  • Chase Edmonds RB | WAS

Broncos' Chase Edmonds: Receives eight touches in return

Edmonds (ankle) was activated off injured reserve and gained 31 yards on six carries and 22 yards on two receptions in Sunday's 51-14 loss to the Rams.

Edmonds spent the minimum four weeks on injured reserve before being activated ahead of Sunday's tilt. The 26-year-old was mixed in behind starter Latavius Murray (8/41/0) and finished second in backfield touches ahead of Marlon Mack (2/17/0). Edmonds should continue to handle receiving duties while spelling Murray when the Broncos take on the Chiefs in Week 17.

  • Broncos' Latavius Murray: Limited on nine touches

Murray rushed eight times for 34 yards and had one reception (three targets) for six yards in Sunday's 51-14 loss to the Rams.

Murray led a committee of veteran backs in carries and rushing yards despite the paltry final line. The Broncos fell behind big early and had to abandon the run, which is not a formula conducive of success for a plodding power back. The return of Chase Edmonds (6/31/0) and the presence of Marlon Mack (4/22/0) hurts the veteran starter's value moving forward. Murray is still the preferred option in Denver's backfield, but his upside is limited heading into a matchup against Kansas City on Sunday.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Gets into end zone on Christmas

Wilson carried the ball nine times for 37 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Packers. He also caught one of two targets for three yards.

His one-yard TD plunge early in the second quarter gave Miami a 17-10 lead, but the Dolphins' offense imploded and committed four turnovers after that. Wilson has gotten into the end zone in four of his last six games but hasn't reached 40 rushing yards in four straight, giving him limited fantasy appeal heading into a Week 17 clash with the Patriots.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Tough day in loss to Green Bay

Mostert carried the ball eight times for 45 yards and caught two of three targets for four yards in Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Packers.

The running back got off to a quick start, gaining 14 and 17 yards on his first two totes, but Mostert got contained after that and committed a fumble late in the second quarter that led to a Packers field goal and kicked off a Green Bay comeback from a 20-10 deficit. Mostert has failed to reach 50 rushing yards in three of the last four games but popped for 156 scrimmage yards in the fourth, making him a high-risk, high-reward option in Week 17 against the Patriots.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Rams' Cam Akers: Goes off for three scores

Akers rushed 23 times for 118 yards and three touchdowns while catching both of his targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 51-14 win over Denver.

Akers appeared to be in the holiday spirit after gifting his fantasy managers three scores on Christmas Day. This was easily the 23-year-old's best performance of his career, which is especially impressive considering it came against one of the league's top defenses. Akers started the year in head coach Sean McVay's doghouse, but he has come on strong in recent weeks to rescue a Rams rushing attack that was on life support. The 2020 second-round pick is averaging 71.3 rushing yards with six total touchdowns in four games since taking over as the team's lead back. Akers can safely be viewed as an RB2 heading into a matchup against the Chargers on Jan. 1.

  • 49ers' Tyrion Davis-Price: Unexpected role elevation

Davis-Price rushed nine times for 30 yards in Saturday's 37-20 win over the Commanders.

Davis-Price was elevated to the No. 2 spot on the running back depth chart despite being kept as a healthy scratch in recent weeks. Regular backup Jordan Mason missed practice with a tight hamstring, perhaps leading to the unexpected game plan change in Week 16. If head coach Kyle Shanahan decides to stick with TDP as his change-of-pace back against Las Vegas next Sunday, he could provide value as a cheap flier in DFS formats.

  • Hassan Haskins RB | LAC

Titans' Hassan Haskins: Only works as pass catcher

Haskins recorded two receptions on two targets for 17 yards in Saturday's 19-14 loss to the Texans. He did not have a rushing attempt.

Haskins was the only running back besides Derrick Henry to take the field for Tennessee, but he still played only 15 snaps. His impact was limited to work as a pass catcher, both of which came in the Titans' final offensive possession in a comeback scenario. Haskins is likely to play a minimal role so long as Henry remains on the field.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Scores Christmas Day touchdown

Dillon carried the ball 11 times for 36 yards and a touchdown and caught two of three targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Dolphins.

His one-yard TD plunge in the third quarter tied the game at 20-20, and the Packers' defense dominated the final frame to secure the win. Dillon led Green Bay in carries and rushing yards with Aaron Jones (ankle) hurting, so even though the big back didn't fully take advantage of the opportunity, he could be poised for an increased workload in a must-win Week 17 game against the Vikings if Jones isn't 100 percent.

  • Jordan Mason RB | MIN

49ers' Jordan Mason: Limited to special teams Saturday

Mason (hamstring) was active in Saturday's 37-20 win over the Commanders, but he did not receive a carry and logged snaps only on special teams.

Mason's hamstring tightened up during practice this week, but he was ultimately cleared before kickoff. Fellow rookie Tyrion Davis-Price -- who was a healthy scratch for the last two weeks -- took over the backup duties behind Christian McCaffrey and finished with 30 yards on nine carries. Perhaps the decision to limit Mason to special teams was a direct result of him missing practice this week due to injury. The Georgia Tech product was excelling at spelling McCaffrey prior to this unexpected shakeup, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him reclaim that role against the Raiders on Jan. 1.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Plays through ankle injury Sunday

Jones said after Sunday's 26-20 win at Miami that his ankle was "rolled up on" on his first carry of the second half, but he remained available to the Packers offense, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.

Jones had a meager performance for his standards Week 16, recording six carries for 25 yards and hauling in both targets for nine yards. The eight touches matched his fewest of the campaign, which last occurred back in a season-opening loss at Minnesota. Jones' comment after Sunday's game helps to explain his lack of usage, and his status now will be monitored as the Packers prepare for a Week 17 matchup with the Vikings next Sunday, Jan. 1.
