Alderman sports a .286/.375/.486 slash line over his last 10 games for Triple-A Jacksonville with two home runs, one steal, eight runs and eight RBI.

The 23-year-old outfield prospect missed about a month of action after suffering a wrist injury in mid-May, but Alderman returned to the lineup for the Jumbo Shrimp on June 16. After striking out eight times in 13 plate appearances during his first three games back, he's quickly regained his form. Alderman has mainly played right field this season while seeing some action in left field and at first base as well, and a big-league debut in the second half remains possible if he keeps his strikeouts in check.

The Rockies recalled Sullivan from Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.

Sullivan was optioned to Albuquerque on Tuesday, but he's right back up with the big-league club to make a start in place of Tomoyuki Sugano, who was placed on the 15-day IL due to back spasms. Sullivan has struggled during his time with the big-league club this season, recording an 8.64 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 12:9 K:BB over 16.2 innings spanning four starts. However, Colorado doesn't have many other rotation options to turn to, so Sullivan could remain in a starting role beyond Saturday while Sugano recovers.

Ohtani (bicep) isn't in the lineup Saturday versus San Diego.

Ohtani was removed from Friday's matchup after completing six frames as a pitcher and after taking an at-bat as the DH in the bottom of the sixth inning. The superstar slugger said he felt something in his right bicep but suggested that the issue is probably minor. Nonetheless, manager Dave Roberts indicated after Friday's contest that Ohtani wouldn't play Saturday as a precaution, and the two-way star is indeed out of the lineup. In his stead, Andy Pages is getting a day off his feet and serving as Los Angeles' DH. It remains to be seen if Ohtani will be back in the lineup Sunday.

The Yankees optioned Beck to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Beck was called up earlier Saturday to make a start against Minnesota in place of Carlos Rodon (elbow), who landed on the 15-day injured list Friday. Beck was the pitcher of record in the Yankees' 11-4 loss, allowing five runs on five hits (including three home runs) and two walks while striking out three batters over 3.2 innings. The Yankees will need to add a new starter to the mix when the fifth spot in the rotation comes up again Thursday at Tampa Bay.

Shaw (hand) won't be activated from the injured list until after the All-Star break, Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.

Shaw landed on the injured list June 29 due to a sprained left hand. The initial expectation was that the 24-year-old could return when first eligible July 9, but he's now slated to miss at least a bit more time than that. Seiya Suzuki, Michael Conforto and Kevin Alcantara have all gotten starts in right field since Shaw went down.

Gurriel isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Milwaukee.

Gurriel had started five straight contests, going 4-for-20 with a home run, two doubles and three RBI during that span. He'll get at least a partial day off Saturday while Gabriel Moreno moves from behind the plate to get a turn at DH.

O'Hoppe (head) is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Saturday.

O'Hoppe sustained a head injury during Friday's loss to Boston, when he took a foul tip to the mask in the third inning, though it looks like he'll avoid a stint on the 7-day concussion list, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. Tyler Heineman will serve as the Angels' catcher and bat fifth while forming a battery with southpaw Sam Aldegheri.

Jordan is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup against the Cubs.

Jordan had started five straight games for St. Louis, and he's coming off a 3-for-5, three-run performance Friday. However, he'll get a breather Saturday while Jose Fermin gets a chance to start at third base.

Langeliers (thumb) is not in the Athletics' lineup against the Marlins on Saturday, Jason Burke of Roundtable.io reports.

Langeliers injured his left thumb during Friday's game against Miami. The injury will keep him out of Saturday's lineup, so Jonah Heim will handle catching duties while Carlos Cortes serves as the designated hitter. Langeliers' thumb issue could be more serious than a day-to-day designation, given that the Athletics promoted catcher Brian Serven from Triple-A Las Vegas prior to Saturday's game.

Smith isn't starting for Atlanta versus the Mets on Saturday.

The lefty-hitting Smith doesn't usually start against southpaw pitchers, and that's the case Saturday as lefty Sean Manaea is on the mound for the Mets. With Smith beginning on the bench, Drake Baldwin is getting a DH day while Joey Bart takes a turn behind the plate.
