The Giants transferred Schmitt (knee) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

The move opens up a spot on the 26-man roster for Yunior Marte, who will start in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks. Schmitt underwent surgery in late July to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He's technically eligible to return in the last days of the regular season, but he'll likely be sidelined for the rest of the year given that the Giants are all but eliminated from postseason contention.

The Giants optioned Lonsway to Triple-A Sacramento following Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks.

Lonsway was promoted from the minors ahead of Saturday's doubleheader and officially made his major-league debut in Game 1, when he allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits while striking out two batters across two frames. He'll head back down to Triple-A in order to make room on the active roster for Yunior Marte, who will start in the nightcap.

The Giants selected Marte's contract from Double-A Richmond ahead of his scheduled start against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

The move is now official, with Marte joining the Giants to start in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader. He has made 13 starts in Double-A since early June, posting a 3.92 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 72:22 K:BB over 64.1 innings. In corresponding moves, Seth Lonsway was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento and Casey Schmitt (knee) was transferred to the 60-day injured list.

Anderson allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three across 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Anderson kept the Blue Jays off the board through the first four innings of Saturday's start. He was brought back out for the fifth but was pulled after allowing two men on base, both of whom came home to score later in the frame. Anderson tossed 85 pitches (54 strikes) while generating eight whiffs against Toronto, and he'll likely stay around that 80-pitch limit over the final stretch of the regular season. Across his first two major-league outings, the 22-year-old southpaw has allowed five runs on eight hits and five walks while striking out eight over 10 frames. Anderson is lined up to take on the Athletics at home next week.

Raleigh went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and an additional run scored during Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Raleigh put the Mariners on the board early with a solo homer in the second inning before coming home to score in the fourth on a two-run single by Taylor Ward. Raleigh has struggled at the plate for most of the season but has been heating up in August. Over his last 12 games, Raleigh has gone 10-for-33 (.303) with seven home runs, 10 RBI and eight runs scored.

Abreu went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Yankees in the first game of a doubleheader.

The Red Sox had all the runs they needed in the first inning, when Abreu turned on a sinker from left-hander Carlos Rodon for his 23rd home run of the season. That sets a career high for the outfielder, who snapped an 11-game homer drought. He was often benched against lefties the last couple of seasons, but Abreu has more than held his own against southpaws in 2026, posting a .908 OPS against them.

Agnos didn't factor into the decision against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing no runs on two hits and one walk in 2.2 relief innings. He struck out one.

The Rockies went with a bullpen game, and Agnos opened the contest as well as Colorado could have hoped. It was the right-hander's third starting assignment of the year, and he's been effective with a 1.69 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB in 10.2 innings out of the rotation versus a 6.09 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB across 68 innings from the bullpen. He's worked at least five innings just one time this season and has yet to reach the 80-pitch marker, so Agnos may struggle for streaming appeal if he draws another start.

Varland picked up the save in Saturday's 4-3 win over Seattle, striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.

The Blue Jays rallied from a 3-0 deficit to score four runs across the fifth and sixth innings, prompting the call for Varland to close things out in the ninth. The right-hander needed 12 pitches (eight strikes) to secure the save, striking out Taylor Ward in the process. Varland has logged a save in seven of his last eight outings and is up to 31 saves on the year, which is tied with David Bednar for fifth-most in the majors. Varland sports a 1.18 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 84:18 K:BB over 68.2 innings this season.

Moreno is not in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Giants.

Moreno went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Game 1, a 7-1 win for Arizona. He'll be idle for the second game of the twin bill, with James McCann starting behind home plate and batting seventh.

Whitlock struck out one over a scoreless inning and picked up a hold in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Yankees in the first game of a doubleheader.

Whitlock was reinstated from the injured list Saturday and put to work immediately in the eighth inning of a close game. The Red Sox led 2-0 at the time, which fits his role as a setup reliever for closer Aroldis Chapman, and picked up his 22nd hold. It turns out the closer wasn't needed as Boston scored four times in the top of the ninth. Whitlock entered the game with a 1.21 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 32:1 K:BB over his previous 31 outings (29.2 innings).
