Justin Crawford CF | PHI
Phillies' Justin Crawford: Idle for series finale
Crawford is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
The Phillies will hold the left-handed-hitting Crawford out for just the second time this season, shielding him from Cubs lefty Shota Imanaga while adding another right-handed bat (Otto Kemp) to the starting outfield. Crawford has done well early on to hold his own at the plate with a .288 average and .755 OPS, but the rookie hasn't offered much of an impact on the bases (one steal in two attempts) after swiping 46 bags in 113 Triple-A games in 2025.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Handed day off Wednesday
Stott is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
After slugging a home run and a double in the Phillies' 10-4 loss while filling in for Alec Bohm at third base Tuesday, Edmundo Sosa will stick in the lineup for a second straight game, this time replacing Stott at the keystone. Stott will take a seat after starting in each of the Phillies' last six games while going 5-for-22 (.227 average) with two walks, two stolen bases, an RBI and a run.

Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Handling steady role
Massey will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees.
Massey will be part of the Kansas City lineup for the fifth time in seven games, with his lone two absences during that stretch coming against left-handed starting pitchers. He may have at least temporarily supplanted Jonathan India as the Royals' preferred option at the keystone, but Massey will need to raise his production at the plate to build more job security. Since being activated from the injured list April 6, Massey has gone 2-for-11 with a double and a 0:3 BB:K.

Sam Antonacci SS | CHW
White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Starting at second base in debut
Antonacci will start at second base and bat fifth Wednesday versus the Rays in his major-league debut.
After Antonacci received the call to the big leagues earlier Wednesday, manager Will Venable said that the 23-year-old will mostly play left field for the White Sox, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports. However, Antonacci will be making his debut at second base Wednesday while Chase Meidroth gets a day off. Antonacci slashed .313/.500/.479 at Charlotte to earn the promotion.

Will Benson RF | CIN
Reds' Will Benson: Not starting against righty
Benson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.
Benson will be on the bench for the fourth game in a row, with the Reds having faced three right-handers and one lefty during that stretch. The left-handed-hitting Benson looked as though he might be a candidate to move into a strong-side platoon role after the Reds optioned Noelvi Marte to Triple-A Louisville on Monday, but the newly recalled Rece Hinds may instead get a look as a full-time player in right field.

Patrick Bailey C | SF
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Idle Wednesday
Bailey is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
After starting behind the dish in 13 of the Giants' first 15 games, Bailey will now take a seat for the second time in three contests. Rookie Daniel Susac will draw the start at catcher Wednesday, but Bailey will presumably check back into the lineup for Thursday's series finale.

Heliot Ramos LF | SF
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Hitting bench Wednesday
Ramos is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The 26-year-old will receive an evening off while the Giants make room in their starting outfield for their two new Triple-A call-ups, Will Brennan and Drew Gilbert. Ramos saw his six-game hitting streak come to an end with an 0-for-4 showing in Tuesday's 2-1 loss.
