Jason Brownlee WR | KC
Jets' Jason Brownlee: Two catches in preseason finale
Brownlee caught two of four targets for 25 yards in Saturday's 32-24 preseason win over the Giants.
Brownlee was outplayed by fellow undrafted rookie Xavier Gipson, who caught seven of 10 targets for 79 yards in New York's preseason finale. That difference in production could prove significant, as Brownlee and Gipson may be competing over one roster spot at wide receiver. It's still possible that both youngsters make the team, as the Jets don't have any obvious keepers at the position behind Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard (shoulder), Mecole Hardman (finger) and Randall Cobb.

Xavier Gipson WR | NYG
Jets' Xavier Gipson: Bolsters chances of making team
Gipson caught seven of 10 targets for 79 yards in Saturday's 32-24 preseason win over the Giants. He also had a 20-yard punt return.
The Jets gave Gipson plenty of opportunities to showcase his skills in the preseason finale, and the undrafted rookie stepped up, which should help his chances of sticking around after Tuesday's final cuts. Gipson played with the second-team offense Saturday, and his punt return could have gone for a touchdown if he didn't just barely step out of bounds. His ability to contribute in the return game on special teams could help Gipson claim a roster spot on a wide receiver depth chart that recently gained an opening when Corey Davis announced that he's stepping away from football.

Marcus Kemp WR | WAS
Marcus Kemp: Time up in Washington
The Commanders are releasing Kemp on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Kemp will need to search for another depth opportunity, but he boasts enough experience and special-teams ability to latch on elsewhere. The 28-year-old wideout spent most of the last five seasons with the Chiefs, though he also logged one appearance with the Dolphins in 2020.

Alex Erickson WR | HOU
Jets' Alex Erickson: Two TDs in preseason finale
Erickson caught all five of his targets for 38 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 32-24 preseason win over the Giants. He also had a six-yard punt return.
Erickson will likely end up as either one of New York's final cuts at wide receiver or just sneak onto the roster when the Jets trim the team to 53 players Tuesday. He did all he could to bolster the chances of the latter outcome in the preseason finale, catching every pass thrown his way while getting into the end zone twice. Both of Erickson's touchdowns were thrown by third-string quarterback Tim Boyle.

Kaylon Geiger Sr. WR | TB
Kaylon Geiger: Let go by Bucs
Tampa Bay will waive Geiger on Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Geiger appeared in three games for the Buccaneers as a rookie last season, but he finds himself an early casualty of roster cutdowns. The second-year pro did put forth a strong showing in Tampa Bay's preseason opener, though, and he could be a candidate to resurface on the practice squad.

Tank Dell WR | HOU
Texans' Tank Dell: Returns to action Sunday
Dell (hamstring/back) was active for Sunday's preseason finale, failing to haul in his lone target in an exhibition win over the Saints.
Dell was able to return after missing last week's preseason tilt against Miami due to minor injuries. The third-round pick didn't record a catch Sunday, but he flashed his athletic ability when Davis Mills nearly connected with him downfield on the team's third offensive possession. The Texans appear set with Nico Collins and veteran Robert Woods as starters to begin the year, leaving Dell to compete with Noah Brown for snaps as Week 1 inches closer.

A.T. Perry WR | PIT
Saints' A.T. Perry: Gets more run in preseason finale
Perry caught three of his four targets for 12 yards in Sunday's preseason finale against Houston.
Perry added three more receptions to his busy preseason, but the rookie wideout was unable to break off any big plays for the second straight game after his impressive exhibition debut (6-70-1 on Aug. 14). Chris Olave and Michael Thomas are expected to start alongside new quarterback Derek Carr once the regular season kicks off, but Perry may have shown enough this exhibition season to earn a spot on the Saints' final roster. The 23-year-old's roster bid would increase should either Rashid Shaheed (groin) or Tre'Quan Smith (groin) be forced to miss Week 1, but neither injury is currently considered long term.

Demarcus Robinson WR | SF
Rams' Demarcus Robinson: Blanked in finale
Robinson failed to bring in any of his four targets during Saturday's 41-0 preseason loss to the Broncos.
While a goose egg in the reception department would normally be worrisome for a roster bubble candidate like Robinson, the Rams only managed 102 yards receiving all game, with only likely practice squad members Austin Trammell and Braxton Burmeister finishing with double-digit yardage. Tyler Johnson is Robinson's most likely competitor for a spot on the 53-man roster after Ben Skowronek joined Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua on the sidelines Saturday, a usual indicator from coach Sean McVay that a player has earned a spot on the team. Robinson's versatility may give him a slight edge over Johnson if the team chooses to only have six receivers in order to have more flexibility in other positions to open the campaign.
-
Tyler Johnson WR | DAL
Rams' Tyler Johnson: Garners just six yards
Johnson caught two of three targets for six yards in Saturday's 41-0 preseason loss to the Broncos.
Drawing the start alongside fellow roster bubble candidate Demarcus Robinson, Johnson was unable to do much with his trio of targets on a night the Rams offense as a whole failed at every level. Ben Skowronek notably got the night off, a sign coach Sean McVay is sold on him making the 53-man roster. This would make Skowronek the fifth wideout on the team along with Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua. The Rams did keep seven wide receivers on their roster last year, but if they choose to add more depth at other positions, Robinson's utility at multiple roles in the offense might give him a slight edge over Johnson for what could be the final wide receiver slot on the team.

Deven Thompkins WR | BUF
Buccaneers' Deven Thompkins: Limited to special-teams production
Thompkins failed to bring in his only target, returned one kickoff for 38 yards and ran back one punt for eight yards in the Buccaneers' 26-20 preseason win over the Ravens on Saturday night.
Thompkins looked good in his special-teams roles, even as he failed to make an impact on offense. The second-year speedster logged 19 snaps from scrimmage overall, and he did record four receptions for 22 yards over the Buccaneers' first two preseason games. Thompkins is considered the leader for both returner roles, per Scott Smith of the team's official site, so his roster spot is seemingly secure despite a crowded latter portion of the Buccaneers' wide receiver depth chart.
