Matt Dayes RB | NO
Browns' Matt Dayes: Making strong impression
Coach Hue Jackson said Dayes has had a great camp so far, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Dayes was Cleveland's seventh-round pick out of NC State in 2017 and has already managed to catch Jackson's attention in training camp. The rookie is competing with Terrence Magee and Brandon Wilds for the third-string running back job, but if recent reports are any indication, he looks to have the early edge.

Jerick McKinnon RB | KC
Vikings' Jerick McKinnon: Returns to practice Sunday
McKinnon (lower leg) returned to practice Sunday, Mark Craig of the Star Tribune reports.
McKinnon was held out of Saturday's practice with a lower leg injury, but the fact that he'll only miss one day means it was a relatively minor ailment. He rejoined practice Sunday and should see a decent amount of reps behind Dalvin Cook, considering projected starter Latavius Murray (ankle) is currently stuck on the PUP list.

Doug Martin RB | LV
Buccaneers' Doug Martin: Not promised starting role once available
Martin is not guaranteed a starter's role once he returns from his three-game suspension, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.
General manager Jason Licht has continued to heap praise on Martin for both his physical and mental development this offseason, but with a three-game suspension looming, he's not ready to guarantee Martin a spot in the top unit. Fellow running back Jacquizz Rodgers is currently taking first-team reps, and depending on how he performs early on in the season, he could keep his spot as the lead back even when Martin is cleared. Still, Martin is only one year removed from a 2015 campaign where he had 288 carries for 1,402 yards and six touchdowns, so it could be hard to keep him off the field if he's progressed as well as Licht has indicated.

Trent Richardson RB | BAL
Bills' Marcell Dareus: Still sidelined
Dareus missed both of this weekend's training camp practices after suffering a hamstring injury Friday, John Murphy of BuffaloBills.com reports.
There isn't any indication that the injury is anything more than day-to-day at the moment. New head coach Sean McDermott will heavily rely on Dareus, the team's best interior lineman, in the first-year coach's quest to better what was a disappointing defense under Rex Ryan last season.

Dalvin Cook RB | DAL
Vikings' Dalvin Cook: Dominating first-team work
With Latavius Murray (ankle) and Jerick McKinnon (leg) sidelined, Cook dominated first-team work Saturday at the first full-pads practice of training camp, ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert reports.
Murray is rehabbing from surgery and hasn't practiced since signing in March, while McKinnon was healthy throughout the offseason until suffering a seemingly minor injury at Thursday's practice. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer suggested Cook has taken advantage of the early opportunity, though the rookie still figures to split first-team work with McKinnon when the veteran returns to practice. Murray is also expected to compete for a major role upon his return, which doesn't seem to be imminent.

Storm Johnson RB | MIA
Dolphins' Storm Johnson: Sidelined by foot issue
Johnson is dealing with a foot injury, The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley reports.
With Jay Ajayi, Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake all locks for the final roster, Johnson is left to compete with Senorise Perry and De'Veon Smith for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart -- a slotting that doesn't guarantee him a job. Even if his injury clears up quickly, Johnson will face tough odds to make the team.

D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE
Texans' D'Onta Foreman: Gives Houston what it seeks
Foreman has shown quickness to the line and patience in waiting for the hole to open early on in training camp, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.
One of the primary reasons the Texans drafted Foreman was his ability to run between the tackles, and he's viewed as an ideal candidate to keep starter Lamar Miller fresh over the course of the season. Miller noted the rookie was very decisive when entering the line and did a good job on the goal line during Saturday's practice. Under head coach Bill O'Brien, the Texans have run the ball more than any team in the league, and in adding Foreman to go with Miller, that run-first philosophy doesn't figure to change. Miller will clearly lead the backfield, but one can envision a best-case scenario where Foreman emerges as the Texans' go-to back inside the 10- and 5-yard lines.

Mike Gillislee RB | NE
Patriots' Mike Gillislee: Gets first goal-line carries at camp
Gillislee took the first two goal-line carries at New England's first practice of training camp in full pads, ESPN.com's Mike Reiss reports.
While a clear favorite to replace LeGarrette Blount as the team's primary early-down runner and goal-line back, Gillislee could face competition from fellow offseason acquisition Rex Burkhead. The latter offers strong blocking and receiving skills, but with James White and Dion Lewis expected to handle most of the passing-down work, Gillislee's lack of experience in that department shouldn't be too much of an issue. Burkhead also took some goal-line reps at Saturday's practice, and the competition between the two figures to be one to watch throughout the remainder of the summer.

Lions' Brandon Thomas: Lands on PUP list
Thomas (undisclosed) was placed on the PUP list on Saturday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Thomas' absence thins out some of Detroit's depth along the interior of its offensive line for the start of training camp, but he will be eligible to come off the PUP list at any point during the preseason.

George Atkinson RB | NYJ
George Atkinson: Claimed by Raiders
Atkinson was claimed off waivers by the Raiders on Saturday, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
After being waived by the Browns earlier in the week, Atkinson will return to Oakland, where he started his career in 2014. Atkinson will have a tough hill to climb in terms of breaking camp with the team, but he was very close to landing on Oakland's 53-man roster last season. He'll likely have to be a standout special teamer in order to remain with the club.
