Garett Maag WR | MIN
Garett Maag: Let go Monday
Maag was waived by the Vikings on Monday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Maag joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota in June. The 23-year-old will now likely work to find another opportunity elsewhere unless Minnesota attempts to sign him to its practice squad.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR | SEA
Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Expected to start on active roster
Smith-Njigba (wrist) is expected to avoid injured reserve and begin the regular season on the active roster, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Smith-Njigba's availability for Week 1 still looks uncertain, but beginning the year on IR would have forced him to miss at least the first four games of the season. Coach Pete Carroll said he hopes the rookie first-round pick's recovery is only a "3-to-4-week deal," per Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune, so there's some reason for optimism about his chances of getting on the field in the first month of the season. Smith-Njigba underwent surgery Aug. 24 to address a minor wrist fracture.

Kevin Austin Jr. WR | NO
Kevin Austin: Gets cut loose
Austin was waived by the Jaguars on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Austin spent 2022 on the team's practice squad after going undrafted out of Notre Dame. He was brought back on a reserve/future deal he signed in January, but he once again was not able to crack the team's 53-man roster. Although he could end up back on the team's practice squad, he also now has the chance to pursue opportunities with other teams.

Treylon Burks WR | WAS
Titans' Treylon Burks: Returns to practice
Burks (knee) returned to practice Monday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
It's his first practice since Aug. 16, when he suffered an LCL injury. It apparently wasn't too serious, as he's back at practice 12 days later and with 13 days to go before the Titans kick off their season in New Orleans on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Jalen Guyton WR | LV
Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Likely headed to reserve/PUP list
Guyton (knee) is expected to begin the season on the reserve/PUP list, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Guyton, who tore his ACL in Week 3 of last season, has been on the active/PUP list, but once a move is made to shift the wideout to the reserve/PUP list, he'll be in line to miss at least the first four games of the coming campaign. As roster cut downs approach, the Chargers' WR corps is led by Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston.

Zion Bowens WR | WAS
Zion Bowens: Hitting waivers
The Commanders are slated to waive Bowens on Monday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Bowens linked up with Washington as an undrafted free agent shortly after April's draft, and he could find himself back on the practice squad if the team decides to continue investing in his development. The former Hawaii standout tacked up 52 receptions for 896 yards and seven touchdowns in his three seasons of collegiate play.

James Washington WR | ATL
James Washington: Can't stick with Indianapolis
The Colts are set to release Washington on Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Washington, a 2018 second-round pick, joined Indianapolis less than two weeks ago and will now have to look for yet another opportunity. The 27-year-old wideout failed to secure his only target across two games with the Cowboys last season.
-
Breshad Perriman WR | IND
Breshad Perriman: Time up in Indy
The Colts are slated to release Perriman on Monday, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Perriman joined forces with Indianapolis early June, but he will need to search for an opportunity at a depth role elsewhere. The 29-year-old wideout racked up less than 200 receiving yards in each of his last two seasons, both of which he spent in Tampa Bay.

Gunner Olszewski WR | NYG
Steelers' Gunner Olszewski: On roster bubble
Olszewski is in danger of being cut by the Steelers ahead of the regular season, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.
Olszewski spent the 2022 campaign with the Steelers but saw minimal work in the passing game, securing five of seven targets for 53 yards while rushing eight times for 39 yards. He took on some occasional return duties, but those might not be enough to keep him on the 53-man roster after Pittsburgh acquired Allen Robinson during the offseason. Over his three preseason appearances this year, he secured eight of 11 targets for 63 yards while rushing once for four yards.

Taye Barber WR | TB
Taye Barber: Sent to waivers
The Buccaneers waived Barber on Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Barber flashed in the preseason, but he nonetheless won't stick with Tampa Bay's final roster when the regular season kicks off. The undrafted rookie could be a strong candidate to resurface on the practice squad, however.
