Skattebo will be one of Fantasy's most polarizing players. Expect him to get taken within the first 50 picks (if not 40 picks) in every draft. That's because for every manager scared to trust Skattebo coming off a major injury (fibula fracture and ligament rupture), there will be someone who hopes he can replicate the 19.1 PPR points per game he delivered in six games as the lead Giants RB last season. And based on the Giants' offseason moves, the new coaching staff seems to believe in Skattebo since the team didn't add any running backs to the roster until August (but did add a big offensive lineman in rookie Francis Mauigoa). Coach John Harbaugh is a devout run-game fanatic, and Skattebo was a full-go for team drills at the start of training camp and the first running back to get a snap with Jaxson Dart in the preseason debut. However, after impressing as a receiver and third-down option as a rookie, Skattebo has not operated in this role to start camp or in the preseason yet. Also, the Giants signed Najee Harris. If Harris carves out a role on the roster, specifically mixing into the red zone, it could cap Skattebo's Fantasy value. On upside alone, if you believe in him, targeting Skattebo with a Round 4 pick, then doubling down on the Giants' run game and grabbing teammate Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the double-digit rounds could be the ticket.
Skattebo gained more competition for snaps and touches Tuesday when the Giants signed Najee Harris, as reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
New York already seemed to be leaning toward a backfield committee with Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary all working with the offensive starters during the team's preseason opener last Saturday, but Harris potentially adds another running back to the mix once he proves he's fully recovered from an Achilles tear. Skattebo remains at the top of the depth chart, but given his own health concerns after his rookie season was cut short by an ankle injury that required surgery, his workload could be scaled back from 20.8 touches per game he averaged in the five weeks before getting hurt.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Starts preseason game, takes four carries
Rotowire
Skattebo started Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, taking four carries for 19 yards over the first two drives.
Tyrone Tracy lined up with the starters in warmups, but Skattebo got the nod come game time and took two carries for seven yards on the first two snaps. Tracy then had a carry and a target (for no gain) later on the opening drive, which ended when his missed block got QB Jaxson Dart thrown to the turf. Dart returned for the second drive, handing off to Devin Singletary on the first two plays. Skattebo then subbed in for carries of five and seven yards on back-to-back plays before giving way to Tracy (and then Singletary) for the rest of the series Dante Miller and Eric Gray then took over backfield work for the rest of the half. Sharing first-team snaps with two other RBs may not seem encouraging for Skattebo's fantasy value, but he did have the best afternoon of the trio in his first game back from major surgery. He'll likely get a larger share of the workload come Week 1.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Warming up with second unit
Rotowire
Skattebo is lined up with Jameis Winston and the second-string offense during pregame warmups for Saturday's preseason matchup with Minnesota, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy are listed as co-starters on the Giants' initial preseason depth chart, and there's a good chance both end up taking snaps with the starters. Tracy, however, appears in line to get the first crack at Minnesota's defense. Skattebo looks ready to make his first game appearance since suffering a season-ending ankle/leg injury last year. The Giants haven't outright said that he'll play, so there is still some chance that Skattebo that just watches from the sideline in uniform Saturday.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Harbaugh downplays exit from practice
Rotowire
Coach John Harbaugh said Skattebo's early exit from Friday's practice is "nothing serious at all," Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
According to Duggan, Skattebo went down in the middle of Friday's session and appeared to be stretching out his hamstring, after which he didn't mix into drills the rest of the way. Harbaugh also told Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News that Skattebo is merely working his way back from last season's dislocated right ankle. How Skattebo fares the rest of training camp and the preseason will determine his ultimate workload once Week 1 arrives, with Tyrone Tracy and, to a lesser extent, Devin Singletary also on hand for backfield reps.
Skattebo (ankle) is participating in team drills at Tuesday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
After doing individual work at Monday's minicamp practice, Skattebo graduated to 11-on-11 work Tuesday, suggesting he's at or near 100 percent health coming off ankle surgery. Already seen doing standing back flips this offseason, Skattebo seems ready to roll for the start of training camp next month. He's expected to have a leg up on Tyrone Tracy for the top job in the Giants' backfield under new coach John Harbaugh and OC Matt Nagy.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Taking part in drills at minicamp
Rotowire
Skattebo (ankle) took part in running and agility drills at the first day of mandatory minicamp Monday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Skattebo, who said in mid-May that he expects to be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 regular season, is roughly eight months removed from the dislocated right ankle that limited him to eight games as a rookie. While it doesn't yet appear that the 2025 fourth-round pick has been cleared for full team drills, it's encouraging to see him demonstrate lateral quickness in on-field individual drills. The Giants may be targeting training camp in July as the next major step forward in Skattebo's recovery.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Says he'll be ready for Week 1
Rotowire
Skattebo (ankle) said at the Giants Town Hall on Monday night that he is expecting to be ready to play in Week 1 of the upcoming campaign, Kevin Patra of the team's official site reports.
