Tony Jones RB | ARI
Tony Jones: Reverts to practice squad
Jones reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Jones signed with the Cardinals' practice squad Dec. 18 and was elevated for the regular-season finale against the 49ers on Sunday. He ended up playing 15 snaps (five on offense, 10 on special teams), and ripped off a 46-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter to finish with 55 rushing yards and a score on four carries.

Royce Freeman RB | CHI
Royce Freeman: Cut by Chicago
The Bears cut Freeman from the practice squad Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Freeman joined the Bears' practice squad Dec. 11 after being cut by the Browns in early October. He wasn't elevated to the active roster, and the veteran running back will now explore his options on the open market. Freeman played in 14 regular-season games for the Rams in 2023 and turned 77 carries into 319 yards and two touchdowns.

Isaac Guerendo RB | SF
49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Has MCL, ankle sprains
Guerendo has been diagnosed with MCL and ankle sprains in his left leg following an MRI on Monday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
The 49ers' 2024 campaign is over, but the team's season finale included yet another RB injury. On only his second carry of Sunday's game, Guerendo had his left leg twisted under him as he was tackled, and he needed a cart to go to the locker room. While Guerendo did avoid a more serious ACL injury, he's still one of four San Francisco running backs who will enter the offseason focusing on rehab, along with Christian McCaffrey (knee), Jordan Mason (ankle) and Elijah Mitchell (hamstring). Guerendo, a 2024 fourth-round pick, proved to be effective when given the chance as a rookie, turning 84 carries into 420 yards (5.0 YPC) and four touchdowns and hauling in 15 of 16 targets for 152 yards in 16 appearances.

Xazavian Valladay RB | MIN
Saints' Xazavian Valladay: Inks deal with NOLA
The Saints signed Valladay to a reserve/future contract Monday.
Valladay was cut from the Jets' practice squad mid-September, but he caught on with the Saints in early November and remained on the practice squad for the rest of the 2024 regular season. Valladay last saw NFL regular-season action in 2023 with the Jets, during which he played in Week 18 against the Patriots and logged 12 snaps on special teams. The 26-year-old running back out of Arizona State is set to spend time with the Saints during OTAs and minicamp and will attempt to earn a roster spot during training camp next summer.

Ian Wheeler RB | NO
Bears' Ian Wheeler: Spends season on injured reserve
Wheeler spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in the preseason finale.
Wheeler was signed in May of 2024 as an undrafted free agent. The running back is signed with Chicago through 2026.

Elijah Dotson RB | ATL
Falcons' Elijah Dotson: Lands in Atlanta
The Falcons signed Dotson to a reserve/future contract Monday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
The Northern Colorado product was added to the Falcons' practice squad in early December after failing to make the Chargers' 53-man roster before the regular season. Dotson appeared in four games with the Chargers in 2023, taking four carries for six yards across 34 total snaps (15 offensive and 19 on special teams). He's expected to compete for a reserve role in Atlanta's backfield as the team begins its offseason activities.
-
Christopher Brooks RB | GB
Packers' Chris Brooks: Effective in Week 18
Brooks had eight carries for 59 yards in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Bears.
Although the Packers ended the regular season on a down note, Brooks ended it on a high one, setting season highs in both the rushing attempts and yards categories. Brooks averaged a quality 5.1 YPC during the regular season, but it's unlikely he will be much of a factor in the postseason, as starting running back Josh Jacobs will be at full speed and fellow reserve Emanuel Wilson took 31 carries to Brooks' 14 over the last three weeks.
-
Emanuel Wilson RB | SEA
Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Tallies another touchdown
Wilson had 14 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown and one reception for minus-2 yards in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Bears.
Wilson found the end zone just twice over his first 14 appearances of the campaign, but he tallied a touchdown in each of the last three weeks of the regular season. He's edged back ahead of Chris Brooks for the backup spot behind starter Josh Jacobs, but neither figures to be particularly busy in Green Bay's playoff opener with Jacobs both healthy and fresh after having his workload eased heading into the postseason.
-
Zach Evans RB | NYJ
Jets' Zach Evans: Signs with Gang Green
The Jets signed Evans to a reserve/future contract Monday.
The 23-year-old was added to the Jets' practice squad mid-December after being cut from the Rams' practice squad in late August. Evans, a 2023 sixth-round pick from Ole Miss, appeared in 10 games with the Rams during his rookie campaign, taking nine carries for 19 yards across 16 offensive snaps.

Jabari Small RB | DET
Titans' Jabari Small: Inks deal with Tennessee
The Titans signed Small to a reserve/future contract Monday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Small spent most of his rookie campaign on the Titans' practice squad, and he'll remain in Tennessee after inking a new deal Monday. The 22-year-old has yet to appear in an NFL game, though he was elevated to the active roster ahead of Tennessee's Week 3 loss to the Packers. Small will likely compete for a depth role in the Titans' backfield as the team heads into the offseason.
