  • Rays' Ben Williamson: Sitting after six straight starts

Williamson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

Williamson will retreat to the bench after he had started in each of the Rays' last six games. Five of those starts came against left-handed pitching, so despite his recent uptick in playing time, Williamson still appears to be viewed primarily as a platoon partner for the left-handed-hitting Richie Palacios at second base.

  • Matt Brash RP | SEA

Mariners' Matt Brash: Cleared for bullpen session

Brash (lat) will throw a bullpen session Monday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

It will be the first time he's thrown from the bump since he landed on the 15-day injured list at the beginning of May with right lat inflammation. Brash is eligible for activation from the IL on Friday and has a chance to return on that date, though the Mariners might want to have him make a rehab appearance or two first.

  • Nick Fortes C | TB

Rays' Nick Fortes: Taking seat Monday

Fortes is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

The Rays will give Fortes a breather after he started behind the plate in each of their last four games. Hunter Feduccia will enter the lineup as Fortes' replacement, catching and batting eighth in the series opener.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Yankees' Jose Caballero: Sent for MRI on injured finger

Caballero will undergo an MRI after injuring his right middle finger while diving back into first base during Sunday's game in Milwaukee, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Caballero is optimistic nothing is broken, but more clarity on his status will be gained after the MRI results are in. Max Schuemann is starting at shortstop Monday in Baltimore in Caballero's place. However, if Caballero winds up requiring an extended absence, the Yankees would likely recall Anthony Volpe from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Astros' Braden Shewmake: Seeing time at shortstop vs. RHPs

Shewmake will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Mariners, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

For the Astros' third consecutive matchup versus a right-handed starter, the left-handed-hitting Shewmake has received the nod over the right-handed-hitting Nick Allen at shortstop. Assuming the Astros continue to take a platoon approach to shortstop, Shewmake will likely see the bulk of the starts at the position in the short term, but Jeremy Pena (hamstring) is set to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday or Wednesday and could settle back atop the depth chart by the weekend.

  • Nate Pearson RP | HOU

Astros' Nate Pearson: Will return as reliever

Pearson (elbow) is being built up as a reliever on his rehab assignment, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

When Pearson was signed by the Astros over the offseason, the intention was to stretch him out to be an option for the rotation. However, the club has reversed course and will bring Pearson back as a member of its bullpen. Pearson -- who has pitched predominately as a reliever in the majors -- has posted a 9.53 ERA and 8:10 K:BB over 5.2 frames in his four rehab appearances.

  • Jake Meyers CF | HOU

Astros' Jake Meyers: Rehab assignment on tap

Meyers (oblique) is slated to begin a rehab assignment this week, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

It's not clear when or where exactly his rehab assignment will get kicked off, but it will be Meyers' first game action in more than a month, as he's been shelved by a Grade 2 right oblique strain. The Astros have been using Brice Matthews and Zach Cole in center field lately, but Meyers could reclaim his spot at the top of the depth chart once he's deemed ready for activation.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Sitting against lefty again

Moncada is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moncada is a switch hitter, but he's handled right-handed pitching much better throughout his career and even more dramatically so in 2026. He'll be held out of the lineup for the second game in a row while the Angels face another southpaw starter (Joey Cantillo), paving the way for Vaughn Grissom to pick up a start at third base.

  • Joshua Lowe RF | LAA

Angels' Josh Lowe: On bench against lefty

Lowe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Lowe will hit the bench for the second day in a row while the Angels face another lefty starter (Joey Cantillo) to begin their three-game set in Cleveland. Bryce Teodosio will cover left field in place of Lowe, who has gone 1-for-15 with zero walks and five strikeouts against southpaws on the season.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Yankees' Jose Caballero: Not in Monday's lineup

Caballero is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest in Baltimore.

Caballero missed a start last week with swelling in his left elbow that was as a result of a hit-by-pitch. He returned to the lineup for the three games after that, however, so this appears to be a simple day off. Max Schuemann will play shortstop and bat eighth for the Yankees.
