  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Homers in loss

Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to Atlanta.

Abrams broke a scoreless tie in the sixth frame with his leadoff homer against Atlanta starter Reynaldo Lopez. The shortstop came into the contest having gone 1-for-21 over his previous seven games and recently missed time due to a shoulder issue, so the long ball was a much-needed positive development. Abrams reached 10 homers on the campaign with Thursday's blast, but he's slashing a meager .246/.293/.456 through 247 plate appearances.

  • Adam Duvall CF | ATL

Braves' Adam Duvall: Swats key homer

Duvall went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run against the Nationals in a 5-2 victory Thursday.

Atlanta was being shut out by rookie hurler Mitchell Parker until Duvall tied the score with his two-run blast in the seventh inning. The long ball was his first since he went deep in back-to-back games in late May. Duvall is still under the Mendoza Line with a .195 average on the campaign, but he's taken on a near-everyday role in right field since Ronald Acuna was lost for the season due to a knee injury.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Blasts 18th homer

Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run in a 5-2 win against Washington on Thursday.

Ozuna gave Atlanta some breathing room with his two-run, eighth-inning blast that extended his team's lead from one run to three. It was the slugger's 18th long ball of the campaign, moving him into fourth place in the majors. Ozuna also ranks second with 55 RBI while slashing an excellent .312/.389/.611 through 252 plate appearances.

  • Nationals' Mitchell Parker: Excellent in no-decision

Parker allowed two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out two batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Thursday.

Parker allowed just one hit through six scoreless frames before Atlanta got to him for a pair of runs on a single and a homer in the seventh. The rookie left-hander still managed to close out that frame to tie his longest outing of the season, but he had to settle for a no-decision. Parker has been remarkably consistent as a major-league pitcher thus far, allowing three or fewer runs in all 10 of his starts. He holds a 3.47 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 45:12 K:BB through 57 frames on the season.

  • Padres' Jurickson Profar: Records fourth steal

Profar went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Profar is batting well lately, going 12-for-35 (.343) over his past 10 contests. His steal Thursday was his fourth of the season and his first since May 15. The outfielder is up to a .323/.418/.480 slash line with eight home runs, 38 RBI and 34 runs scored through 263 plate appearances, putting him on pace to shatter his career highs in nearly every category if he can maintain his current levels of production.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Nabs 16th save

Iglesias pitched a perfect inning to earn a save against the Nationals on Thursday.

Iglesias made quick work of Washington in the ninth inning, needing just nine pitches to set the side down in order. The veteran closer has converted each of his past eight save chances, allowing three runs over 10 frames during that span. Iglesias hasn't been punching out batters at his usual rate this season -- he has just 16 strikeouts through 23.1 innings -- but he nonetheless is tied for fifth in the majors with 16 saves (in 18 chances).

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Logs steal in three-hit game

Tatis went 3-for-5 with a double, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Tatis has racked up nine hits over his last three games and is batting .449 (22-for-49) during his 12-game hitting streak. In addition to the hot bat, Tatis took advantage of getting on base Thursday by picking up his first steal since May 7. The outfielder is up to a .283/.356/.450 slash line with seven thefts, 10 home runs, 32 RBI and 41 runs scored through 66 contests this season, and he's been one of baseball's hottest hitters so far in June.

  • Padres' Kyle Higashioka: Launches third homer

Higashioka went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Higashioka got the Padres on the board in the fifth inning with his solo shot. This was his second homer over three games in June after he hit just one long ball over the first two months of the season. The backup catcher is at a .161/.175/.357 slash line with five RBI, four runs scored and two doubles across 57 plate appearances. Higashioka is unlikely to see much playing time as long as Luis Campusano is healthy.

  • Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL

Braves' Reynaldo Lopez: Nabs quality start in no-decision

Lopez allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over six innings in a no-decision against Washington on Thursday.

Lopez held the Nationals scoreless until the sixth inning, when CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas tagged him for back-to-back solo homers. Lopez looked like he could be on the ropes when the following two batters singled, but the right-handed hurler got out of the jam without another run scoring. That allowed him to register his seventh quality start in what has been a career-best campaign. Lopez ranks third among qualified starters with a 1.85 ERA through 63.1 innings on the season.

  • Padres' Randy Vasquez: Provides quality start

Vasquez allowed three runs on six hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Vasquez struggled early, allowing all three runs over the first two innings. Two of the runs came on solo shots by Eugenio Suarez and Gabriel Moreno in the second. This was Vasquez's second quality start of the campaign, but he's been sub-mediocre with a 5.40 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB over 33.1 innings across his seven starts so far. Joe Musgrove (elbow) is likely to be sidelined at least into July, which opens an opportunity for Vasquez or Adam Mazur to claim a spot in the rotation for a longer run. Vasquez should get at least one more chance to audition versus the Athletics at home next week, and his stay in the majors could be longer if Yu Darvish (groin) isn't able to return when first eligible June 14.
