Lions' Trayveon Williams: Tallies 60 yards, touchdown in preseason win
Williams turned 10 carries into 36 yards and a touchdown while adding a 24-yard reception during the Lions' 17-13 preseason win over the Commanders on Saturday.
Williams saw an extended run in Saturday's exhibition contest due to the absences of Jahmyr Gibbs, Isiah Pacheco (knee) and Sione Vaki (back). Williams played a pivotal role for the Lions late in the third quarter, when he turned a pass from Joshua Dobbs into 24 yards before ending the seven-play, 48-yard drive with a one-yard rushing touchdown. Williams figures to be a long shot to make the Lions' 53-man roster by the end of training camp, but he could play his way into a spot on the team's practice squad for the start of the 2026 regular season.

Lions' Trayveon Williams: Suffers injury Saturday
Williams suffered a concussion during Detroit's preseason loss to the Commanders on Saturday, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.
Williams signed with the team just last week but has already picked up an injury. The 28-year-old will need to clear the league's concussion protocol before he's eligible to return and will likely face an uphill battle to earn a roster spot once healthy.

Lions' Trayveon Williams: Signs with Detroit
The Lions signed Williams to a contract Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
With Jacob Saylors (ankle) and Kye Robichaux (foot) both suffering lower-leg injuries, the running back depth for the Lions has taken a significant hit since Thursday. Williams was likely signed to bolster the preseason corps. The 28-year-old played in three regular-season games for the Chargers last year, playing 56 total snaps and rushing three times for a loss of one yard.

Browns' Trayveon Williams: Minor role in season finale
Williams had one carry for seven yards and caught one of two targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 20-18 win over Cincinnati in Week 18. He also returned three kickoffs for 73 yards.
Williams finished out the regular season as the third back and primary kickoff returner. He spent time with the Browns during the preseason and was cut from the team's practice squad before eventually returning in December. In four games on Cleveland's active roster, Williams had seven carries for 37 yards, caught seven of eight targets for 55 yards and averaged 23.2 yards over six kickoff returns. Williams enters the offseason as a free agent and could be brought back to compete for a depth role.

Browns' Trayveon Williams: Two offensive touches in win
Williams had two carries for 10 yards in Sunday's 13-6 win over the Steelers in Week 17. He also returned one kickoff for 25 yards.
Dylan Sampson's return from an ankle injury left Williams has the third back behind Sampson and Raheim Sanders. Williams was added to Cleveland's 53-man roster a few weeks ago, while the Browns coped with injuries, and he has carved out a minor role in the backfield. The most significant of those injuries was to Quinshon Judkins (ankle/leg) last week, but with everyone else healthy, Williams isn't likely to see a much bigger workload in Week 18 against the Bengals.

Browns' Trayveon Williams: Expanded role due to Judkins injury
Williams rushed three times for 17 yards and brought in all four targets for 38 yards in the Browns' 23-20 loss to the Bills on Sunday.
After Quinshon Judkins exited the game in the second quarter with what was eventually diagnosed as a broken fibula and dislocated ankle, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Williams and Raheim Sanders both saw expanded roles. Williams operated in a change-of-pace and pass-catching role, actually pacing the Browns in receiving yards on the afternoon. Williams projects for additional opportunity over the final two games of the season due to Judkins' absence, but Dylan Sampson (calf/hand) could potentially join the backfield mix in a Week 17 home matchup against the Steelers after missing the last two games.

Williams is in line to back up Quinshon Judkins in Week 16, as Dylan Sampson (hand) has been ruled out, per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
The Browns were in a similar situation last week when Williams made his Cleveland debut, as both Sampson and Jerome Ford (shoulder) were unavailable. It was somewhat surprising that Williams got the nod as the top backup ahead of Raheim Sanders, who's been with the organization all season. However it shakes out Sunday against the Bills, neither of the backups are expected to play a significant role as long as Judkins is healthy.

Williams had one carry for three yards and caught both of his targets for four yards in Sunday's 31-3 loss to Chicago in Week 15. He also returned two kickoffs for 41 yards.
Williams, who was signed off the Chargers' practice squad early in the week, was making his Cleveland debut. The Browns were down two backs, as both Dylan Sampson (calf) and Jerome Ford (shoulder) were unavailable. It's noteworthy that Williams was allotted 19 snaps, while Raheim Sanders, who has been with the Browns all season, was active but did not play. Once Sampson is healthy enough to play, Williams will slip back a spot on the depth chart, if not off the roster entirely.

Browns' Trayveon Williams: Signed to Cleveland's active roster
The Browns signed Williams off the Chargers' practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Williams joined the Chargers' practice squad in late October after being cut by the Browns in early September. He appeared in three regular-season games for the Bolts, but he'll get a new opportunity in Cleveland, where he'll provide backfield depth behind Raheim Sanders and rookies Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson.

Williams elevated for the third game in a row ahead of Sunday's 31-14 win over the Raiders, failing to record any stats while playing 14 snaps on special teams. The running back didn't garner an offensive snap while Kimani Vidal (51) and Jaret Patterson (15) operated ahead of him in the backfield.
