an undisclosed issue. The kicker did not wish to be tied up on IR for the entirety of the 2026 season and, as such, has negotiated his release with an injury settlement. Gonzalez is now a free agent and is able to sign with any franchise once he regains his health.

The Chargers waived Grimm (undisclosed) with an injury designation Wednesday.

It's not exactly clear what happened to Grimm, but unless he's picked up by another club off of waivers, he'll be in line to spend the entire 2026 season on the Chargers' injured reserve list. In a corresponding transaction, the Chargers signed wide receiver Liam Clifford.

Lance (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday and worked with the first-team offense in New Orleans' joint practice with Dallas, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

With Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) out several weeks and Devaughn Vele receiving a rest day Tuesday, the rookie Lance worked opposite Chris Olave as the Saints' WR2. While Vele is the favorite to open the regular season as the second wideout, Lance has a pretty clear path to early-season playing time while Tyson is sidelined. At 6-foot-3 and 204 pounds with 4.34 speed, Lance is a size-speed prospect who produced back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at North Dakota State before being selected in the fourth round of the 2026 Draft by New Orleans.
