  • Chiefs' Gardner Minshew: Torn ACL feared

There are fears that Minshew suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's 26-9 loss to the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Minshew is slated to undergo additional tests to confirm the severity of his injury, but it looks like he's in line to miss the Chiefs' last two games, based on initial reports. If so, Chris Oladokun would be in line to draw the start at QB for Kansas City on Thursday against the Broncos.

  • Will Howard QB | PIT

Steelers' Will Howard: Emergency QB again for Week 16

Howard (coach's decision) is inactive and will serve as Pittsburgh's emergency third quarterback Sunday against Detroit.

This is Howard's usual role, as both Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph are ahead of him on the QB depth chart. The only way Howard can enter the contest Sunday is if both Rodgers and Rudolph have to exit due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Chiefs' Gardner Minshew: Not returning to Sunday's contest

Minshew (knee) won't return to Sunday's game against the Titans.

Prior to his exit, Minshew completed three of his eight pass attempts for 15 yards and carried once for eight yards. In his absence, Chris Oladokun has taken over as the Chiefs' QB for the remainder of Sunday's contest.

  • J.J. McCarthy QB | MIN

Vikings' J.J. McCarthy: Hurts hand Sunday

McCarthy won't return to Sunday's game against the Giants after sustaining a hand injury.

McCarthy, who finishes the contest with 108 passing yards and a pick to go along with two carries for 20 yards and a TD, will thus target a potential return to action Thursday against the Lions. In his absence Sunday, Max Brosmer will take over at QB for the Vikings.

  • Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN

Broncos' Sam Ehlinger: Deemed emergency QB for Week 16

Ehlinger (coach's decision) is inactive against Jacksonville on Sunday and will be Denver's emergency third quarterback.

Ehlinger was elevated for the second straight week but isn't active Sunday. Instead, he'll serve as the Broncos' emergency quarterback, meaning he can enter the game only if both Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham are forced to exit due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Chiefs' Gardner Minshew: Hurts knee Sunday

Minshew was forced out of Sunday's game against the Titans with a knee injury.

With Patrick Mahomes (knee) done for the season, Minshew drew the start in his place Sunday. Following his exit from the contest, Chris Oladokun is in at QB for the Chiefs.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Giants' Russell Wilson: Will be emergency QB again Week 16

Wilson (coach's decision) is inactive and serving as New York's emergency third quarterback in Sunday's matchup against Minnesota, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

This will be the third straight game in which Wilson is the Giants' emergency quarterback. New York appears set on having Jaxson Dart behind center on game days with Jameis Winston as his backup. Wilson will be eligible to play Sunday only if both Dart and Winston have to exit due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Buccaneers' Connor Bazelak: Once again serving as emergency QB

Bazelak (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 16 game against Carolina and will be Tampa Bay's emergency third quarterback, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

This is a familiar role for Bazelak, who has been inactive as the Bucs' emergency quarterback each of the past four weeks. He's yet to make his NFL debut and can do so Sunday only if both Baker Mayfield and Teddy Bridgewater have to exit due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Jets' Justin Fields: Serving as emergency QB in Week 16

Fields (knee) is inactive as the Jets' emergency No. 3 quarterback for Sunday's game in New Orleans.

New York will go with Brady Cook as its starting quarterback for the second week in a row, after neither Tyrod Taylor (groin/knee) and Fields (knee) were available for last Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. Both Taylor and Fields took part in all three of the Jets' practices this week, but Taylor will get the nod as Cook's top backup after putting in a full session Friday, whereas Fields was limited in each practice. The Jets haven't indicated that Cook will retain the starting gig for Weeks 17 and 18, but a strong showing against New Orleans would bolster his odds of holding down the job for the rest of the season.

  • Bengals' Jake Browning: Emergency QB3 vs. Miami

Browning (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Bengals' emergency third quarterback against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Browning will serve as the Bengals' emergency QB3 for a fourth consecutive week, which means he is not allowed to play Sunday unless both Joe Burrow and Joe Flacco were to leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
