The Rockies placed Vodnik on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right ulnar nerve inflammation.

Vodnik still leads the Rockies with four saves this season but has struggled mightily over the last month, allowing 14 runs with an 11:9 K:BB over nine innings. He'll now be sidelined for at least the next two weeks. Antonio Senzatela and Juan Mejia are currently the top options for saves in the Colorado bullpen.

Vargas could be available off the bench Wednesday in Seattle after X-rays on his hand came back negative, Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network reports.

Vargas was hit by a Luis Castillo offering in Tuesday's win over the Mariners. He was able to stay in that contest and has avoided a serious injury, but Vargas will get a day out of the lineup in Wednesday's series finale. The White Sox will start Colson Montgomery and Luisangel Acuna on the left side of their infield.

Crawford was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox due to a sore triceps, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Crawford said that his triceps was bothering him while he attempted to play catch, and with a team off day on tap Thursday, the Mariners opted to hold him out of the lineup for the series finale to afford him some extra rest. According to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com, Crawford continued to take part in pregame defensive work after being scratched, so he could be available off the bench Wednesday, if needed. Crawford will likely return to the starting nine for Friday's series opener in Kansas City.

Puk (elbow) threw a 20-pitch live batting practice session Tuesday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Puk faced hitters for the first time since undergoing internal brace surgery on his left elbow last June. Per Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo, Puk's fastball sat in the mid-90s during the throwing session, and the left-hander bounced back well following the workout. The successful live BP session should set Puk up to begin a rehab assignment this weekend in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Garver is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Jhonny Pereda will get the nod behind the plate Wednesday while he and Garver continue to share time at catcher in the absence of Cal Raleigh (oblique), who was placed on the injured list last Thursday. Garver recently overcame a minor back issue of his own, so it's possible that he'll take on a larger share of the catching duties from Pereda once he's further removed from that injury.

An MRI on Gore's left lat came back negative, and he is on track to make his next scheduled start Sunday versus the Angels, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Gore was removed from his start Monday against the Rockies after his lat tightened up on him, but he has managed to avoid a major injury and is trending toward not missing a turn in the rotation. The left-hander has had an up-and-down first 10 starts for the Rangers, collecting a 4.78 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 55:24 K:BB over 49 innings.

The Mets selected Thornton's contract from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday in Washington.

New York optioned reliever Daniel Duarte to the minors to clear room on the active roster for Thornton, who will be making his MLB debut Wednesday. The 24-year-old lefty will get a look in the New York rotation after he compiled a 3.55 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 33:10 K:BB over 33 innings across six starts between Syracuse and Double-A Binghamton. Though Kodai Senga (spine) seems to be trending toward a return from the injured list in the next couple weeks, the back end of the rotation has been a trouble spot for the Mets all season. With that in mind, Thornton could end up sticking around in a starting role on a more permanent basis if he's able to find success in his initial opportunities with the big club.

The Mets optioned Duarte to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.

After being called up from Triple-A on Monday, the 29-year-old made his Mets debut a day later against the Nationals, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. The Mets sent him back to Syracuse in order to make room on the active roster for Wednesday's starting pitcher, Zach Thornton.

Triple-A Charlotte placed Gonzalez on its 7-day injured list April 30 due to a lat strain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Gonzalez posted a 2.57 ERA and 1.00 WHIP while striking out 20 batters over 14 innings out of the Charlotte bullpen before landing on the shelf. The right-hander possesses a spot on the White Sox's 40-man roster, but he won't be an option for the big-league bullpen anytime soon while he continues to recover from the arm injury.

Moreno is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Moreno started the first two games of the series against San Francisco but will receive the day off for the series finale. Prior to Tuesday's 0-for-3 performance, Moreno had been on a tear over the previous four games, going 9-for-19 with a double, a homer, two steals, five RBI and five runs. Adrian Del Castillo will be behind the plate and bat cleanup Wednesday.
