  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Hitless in MLB debut

Eldridge went 0-for-3 with one strikeout in Monday's 8-1 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Eldridge, who was promoted from Triple-A Sacramento to make his big-league debut Monday, didn't quite provide the offensive spark his team was looking for, as the Giants were held to two hits on the night. Even so, the 20-year-old slugger should see a healthy dose of at-bats down the stretch of the regular season in either the DH role or at first base while San Francisco fights to earn a postseason bid.

  • Zack Littell SP | WAS

Reds' Zack Littell: Allows four runs in no-decision

Littell did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing four runs on five hits and no walks over 5.2 innings against St. Louis. He struck out three.

Littell ran out of steam Monday, giving up three of his four runs in the sixth inning before being pulled. Since being dealt at the trade deadline, he hasn't replicated his Tampa Bay form, where he logged a 3.58 ERA across 22 starts and 133.1 innings, instead posting a 4.74 ERA over eight starts and 43.2 frames with Cincinnati.

  • Cardinals' Willson Contreras: Departs with biceps injury

Contreras was removed from Monday's game against the Reds due to right biceps tightness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Contreras was back in the starting lineup Monday after sitting out of Sunday's series finale against Milwaukee due to biceps soreness, but he was pulled in the bottom of the seventh inning due to the same issue. The 33-year-old can be considered day-to-day considering the nature of his injury.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Goes through full workout Monday

Turner (hamstring) went through a full workout in Philadelphia on Monday, MLB.com reports.

Turner is not with the team in Los Angeles on Monday for the start of their road trip, and the Phillies hope the star shortstop will return to action before the regular-season finale on Sept. 28 against Minnesota. Philadelphia won't travel back home until the Sept. 23 contest versus the Marlins, so Turner, who's nursing a Grade 1 right hamstring strain, appears unlikely to make his way back into the lineup for at least another week.

  • Brad Keller RP | PHI

Cubs' Brad Keller: Converts one-out save

Keller struck out the only batter he faced to pick up the save in Monday's 4-0 win at Pittsburgh.

After Chicago reliever Porter Hodge loaded the bases with two out in the ninth, Keller stepped in to fire four pitches and strike out Jared Triolo to wrap the contest. This marks Keller's first save since Daniel Palencia (shoulder) was placed on the injured list Sept. 8, as Andrew Kittredge had collected three consecutive saves since then. Keller has been a revelation out of the bullpen for the Cubs this season, firing a 2.19 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 69:21 K:BB across 65.2 innings. While Kittredge is the odds-on favorite for future save chances, Keller remains in the mix because of his excellent work.

  • Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Notches homer and steal in win

Crow-Armstrong went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a steal and an additional run scored in Monday's 4-0 victory at Pittsburgh.

The Chicago center fielder tallied his team's final run of the contest with a 414-foot solo shot off Pirates reliever Cam Sanders in the sixth. Crow-Armstrong previously nabbed his 35th base of the season, becoming the first Cub to reach that mark since Nico Hoerner swiped 43 in 2023. Through 601 total plate appearances, Crow-Armstrong is now slashing .248/.290/.486 with 29 homers, 87 runs scored and 88 RBI.

  • Pirates' Braxton Ashcraft: Suffers third loss

Ashcraft (4-3) took the loss Monday against the Cubs, conceding three runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

The rookie right-hander stumbled in this 70-pitch outing, as he coughed up a career-worst six hits. Ashcraft strolled through two scoreless frames before faltering in the third, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk. In 62.1 big-league innings, the 25-year-old has produced a 2.74 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 60:23 while bouncing between various roles as a starter and reliever. Given that Ashcraft has already tossed a career-high 110.2 frames across all levels this season, the Pirates will likely limit his usage down the stretch.

  • Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Cruises to 10th win

Taillon (10-6) allowed two hits and two walks over six scoreless frames to pick up the win Monday at Pittsburgh. He struck out three.

The veteran right-hander showed no issues handling the league's lowest scoring lineup in this 88-pitch performance. Taillon conceded just one extra-base hit -- a Spencer Horwitz two-bagger in the sixth -- as the Pirates never came close to sniffing a run. Through 116.2 total innings, Taillon has pitched to a 3.93 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 86:25 K:BB. The 33-year-old is currently scheduled to make his next start on the road at Cincinnati this weekend.

  • Daylen Lile LF | WAS

Nationals' Daylen Lile: Launches sixth long ball

Lile went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in Monday's 11-3 loss to Atlanta.

The Washington rookie drew the start at designated hitter and opened the game's scoring with a solo shot off starter Spencer Strider in the second. Lile has been scorching hot this month, hitting .423 (22-for-52) with three homers, 14 runs scored and nine RBI while becoming a staple in the Nationals' lineup. Overall, the 22-year-old is now slashing .292/.344/.470 with 45 runs scored, 31 RBI and eight steals across 310 plate appearances.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Plates four in rout

Baldwin went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Monday's 11-3 victory over the Nationals.

The rookie backstop notched his third career performance with four or more RBI, upping his season total to 68. Baldwin topped Atlanta's scoring with a 378-foot, two-run shot off reliever Orlando Ribalta in the ninth. The 24-year-old is now slashing .268/.337/.439 with 16 homers across 395 total plate appearances.
