White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Promotion not locked in

The White Sox have discussed the option of calling up Antonacci from Triple-A Charlotte, but the team has "nothing in motion as of yet" in terms of promoting him, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

Multiple sources reported Saturday that the White Sox were planning to select Antonacci's contract ahead of their three-game home series versus the Rays that begins Tuesday, but Levine relays that the organization has merely considered a promotion for the 23-year-old at this stage. Even if he isn't in line to get called up during the upcoming week, Antonacci likely won't have to wait much longer before making his big-league debut. He's gotten off to a sizzling start through his first 13 games with Charlotte, slashing .289/.484/.444 with two home runs and five steals while striking out just seven times in 63 plate appearances.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Posts three RBI in multi-hit game

Schanuel went 2-for-3 with three RBI, a run scored and two walks in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Reds.

Schanuel matched a season high in RBI on Sunday, drawing multiple walks for the third time this year as well. The first baseman has hit third in the lineup in 12 of his first 14 appearances, so he should have plenty of RBI chances batting behind Zach Neto and Mike Trout going forward. Through 65 plate appearances, Schanuel is slashing .232/.323/.375 with two home runs, two doubles and 11 RBI.

  • Zac Gallen SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Falters late in no-decision

Gallen did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Phillies, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk with two strikeouts over five innings.

Gallen opened with five scoreless frames before allowing five straight hits and three runs without recording an out in the sixth. It was a tough finish to an otherwise solid outing, though he generated just four swinging strikes on 84 pitches and yielded 15 hard-hit balls. The 30-year-old owns a 3.60 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 11:7 K:BB across 20 innings in the early going and lines up for a home matchup against the Blue Jays next weekend.

  • Andrew Abbott SP | CIN

Reds' Andrew Abbott: Hit around in short outing

Abbott (0-2) took the loss Sunday against the Angels, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks in three innings. He struck out one.

The left-hander was never quite able to find his footing, holding the Angels scoreless in just one of his three innings on the afternoon. Sunday disrupted a three-start streak with at least five innings to open the new year for Abbott, who gave up a season-high eight knocks as well. Abbott owns a rocky 5.85 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB over 20 frames so far, and he'll also be trying to get into the win column for the first time this year in his next scheduled outing against the Twins.

Sewald earned the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Phillies, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

He's kept opponents scoreless in six of eight appearances this season while converting all five of his save opportunities. Overall, the 35-year-old owns a 2.84 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 9:0 K:BB through his first 6.1 innings.

  • Cam Cannarella OF | MIA

Marlins' Cam Cannarella: Out with fractured wrist

Cannarella suffered a fractured wrist Saturday while playing for High-A Beloit and is expected to be out for 6-to-8 weeks, FishOnFirst.com reports.

Cannarella ended up taking on the brunt of a collision in the outfield with a teammate while he was in pursuit of a fly ball and appears likely to be held out of action until at least early June. The 22-year-old was in the midst of a strong start to the Midwest League season, producing a .368/.440/.579 slash line with one home run and one stolen base across 25 plate appearances.

  • Jose Soriano RP | LAA

Angels' Jose Soriano: Incredible start continues in win

Soriano (4-0) earned the win Sunday against the Reds, allowing no runs on two hits and three walks in seven innings. He struck out 10.

Soriano continues to deal for the Angels, having now fired at least six innings while yielding one run or zero during his four-start win streak to open the new campaign. The right-hander has piled up 10 strikeouts in consecutive outings, and he threw a season-high 106 pitches Sunday. Soriano is in possession of a sterling 0.33 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 31:9 K:BB over 27 innings across his first four appearances, and he'll be aiming to keep the good times rolling his next time out versus the Padres.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Hits first homer Sunday

Turner went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Turner tied the game with a two-run blast in the sixth inning before adding a single in the seventh. The long ball was his first of the season, and he's now hit safely in eight of 10 April contests with three multi-hit efforts during that stretch. For the year, he's slashing .254/.299/.365 with one homer, five RBI, 11 runs scored and one steal across 67 plate appearances.

  • Otto Lopez SS | MIA

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Strong start continues

Lopez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-2 loss to Detroit.

Lopez left the yard for the second time this season, accounting for Miami's entire offense Sunday. The shortstop has hit safely in all but three of his first 15 games, tallying multiple knocks in six outings. Overall, Lopez is batting a hot .327 with seven extra-base hits, six RBI, 10 runs scored and two stolen bases.

  • Tarik Skubal SP | DET

Tigers' Tarik Skubal: Regains form in second win

Skubal (2-2) earned the win Sunday against the Marlins, allowing one run on two hits and two walks in 6.2 innings. He struck out seven.

It was an excellent bounce-back performance for the All-Star southpaw, who was knocked around for a season-worst eight runs against the Twins his last time out. Skubal poured in 62 of his 96 pitches for strikes on the afternoon, and it was the third time already in 2026 that he fired at least six frames while yielding one run or zero. Skubal is taking a stellar 2.22 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 23:4 K:BB into his next appearance, which is slated to come in Boston versus the Red Sox.
