  • Trevor Siemian QB | ATL

Broncos' Trevor Siemian: Already feeling better

Siemian (shoulder) said Tuesday he is already starting to feel better, the Broncos' official website reports.

Siemian hinted he'll likely miss practice time during the week, but given that he's merely dealing with an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder, it won't come as any shock if he's able to start against the Falcons on Sunday. A decision won't come until later in the week, and head coach Gary Kubiak already said Siemian will get the nod over Paxton Lynch if the 24-year-old quarterback is indeed healthy enough to play. Lynch's success in Tampa Bay on Sunday briefly stirred up a minor controversy, but it now seems Siemian isn't in real danger of losing his job because of an injury.

  • Sam Bradford QB | MIN

Vikings' Sam Bradford: One touchdown in Monday night win

Bradford completed 26 of 36 passes for 262 yards and one touchdown in Monday night's win over the Giants.

Bradford once again looked good running the Vikings' offense, completing passes to a whopping nine different receivers and going a third straight game without committing a turnover. Thanks to a seven-yard pass to tight end Kyle Rudolph in the second quarter, the new Minnesota signal-caller has also thrown at least one touchdown in each of his games with the Vikings. On the back of that impressive start to the season, Bradford will look to keep his momentum going Sunday against the Texans.

  • Brian Hoyer QB | LV

Bears' Brian Hoyer: Could continue to start

Hoyer could keep the Bears' starting quarterback job even when Jay Cutler (thumb) is healthy enough to return, NFL.com reports.

Hoyer has started Chicago's past two games while Cutler has been sidelined, and although Cutler is considered day-to-day entering this week, Hoyer's Week 4 performance may allow him to keep the Bears' first-string job. In earning his team's first victory of the season, Hoyer completed 28 of 36 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns Sunday versus the Lions. That came with top wideout Alshon Jeffery (knee/hamstring) banged up and a rookie fifth-rounder starting at running back. Although Hoyer and Cutler have both proven to be mistake-prone quarterbacks during their respective careers, it appears Hoyer's strong showing Sunday could help him keep Chicago's starting gig for the time being.

  • Trevor Siemian QB | ATL

Broncos' Trevor Siemian: Could be limited in practice

Siemian (shoulder) may not partake in much of practice, but a decision on whether he's healthy enough to start Sunday against the Falcons will come at the end of the week, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Siemian missed the second half of Sunday's win over the Buccaneers due to a shoulder injury, and although his absence allowed rookie Paxton Lynch to come in and impress, Siemian will start Sunday against the Falcons, if healthy. That determination is expected to come later in the week, even though Siemian may not practice much. Coach Gary Kubiak feels confident in Siemian's ability to play with limited on-field preparation, so the state of his injured, non-throwing shoulder should ultimately determine whether he maintains Denver's starting job or offers Lynch a first career start in his absence.

  • Trevor Siemian QB | ATL

Broncos' Trevor Siemian: Anticipated to play Sunday

Siemian (shoulder) is planned by coach Gary Kubiak to be ready to play Sunday against the Falcons, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Siemian was knocked out of Sunday's game with a shoulder injury just before halftime, but afterward was reported to be day-to-day due to the ailment. Judging by Kubiak's comments regarding Siemian on Monday, that seems to be the case, as the Broncos' coach expects to have him ready by Sunday. Although Siemian's practice involvement should help clarify his status throughout this week, rookie Paxton Lynch's first career start may have to be pushed back if Siemian can indeed return to the lineup this weekend.

  • Jameis Winston QB | NYG

Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Struggles against stalwart Broncos defense

Winston completed 17 of 35 passes for 179 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 27-7 loss to the Broncos. He also gained 19 yards and scored a touchdown on five rushes and fumbled once but recovered.

The sophomore quarterback gave the Bucs some hope with a seven-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that knotted the score at 7-7. Unfortunately for Winston and Tampa, that was the closest they got to the Broncos, who endured the loss of starting QB Tracy Siemian to a shoulder injury to still cruise to a relatively easy victory. Winston averaged only 5.1 yards per attempt while getting sacked five times. The 22-year-old did curtail his amount of throws significantly after putting the ball up a combined 110 times over the prior two games, but also posted his lowest yardage total since Week 8 against the Falcons in his rookie 2015 season. Winston and the Bucs will take on the Panthers in a road tilt on Monday Night Football in Week 5.

  • Paxton Lynch QB | PIT

Broncos' Paxton Lynch: Throws first career touchdown

Lynch connected on 14 of 24 targets for 170 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay.

Lynch came in in relief of Trevor Siemian after the latter left the game with a shoulder injury shortly before half time. Despite all the pre-draft talk about Lynch having a large learning curve to adjust to the pro game, head coach Gary Kubiak had Lynch come out throwing - attempting seven passes on his first full drive to set up a field goal before half time. He settled into a groove in the second half and flashed the big arm and athleticism that made him a first-round pick and projects well in Gary Kubiak's boot-action offense. If Trevor Siemian is healthy, it's hard to imagine that he won't start next Sunday. If he's not, the Lynch era may begin earlier than expected and, if he plays like he did on Sunday, he may not relinquish the job.

  • Marcus Mariota QB | WAS

Titans' Marcus Mariota: Inaccurate in Houston

Marietta completed just 13 of 29 passes for 202 yards and an interception while scrambling four times for 20 yards in Sunday's 27-20 loss at Houston.

Marietta was unusually inaccurate, and thus deferred to a persistent running game that topped 100 yards and scored both Titans touchdowns. The second-year quarterback has an unimpressive 4:5 touchdown to interception ratio, which is discouraging given that he was picked off only 10 times to go with 19 touchdown passes as a rookie. His usual top two targets (Tajae Sharpe and Delanie Walker) were both playing through hamstring injuries, and looked limited in hauling in a combined four of 15 targets. Hopefully their improved health will lead to a stronger Week 5 performance out of Mariota in Miami.

  • Trevor Siemian QB | ATL

Broncos' Trevor Siemian: Knocked out of Sunday's win

Siemian (shoulder) completed five of seven passes for 68 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. He was knocked out of the game right before halftime, but believes that he could have gone back in and is seen as day-to-day, Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post reports.

Siemian led the team to two touchdown drives before getting knocked out, but both of those drives started in very favorable field position after Aqib Talib interceptions. Otherwise, Siemian and the Broncos offense struggled with Tampa Bay's pass rush. Rookie Paxton Lynch entered game on short order and flashed a big arm and level of athleticism that Siemian, despite his strong start to the season, hasn't shown that he can match. If Siemian is healthy, he's a fair bet to remain the starter. If not, the future might be now for Denver and if Lynch maintains the level of play he showed on Sunday - the Siemian era might fail to last more than 14 quarters.

  • 49ers' Blaine Gabbert: Crucial interception leads to loss versus Cowboys

Gabbert completed 16 of 23 passes for 196 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's game against the Cowboys. He added 27 rushing yards on 12 carries in the 24-17 loss.

Gabbert led San Francisco out to a 14-0 lead on the first two drives, but he was ineffective after that and managed fewer than 60 passing yards the rest of the game. He appeared competent as a runner at times, but his overall rushing numbers left a lot to be desired. Now 1-3 and averaging just 182 yards through the air after four starts, it remains to be seen how long Gabbert will remain the starter ahead of Colin Kaepernick. Things will not get any easier for Gabbert, as he will face the formidable Cardinals defense at home in Week 5.
