  • Chargers' Dustin Hopkins: Inks deal with Chargers

Hopkins signed a contract with the Chargers on Tuesday, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.

Hopkins was let go by Washington last week but it didn't take him long to latch on with a new team. He went 12-for-14 on field goals and 10-for-12 on PATs before being released, and he should now benefit from Los Angeles' more explosive offense. Tristan Vizcaino, who missed one field goal and five extra points in six games, was cut by the Chargers in a corresponding move.

  • Jason Myers K | SEA

Seahawks' Jason Myers: Misses twice in defeat

Myers missed two of his three field-goal attempts and made his only extra-point try in Monday night's 13-10 loss to the Saints.

Myers missed from 44 and 53 yards, which, despite converting a 50-yarder in between, contributed to a narrow defeat in rainy conditions. The veteran now sports just 36 points through seven games this season, placing him outside the top 20 league-wide at his position.

  • Chiefs' Harrison Butker: First misfire of season

Butker connected on one of his two field-goal attempts Sunday versus the Titans.

Butker missed his first kick of the season late in the third quarter Sunday, missing a 57-yard attempt that had little impact on a game sporting a 27-3 score at the time. It was an uncharacteristically poor showing from the Chiefs' offense this week, but the team should have a good chance to bounce back next week versus the Giants.

  • Wil Lutz K | DEN

Saints' Wil Lutz: Rules self out for season

Lutz announced Tuesday via his personal Twitter account that he had a setback in his recovery from core-muscle surgery and won't play in 2021.

Lutz underwent the procedure in early August. Last week, the Saints designated him to return from injured reserve in the hope that he would be ready to kick for the team by midseason. Unfortunately for Lutz he hit a snag in his recovery, prompting him to rule out a return in 2021. He'll revert to injured reserve for the rest of the season once his 21-day evaluation window officially comes to a close in early November, paving the way for Brian Johnson to handle kicking duties for the Saints moving forward. Johnson, the third kicker the Saints have used this season, made his NFL debut in Monday's 13-10 win over the Seahawks and converted both of his field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try.

  • Ravens' Justin Tucker: Connects on 45-yarder Sunday

Tucker connected on a 45-yard field goal and converted both of his extra-point attempts Sunday against the Bengals.

Baltimore had trouble getting the offense in gear Sunday, being held to 17 points. Tucker was still automatic and has not missed a field goal since Week 3, a span of seven attempts. The Ravens are on bye before returning to action Week 9 against the Vikings.

  • Jake Elliott K | PHI

Eagles' Jake Elliott: No field goals in loss

Elliott did not attempt a field goal in Sunday's 33-22 loss to the Raiders. He was perfect on his two extra-point tries.

Elliott has one or zero field-goal attempts in three of his last five games. He has a nice matchup on tap in Week 8 against the Lions, however.

  • Raiders' Daniel Carlson: Misses second XP of season

Carlson made both of his field-goal attempts and converted three of four extra-point tries in Sunday's 33-22 win over the Eagles.

Carlson failed to convert just four total extra-point attempts throughout his first 44 games as a Raider, but he's now missed a pair over his past five contests. Nonetheless, he's accounted for 58 total points through the first seven weeks of the regular season.

  • Matt Prater K | BUF

Cardinals' Matt Prater: Puts up seven points Sunday

Prater made his only field-goal attempt and all four point-after tries during Sunday's 31-5 win versus the Texans.

Prater's seven points were his second fewest of the season -- tied with Week 3 at Jacksonville -- but he remains embedded in the top five in scoring in the NFL at nine points per game (tied with the Patriots' Nick Folk). As a beneficiary of the Cardinals' Kyler Murray-led offense, Prater can continue to be utilized in lineups on a weekly basis, including Thursday's showdown with the Packers.

  • Wil Lutz K | DEN

Saints' Wil Lutz: Not returning Monday

The Saints didn't activate Lutz (core) from injured reserve Monday, making him ineligible to play Week 8 at Seattle, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Lutz was designated to return from IR last Monday, but one week wasn't enough for him to get back to 100 percent from the core muscle surgery he underwent in early August. He'll thus aim to be available Sunday against the Buccaneers, but in the meantime New Orleans will roll with undrafted rookie Brian Johnson at kicker.

  • Joey Slye K | TEN

49ers' Joey Slye: Six points on SNF

Slye went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts but missed his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 30-18 loss to the Colts.

Slye had to deal with rough weather in Santa Clara on Sunday, as winds were swirling and the rain was continuous throughout the entire contest. While the 25-year-old missed an extra point, he did manage to hit an impressive 56-yard field goal in the poor conditions. Robbie Gould (groin) will be forced to miss at least one more contest, so Slye is lined up to get another start against the Bears next Sunday.