Skattebo's comments Monday echo what Giants GM Joe Schoen relayed in late March, when he shared that the running back was declaring himself "ready to go." Skattebo did add Monday that he's not yet ready to take the field for OTAs, but that doesn't appear to be causing him any concern about his readiness for Week 1. New York hasn't added to its RB room during the offseason outside of signing undrafted rookie Damon Bankston, but it did sign All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard, so Skattebo could be set up for a big sophomore campaign.
Skattebo (ankle) is present for the start of voluntary workouts Tuesday, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
New Giants coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that Skattebo (ankle) is ahead of Malik Nabers (knee) in his rehab, but both players are present for the start of voluntary workouts. Per Harbaugh, it is possible Skattebo will resume handling on-field activities this spring. The 2025 fourth-round pick attended Arizona State's Pro Day in late March and was spotted jogging and running without any apparent issues. He suffered a dislocated right ankle in late October and appears to be on track for the start of OTAs.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Looking fully healthy
Rotowire
Skattebo attended Arizona State's Pro Day on Friday and appeared to have no lingering limitations from his right ankle surgery, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Giants GM Joe Schoen also was in attendance for Arizona State's Pro Day and described Skattebo as "jogging around, running, jumping on ex-teammates' backs and stuff like that." Schoen further commented that Skattebo is "declaring himself he's ready to go." Schoen said in January that Skattebo should be ready for the beginning of OTAs, and that appears to remain a genuine possibility.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Out of walking boot
Rotowire
Skattebo (ankle) is on schedule in his recovery from a dislocated right ankle, having shed his walking boot after eight weeks, and he's aiming to be back by training camp if not for spring practices, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Skattebo is now close to 10 weeks removed from his late-October ankle injury, and he's set to start "upping" his speed soon as he works to get back the dorsiflexion (upward movement) in his right foot after shedding his walking boot. The 2025 fourth-round draft pick expects to be ready by training camp in July, which would put him well on track to ramp up to full speed by the start of the 2026 campaign. Once he's healthy, Skattebo could reclaim the top spot in the Giants backfield over Tyrone Tracy.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Dislocated ankle confirmed
Rotowire
Skattebo suffered a dislocated right ankle during Sunday's contest at Philadelphia and was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated further, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
With a diagnosis now known for the gruesome right ankle injury he sustained in the second quarter that required an air cast to stabilize and a cart to get off the field, Skattebo is out indefinitely and likely for the rest of the campaign. The rookie fourth-round pick will yield New York's backfield to Tyrone Tracy moving forward.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: RBs to Start
Rotowire
Tyrone Tracy Jr. returned from a two-game absence with a shoulder injury in Week 6 against the Eagles, but it didn't matter for Skattebo. He had 19 carries for 98 yards and three touchdowns and two catches for 12 yards on two targets, and he has now scored at least 13 PPR points in five games in a row, including the past three outings with at least 21 total touches. The Broncos are No. 4 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, but three guys this season have scored at least 17.8 PPR points against Denver, including Saquon Barkley, Omarion Hampton, and Jonathan Taylor. Skattebo should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues in Week 7.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Breaks out for three TDs in win
Rotowire
Skattebo rushed 19 times for 98 yards and three touchdowns and brought in both targets for 12 yards in the Giants' 34-17 win over the Eagles on Thursday night.
