Melvin Gordon RB | BAL
Broncos' Melvin Gordon: Garners 103 total yards in loss
Gordon rushed 15 times for 54 yards and secured all three targets for 49 yards during the Broncos' 12-9 overtime loss to the Colts on Thursday night.
Playing in his first game as the true lead back in the absence of Javonte Williams (knee), Gordon turned in a gutsy effort on the ground against one of the league's elite run defenses. He rounded out his relatively modest production nicely through the air, with his reception and receiving yardage tally checking in third on the night for the Broncos. Gordon also encouragingly remained free of turnovers after committing four fumbles and losing two over the first four games of the season, and he'll aim for even stronger production against his old Chargers squad in a Week 6 Monday night road showdown Oct. 17.

Nyheim Miller-Hines RB | NO
Colts' Nyheim Hines: Ruled out with concussion
Hines has been ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game against the Broncos due to a concussion, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Hines sustained the injury on the Colts' opening drive of the game and was immediately taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. He will need to clear league protocols prior to returning to action, which could occur for a Week 6 matchup against Jacksonville. Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay will take over the work in the backfield.

Nyheim Miller-Hines RB | NO
Colts' Nyheim Hines: Being evaluated for concussion
Hines exited Thursday's game against the Broncos to be evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Hines made a catch out of the backfield on the Colts' opening drive and had trouble regaining his footing. He was spotted going into the locker room to be evaluated for a head injury so his status for the remainder of Thursday's game is in question. Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay should see additional run so long as Hines remains sidelined.

Kenneth Walker III RB | KC
Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Dealing with shoulder issue
Walker was limited at Thursday's practice by a shoulder injury, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Walker avoided the injury report entirely to kick off Week 5 prep, so his midweek addition is somewhat concerning. He'll aim to bump back up to all activity at Friday's session, after which the Seahawks may provide some clarity regarding his availability for Sunday's contest at New Orleans. Even if he ends up being available this weekend, though, Walker will play second fiddle in Seattle's backfield to Rashaad Penny (shoulder), who followed up a DNP on Wednesday with a full practice Thursday.

Rashaad Penny RB | CAR
Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Practices in full Thursday
Penny (shoulder) was a full practice participant Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
After taking a season-high 18 touches for 157 total yards and two rushing TDs this past Sunday at Detroit, Penny showed up to a media session with his shoulders heavily wrapped. He then kicked off Week 5 prep with a DNP, only to return Thursday with a cap on his reps. Penny thus received a maintenance day Wednesday, while rookie Kenneth Walker was added to the injury report Thursday as limited with a shoulder issue of his own. There's no telling if Walker is in danger of sitting out Sunday at New Orleans, but Penny himself is poised to lead the Seahawks backfield again this weekend.

Latavius Murray RB | BUF
Broncos' Latavius Murray: Inactive Thursday
Murray is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Colts.
With Murray -- a recent addition to Denver's roster -- inactive Thursday, Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone are in line to lead the team's Week 5 backfield, with Devine Ozigbo up from the practice squad to provide added depth versus Indianapolis. Murray will now look to make his debut for the Broncos in Week 6 against the Chargers.

Rashaad Penny RB | CAR
Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Back at practice Thursday
Penny (shoulder) returned to practice Thursday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Penny's shoulder was heavily wrapped during media availability after the Seahawks' Week 4 win at Detroit, in which he turned a season-high 18 touches into 157 yards from scrimmage and two rushing touchdowns. He then proceeded to sit out Wednesday's practice, but that presumably was for maintenance-related reasons. Thursday's injury report will reveal whether or not Penny was limited or full as he got back on the field.

Boston Scott RB | PIT
Eagles' Boston Scott: Logs another limited session
Scott (rib) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Scott has now opened the week with consecutive limited sessions, after he missed Sunday's 29-21 victory over the Jaguars with a rib injury he presumably picked up in Week 3 against Washington. The 27-year-old running back's participation in Friday's practice should provide additional clarity regarding his availability against Arizona this weekend, but Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell would be in line to receive additional touches should Scott eventually be ruled out Sunday.

J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN
Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Turns in full practice
Dobbins (chest) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
His ability to take every rep at Thursday's session likely confirms that his absence from Wednesday's session was for maintenance purposes. With Dobbins expected to gradually increase his usage and workload in the weeks to come now that he's returned from the knee surgery that sidelined him for all of 2021 and the first two contests of the current season, the Ravens could continue to cap his practice reps early on in weeks to ensure he's at optimal health heading into game days. Dobbins will once again headline the Ravens' backfield Sunday against Bengals, but it's unclear who might be complementing him. Justice Hill (hamstring) was his top understudy the past two weeks but looks to be trending toward sitting out Sunday, while Gus Edwards (knee) returned to practice Wednesday but may need another week or two to ramp up before the Ravens activate him from the PUP list.

D'Andre Swift RB | CHI
Lions' D'Andre Swift: Doesn't practice Thursday
Swift (shoulder/ankle) was a non-participant in practice Thursday.
Swift's lack of practice activity came as no surprise after Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reported earlier Thursday that the Lions are tentatively planning on having the running back sit out a second straight game Sunday at New England before returning to action following a Week 6 bye. Unless Swift takes a big step forward Friday in terms of practice activity, the Lions will likely formally rule him out for the game against the Patriots with the release of their final Week 5 injury report.
