  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Limited in return to practice

Sanders (knee) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Sanders practiced for the first time since suffering a knee injury at the end of a 74-yard run in the Eagles' Oct. 18 loss to the Ravens. He missed the Eagles' last two games as a result, but after a Week 9 bye, Sanders appears to be putting himself in position to return to action. Sanders has two more opportunities to prove his health this week before the Eagles determine whether to give him a designation for Sunday's road contest against the Giants.

  • Eno Benjamin RB | NO

Cardinals' Eno Benjamin: Needs to improve on special teams

Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Wednesday that Benjamin has recently been a healthy scratch due to his lack of ability to contribute on special teams, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.

Kingsbury specified that Arizona's third running back needs to be able to play on special teams, which is why D.J. Foster and Jonathan Ward backed up Chase Edmonds last weekend. Benjamin has yet to be made active for a game this season, and Kenyan Drake (ankle) now appears to be nearing a return, so his window of opportunity could be closing.

  • Damien Harris RB | BUF

Patriots' Damien Harris: Limited at practice Wednesday

Harris (chest/ankle) was listed as limited at practice Wednesday, Andrew Callahan of Boston Herald reports.

Harris headed into Week 9 action managing the ankle issue, but it was the chest injury that ended up forcing him out of Monday's win over the Jets. That he was able to practice two days later -- even in a limited fashion -- is a decent sign, but if Harris is at less than 100 percent health heading into the weekend, the Patriots could choose to bring Sony Michel (quadriceps) back from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Logs full practice

Jones (calf) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Olivia Reiner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Jones was listed as limited on each of the Packers' Week 9 injury reports prior to getting the green light to return to action in last Thursday's win at San Francisco. In his return from a two-game absence due to the calf strain, Jones played a normal 61 percent of the snaps on offense, which led to 20 touches for 79 yards. The workload likely was necessitated by the lack of available running backs; both Jamaal Williams (not injury related) and AJ Dillon (illness) were unavailable while residing on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Williams is back on the active roster, but Dillon remains away from the team as he deals with the illness. As a result, the Packers seem poised to have their top two backs available Sunday against the Jaguars for the first time since Week 6.

  • 49ers' Raheem Mostert: Won't return from IR in Week 10

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Mostert (ankle) is unlikely to be activated from injured reserve before Sunday's game at New Orleans, but the 49ers hope to have the running back available for their first game after a Week 11 bye Nov. 29 versus the Rams, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

Shanahan said the same of fellow running back Tevin Coleman (knee), which would leave the backfield in the hands of Jerick McKinnon, JaMycal Hasty and Austin Walter this weekend. Sunday's game will mark Mostert's sixth absence of the season.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Cardinals' Kenyan Drake: Officially limited Wednesday

Drake (ankle) was limited at Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Deemed day-to-day by coach Kliff Kingsbury on Monday, Drake took a step on the right direction as he works to get past a slight tear of a ligament in his ankle, which so far has sidelined him for one game. Drake will look to build upon his progress as he attempts to return to action Sunday against the Bills.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Should return this season

Coach Matt Rhule said Wednesday that McCaffrey (shoulder) is "day-to-day" or "week-to-week," clarifying that the running back's AC joint injury won't be season-ending, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

McCaffrey isn't expected to practice or play this week, and he's already scheduled for a second opinion on the shoulder. Meanwhile, Mike Davis is set for another stint in the lead back role, though it isn't likely to last for six games again, even if the 3-6 Panthers take a cautious approach with McCaffrey over the final two months of a rebuilding season.

  • Damien Harris RB | BUF

Patriots' Damien Harris: Back at practice Wednesday

Harris (chest) is present at Wednesday's practice, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.

Harris was forced out of Monday's win over the Jets due to the chest injury, so it's encouraging to see him in attendance for practice just two days later. The second-year running back is also scheduled to speak with the media Friday, which isn't standard procedure for injured players. That said, until the actual extent of Harris' practice activity is revealed, his status will need to be monitored heading into the Patriots' Week 10 game against Baltimore.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Works on the side at practice

Mixon (foot) was spotted rehabbing on a side field at Wednesday's practice, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Mixon isn't ready to resume participating in team drills, but it's at least encouraging to see that he's handling rehab work. Ben Baby of ESPN.com noted that coach Zac Taylor has been heartened by the running back's progress, but Mixon will still likely need to upgrade his practice activity over the next two days to have a shot at playing Sunday in Pittsburgh.

  • Football Team's Antonio Gibson: Dealing with shoulder injury

Gibson didn't practice Wednesday due to a shoulder injury, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.

Gibson is coming off a career-low nine touches in Sunday's loss to the Giants, resulting in 55 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown. His offensive snap share (46 percent) wasn't out of the norm, but perhaps the shoulder issue forced Washington to use J.D. McKissic a bit more (12 touches, 83 percent share). In any case, Gibson's status will be one to watch as the weekend approaches to get a sense of his availability for Week 10.