Backfield mate Tyrone Tracy returned from a two-game absence due to a shoulder injury, but Skattebo helped make the latter's availability a non-issue with his stellar play. The rookie was responsible for each of the Giants' last three touchdowns, recording a four-yard scoring run late in the first half and then going into the end zone from one yard out in both the third and fourth quarters. Skattebo also set a new single-game career high in rushing yards with Thursday's performance, and he notably gained 44 of his yards on the Giants' final, game-sealing drive that consumed the last 6:50 of the contest. Given his performance Thursday, Skattebo will head into another stiff challenge against the Broncos on Sunday, Oct. 19 as the unquestioned lead back.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Top DFS Play
Rotowire
Skattebo's breakout happened on Sunday night so it is not reflected in his Week 4 price. Take advantage of that in cash games, no matter how chalky he might be. He's averaging 5.7 yards per touch and could see 20 touches in Week 4 assuming Tyrone Tracy is out. The Chargers have a good defense, but they just gave up 15.3 PPR points to J.K. Dobbins on 12 touches.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Should see role grow in Week 3
Rotowire
Skattebo is expected to handle an increased role in Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll hasn't confirmed that Skattebo will be in line for an uptick in opportunity in Week 3, though that would seem to be a logical conclusion after the rookie handily outperformed fellow backs Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary in the 40-37 overtime loss to Dallas in Week 2. Skattebo didn't start but still led the trio in snaps (35, 52 percent share) while carrying 11 times for 45 yards and a touchdown to go with two catches for 14 yards on three targets. Though he'll be matching up against a stouter Chiefs defense in Week 3, Skattebo's prospects could be bolstered by the expected return of standout left tackle Andrew Thomas (foot), who remains listed as questionable but is likely to suit up after sitting out the Giants' first two games.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Scores first career TD in OT loss
Rotowire
Skattebo carried the ball 11 times for 45 yards and a touchdown and caught two of three targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 40-37 overtime loss to the Cowboys.
The 2025 fourth-round pick made a big statement in his second NFL game, producing a TD nearly single-handedly in the fourth quarter with a 24-yard run to the one-yard line before punching home his first career score. Skattebo provides a punishing, physical presence in the Giants' backfield that Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary lack, and while Tracy should continue to be the team's primary option on passing downs, the rookie made a strong case Sunday to be New York's first choice on running downs. Skattebo will look to build on this performance in Week 3 against Kansas City.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Minimal involvement in debut
Rotowire
Skattebo rushed twice for minus-3 yards and caught both of his targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 21-6 loss to the Commanders.
The rookie fourth-round pick struggled in his NFL debut, but there are a couple silver linings to be found in this forgettable performance. Skattebo got a chance by the goal line with a carry from the 1-yard line in the second quarter, though he lost a yard on the play, and lead back Tyrone Tracy didn't exactly separate from the pack with just 24 yards on 10 carries. The 219-pound Skattebo could eventually emerge as the short-yardage back over the 210-pound Tracy, and Skattebo showed promise as a pass catcher in training camp, but his short-term role could be limited in a Giants backfield that also includes Tracy and Devin Singletary. Up next for Big Blue is a Week 2 road game in Dallas.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Takes three carries in pro debut
Rotowire
Skattebo took three carries for 12 yards in Thursday's 42-10 preseason win over the Patriots.
Making his preseason debut after a hamstring injury cost him a few weeks, Skattebo got the start on a night when Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary were among the many players rested. Skattebo played the first two drives and gained four yards on each of his three carries before calling it a night. Tracy appears to be the starter for Week 1 against Washington, with both Skattebo and Singletary candidates for roles off the bench. All the missed time during training camp and the preseason killed any chance Skattebo might've had to push Tracy for the lead role Week 1.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Dressed for Thursday's game
Rotowire
Skattebo is suited up ahead of Thursday's preseason contest versus the Patriots, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
The Giants invested a fourth-round pick in Skattebo during the 2025 NFL Draft, and he was impressing as a receiver out of the backfield early on in training camp before sustaining a hamstring injury in practice on Aug. 1. He proceeded to miss the team's first two exhibitions before getting back on the field Tuesday, when he logged team drills. New York isn't expected to make many of its starters available Thursday, but if Skattebo suits up, he'll have his first in-game opportunity to push Devin Singletary for the No. 2 spot on the RB depth chart behind starter Tyrone Tracy.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Taking part in team drills
Rotowire
Skattebo (hamstring) is participating in team drills Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Skattebo already appears to be a full participant in his return to practice, a welcome payoff after the Giants took a cautious approach to his recovery from a hamstring strain and kept him sidelined for the first two preseason games. The rookie fourth-rounder's final chance to log exhibition reps will come Thursday versus New England, and putting together a strong performance would significantly aid Skattebo's chances of pushing veteran incumbent Devin Singletary for backfield reps behind presumed Week 1 starter Tyrone Tracy.
