  • Tyler Freeman RF | COL

Rockies' Tyler Freeman: Scratched with back tightness

Freeman was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies due to lower-back tightness.

The 26-year-old was scheduled to start in right field and bat second, but he'll instead remain on the bench. Freeman missed the start of the season due to lower-back inflammation, and it's expected to be an injury he contends with throughout the campaign.

  • Sal Frelick RF | MIL

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Held out of Sunday's lineup

Frelick (side) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Frelick exited Saturday's contest and will be sidelined for at least one game. The full extent of the injury to his side isn't clear, but it was reported after Saturday's contest that it's not believed to be an oblique strain. Blake Perkins, Brandon Lockridge and Luis Matos are starting from left to right in the outfield for Sunday's series finale in Kansas City.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Getting breather Sunday

Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Smith started the previous four games behind the plate and will receive Sunday off after going 5-for-17 with a walk and two runs during that stretch. Dalton Rushing will handle the catching for righty Roki Sasaki in the series finale.

  • Jacob Young CF | WAS

Nationals' Jacob Young: Not in Sunday's lineup

Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Young finds himself on the bench Sunday after a run of three straight starts, during which he went 3-for-9 with two walks, a steal, an RBI and two runs. Joey Wiemer is shifting to center field and Daylen Lile to left, opening up the DH spot for Jose Tena.

  • Brady House 3B | WAS

Nationals' Brady House: Out of Sunday's lineup

House is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

House went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Saturday's contest and will take a seat Sunday after starting the previous three games. Jorbit Vivas is instead handling the hot corner in the series finale.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Late scratch Sunday

Baty was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants for unspecified reasons.

Bat was penciled in to start in right field but will instead move to the bench, presumably due to an injury. Jared Young will take his place in the lineup for Sunday's series finale in San Francisco.

  • George Klassen SP | LAA

Angels' George Klassen: Called up for MLB debut

The Angels selected Klassen's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake to start Sunday's game against the Mariners, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

The 24-year-old missed out on the Halos' Opening Day rotation despite a strong showing during spring training, but he'll now make his MLB debut Sunday after Ryan Johnson (illness) was a late scratch. Klassen gave up one run with five strikeouts over 4.2 frames during his lone start for Salt Lake this year and struggled at the Double-A level in 2025 with a 5.35 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 126:46 K:BB across 102.2 innings.

  • Ryan Johnson RP | LAA

Angels' Ryan Johnson: Scratched with illness

Johnson won't start as scheduled Sunday against the Mariners due to an illness, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Johnson's second start of the season will be pushed back since he's feeling under the weather. George Klassen will instead take the mound for the Angels in the series finale.

  • Chris Paddack SP | CIN

Marlins' Chris Paddack: Following opener Sunday

Paddack won't start as scheduled Sunday against the Yankees but is expected to follow opener Pete Fairbanks, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.

Fairbanks, who is Miami's closer, will instead start Sunday before stepping away from the club for a few days while on the paternity list. Paddack's fantasy outlook shouldn't change much as a result of the switch. He's looking for a bounce-back performance after surrendering eight runs during his season debut.

  • Pete Fairbanks RP | MIA

Marlins' Pete Fairbanks: Serving as opener Sunday

Fairbanks will start Sunday's game against the Yankees before being placed on the paternity list Monday, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.

Sunday's contest is starting in a rain delay, and Fairbanks will be used as an opener to allow him to leave the team a bit earlier and join his growing family. The right-hander should be back with the Marlins by Thursday's game versus the Reds. Calvin Faucher, Anthony Bender and Andrew Nardi are the top candidates for save chances while Fairbanks is unavailable as closer.
