Report: Cardinals considering shutting down Andre Ellington?
The Cardinals might consider shutting down running back Andre Ellington for the rest of the season due to hip pointer and sports hernia injuries, according to FOX Sports 910 reporter Mike Jurecki. Ellington will likely see a specialist to determine the extent of his injuries.
Ellington, who started the first 12 games, will miss his first game of the season Sunday vs. Kansas City. He has been held to less than 50 rushing yards in his last four games.

Report: Vikings' Jerick McKinnon to undergo back surgery
Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon will undergo a back procedure to help alleviate a lower back injury, reports ESPN.
The Vikings already placed McKinnon on IR and the procedure is expected to keep him out for at least eight weeks. He is expected to be ready to begin full workouts when the offseason begins.
In 2014, McKinnon rushed for 538 yards on 113 attempts through 11 games.

Vikings place rookie RB Jerick McKinnon on IR
Jerick McKinnon's promising season has come to a screeching end on Saturday, as the Vikings placed the rookie back on injured reserve with a lower back injury.
McKinnon rose to the occasion after Minnesota lost Adrian Peterson and established himself as the primary back. He currently leads the team in carries (113), rushing yards (538), and yards per carry average (4.8). According to the Star-Tribune, McKinnon tweaked his back while lifting weights at the team facility in mid-November.
The Vikings will now turn to Matt Asiata, Joe Banyard and Ben Tate for the final four games of the season.

Meanwhile, the following players were designated as questionable for the game: Long snapper Danny Aiken (concussion), cornerback Kyle Arrington (ankle), offensive lineman Dan Connolly (ankle), defensive lineman Dominique Easley (knee), wide receiver Julian Edelman (thigh) offensive lineman Cameron Fleming (ankle), linebacker Dont'a Hightower (shoulder), defensive end Chandler Jones (hip), wide receiver Brandon LaFell (shoulder) and running back Shane Vereen (ankle).
All 10 New England players that were listed as questionable were limited participants in practice the entire week leading up to the game.
