  • DuJuan Harris RB | JAC

DuJuan Harris: Likely destined for temporary promotion

Harris, currently on the 49ers' practice squad, will likely be promoted to the active roster in the wake of teammate Carlos Hyde's shoulder injury, Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Hyde's injury likely won't sideline him long, but the 49ers still need some reinforcements, as only Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn currently round out the rest of the team's running back corps.

  • Corey Grant RB | JAC

Jaguars' Corey Grant: Full participant Wednesday

Grant (toe) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

Grant was questionable heading into Sunday's game against the Bears before ultimately being ruled inactive. The toe injury does not appear to be too serious at this point, given his full participation at practice Wednesday.

  • Raiders' Latavius Murray: Limited in practice

Murray (turf toe) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Murray was seen practicing earlier in the day, but it wasn't clear if he was being held out of some drills and not others. Had he been listed as a full participant, the majority of qualms regarding his readiness for Sunday's contest would have been put to rest. However, Murray was evidently restrained in some capacity, and thus his game status remains in question.

  • Knile Davis RB | PIT

Packers' Knile Davis: Only healthy Packers RB for Thursday

Davis is the only healthy running back on the Packers' 53-man roster in advance of Thursday's game against the Bears.

Tuesday dawned with news of Davis' trade to the Packers, who seemingly required a running back to round out the backfield with Eddie Lacy dealing with a sore ankle and James Starks (knee) out for four weeks. The Packers have proceeded to rule Lacy out for Week 7, leaving Davis as the presumptive favorite to lead the rushing attack Thursday. Davis may not handle the entire workload, though, as wide receivers Ty Montgomery and Randall Cobb have been utilized as ball carriers in the past, fullback Aaron Ripkowski could get in on the act, and RB Don Jackson may be promoted from the practice squad.

  • Lions' Dwayne Washington: Limited Wednesday

Washington (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday.

Despite logging one limited practice last week, the Lions exercised caution with their rookie running back and placed him in the inactive list Sunday for the second week in a row. With another capped showing under his belt Wednesday, he appears to be on a path to active status this Sunday versus the Redskins, which could become more clear by the end of the week. If he's able to suit up, he could work in tandem with Zach Zenner out of the backfield, especially if Theo Riddick (ankle) misses his second consecutive contest.

  • Raiders' Latavius Murray: Returns to practice

Murray (turf toe) practiced Wednesday, Scott Bair of CSN California reports.

Murray was spotted making cuts Wednesday in his return to the practice field, though it remains to be seen if the Raiders will list him as a limited or full participant.

  • Ka'Deem Carey RB | CHI

Bears' Ka'Deem Carey: Questionable for Thursday

Carey (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game at Green Bay, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Carey's hamstring injury stems from Week 2, which forced two DNPs and has lingered into the past three weeks of prep. Receiving a questionable designation has been the norm in advance of the past two games, and he even made inroads Sunday versus the Jaguars, grabbing nine carries for 50 yards. Expect him to serve in a complementary role to starter Jordan Howard yet again.

  • Patriots' Brandon Bolden: Limited Wednesday

Bolden (knee) was listed as limited at Wednesday's practice.

Bolden's continued practice participation suggests that he could be available Sunday against the Steelers, but even if he is active for the contest, he's off the fantasy radar while working behind LeGarrette Blount and James White.

  • Doug Martin RB | LV

Buccaneers' Doug Martin: Suffers setback with hamstring

Martin suffered a setback with his hamstring injury last week and has no timetable for a return, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

For a team with a pair of playmakers -- Charles Sims (knee) and Vincent Jackson (knee) -- already on injured reserve, the development is yet another hard knock for the Buccaneers' offense. With Martin poised for a continuation of his multi-week absence, Jacquizz Rodgers will serve as the No. 1 running back for the foreseeable future, though reserve RBs Peyton Barber and Antone Smith could also get into the act moving forward.

  • Doug Martin RB | LV

Buccaneers' Doug Martin: Misses practice Wednesday

Martin (hamstring) missed the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Roy Cummings of WFLA News Channel 8 Tampa Bay reports.

In the Buccaneers' first practice following their bye week, Martin is still rehabbing the hamstring injury that has ailed him since Week 2. He'll have two additional sessions to make his presence felt in advance of Sunday's game in San Francisco, but in the event he's ultimately unable to go, the backfield could again be the domain of Jacquizz Rodgers, who received a career-high 30 carries in Week 5 against the Panthers.
