  • Maurice Alexander: Sent to waivers by Bears

    Chicago waived Alexander on Tuesday.

Alexander boasts familiarity with Bears coach Ben Johnson's offensive scheme, as he spent the last three seasons with Detroit, but that won't be enough to earn a spot on the initial 53-man roster. It could make Alexander a leading candidate to resurface on the practice squad, though.

  • Coleman Owen WR | IND

    Coleman Owen: Cut by Indianapolis

The Colts waived Owen on Tuesday, Amanda Foster of the team's official site reports.

Owen signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent in May and entered training camp competing for a depth spot at wide receiver. He led all Colts receivers in catches (13) and targets (16) while finishing second in yards (124) with a touchdown across three preseason games, but it wasn't enough for the Ohio product to crack the team's 53-man roster. Still, Owen showed enough during training camp and the preseason to garner interest from teams looking to add wide receiver depth through the waiver wire. If he clears waivers, Owen would be a candidate to return to the Colts as a member of the practice squad.

  • Stephen Carlson: Released by Bears

    Chicago released Carlson on Tuesday.

Carlson is healthy after having missed all of the 2024 season due to a collarbone injury, but he's now among a number of cuts made by the Bears to get down to a 53-man roster. The 28-year-old will likely look to resurface on a practice squad, whether with the Bears or elsewhere in the league.

  • Miles Boykin WR | CHI

Miles Boykin: Let go by Chicago

The Bears released Boykin on Tuesday.

Boykin put together a strong training camp and preseason with Chicago, but he was always facing an uphill battle to earn a spot on the 53-man roster due to the team's depth at wide receiver. He'll be a candidate to end up on the Bears' practice squad.

  • Kevin Harris RB | JAC

Kevin Harris: Let go on cutdown day

The Jaguars waived Harris on Tuesday.

Harris signed with Jacksonville on Aug. 19 and played in the team's final preseason game, recording 25 yards on seven carries along with 17 yards on three catches. His most recent regular-season action came in 2023, when he played in four contests with the Patriots and logged 16 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown along with three catches on three targets for 58 yards.

  • Travis Homer RB | CHI

Bears' Travis Homer: Out minimum of four games

The Bears placed Homer (calf) on IR on Tuesday, ruling him out for at least the first four games of the regular season.

Homer will miss the first four games of the regular season, at a minimum, due to a calf injury sustained during Chicago's preseason opener against Miami. Once fully recovered, Homer will figure to return as a depth option behind D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson (foot).

  • Maximilian Mang: Fails to make Indy's roster

The Colts waived Mang on Tuesday, Amanda Foster of the team's official site reports.

Mang didn't see a target across two preseason games, and the undrafted rookie out of Syracuse will now go on waivers. Assuming he goes unclaimed, Mang will look to catch on with a team in need of depth at tight end.

  • Chandler Brayboy: Doesn't make initial roster

The Jaguars waived Brayboy on Tuesday.

Brayboy inked a deal with Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in late April and appeared in all three of the team's preseason contests, but he didn't catch any of his four targets. The 24-year-old was added to the CFL's Edmonton Elks' negotiation list Tuesday.

  • Tyler Kahmann WR | IND

    Tyler Kahmann: Doesn't make cut

Indianapolis waived Kahmann on Tuesday, Amanda Foster of the Colts' official site reports.

The undrafted rookie played in all three of the Colts' preseason games, finishing with two catches (on four targets) for eight yards. Kahmann will have an opportunity to sign with another team assuming he clears waivers, and he'll to catch on with a practice squad in need of depth at wide receiver.

  • Traeshon Holden: Let go by Cowboys

    Dallas waived Holden on Tuesday.

Holden went undrafted out of Oregon back in April, and despite spending the entire offseason with the Cowboys he couldn't secure a role on the 53-man roster. He'll now likely need to search for a role on a practice squad for his next NFL opportunity, whether with Dallas or elsewhere.
