A.J. Smith-Shawver SP | ATL
Braves' AJ Smith-Shawver: Tosses three innings in rehab start
Smith-Shawver (elbow) struck out four and allowed on run on three hits and no walks across three innings Tuesday in a rehab start with Single-A Augusta.
Smith-Shawver kicked off his rehab assignment Tuesday as he enters the home stretch of his recovery from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last June. The right-hander was able to limit the damage to just one run on a solo shot, and he spotted 29 of his 41 total pitches for strikes. Smith-Shawver will likely make his next rehab start at a higher level in Atlanta's farm system.

Tommy Troy LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Tommy Troy: Left out of lineup Tuesday
Troy is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.
Arizona will go with Jorge Barrosa in center field while Troy receives his first day off since June 19. Troy had started in the Diamondbacks' previous eight games, slashing .179/.207/.321 with one home run, four runs and three RBI over that stretch. His last five starts came in center, and he looks set to receive most of the playing time at that position with Ryan Waldschmidt back in the minors and with Jordan Lawlar (hamstring) likely out until at least late July.

Heriberto Hernandez LF | MIA
Marlins' Heriberto Hernandez: Exiting starting nine
Hernandez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
Hernandez mashed his way into an everyday role after producing a .994 OPS through his first 16 games of June, but he's slowed down over his subsequent five games, going 1-for-16 with a 3:3 BB:K. With Liam Hicks (back) returning from the injured list Tuesday, the slumping Hernandez could become the odd man out of the lineup versus right-handed pitching on a more frequent basis.

Jake Cronenworth 2B | SD
Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Sitting Tuesday
Cronenworth is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.
After being activated from the injured list Monday, the left-handed-hitting Cronenworth drew a start against Cubs lefty Shota Imanaga in the series opener and went 0-for-3 on the night. Chicago is sending another southpaw (Matthew Boyd) to the hill for the second game of the series, and the Padres will elect to give Cronenworth a breather this time. Jase Bowen will serve as Cronenworth's replacement in the starting nine and will bat eighth.

Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL
Braves' Ha-Seong Kim: Bound for bench Tuesday
Kim is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.
Kim had started in Atlanta's last four games, but he went 0-for-11 over that stretch to bring his average down to a lowly .068 for the season. Atlanta has an opening in the everyday lineup for Kim while Mauricio Dubon is needed in the outfield to help cover for the absence of Ronald Acuna (hamstring), but Kim's inability to get going at the plate has made it increasingly difficult for manager Walt Weiss to justify keeping him in the starting nine. Jorge Mateo will spell Kim at shortstop Tuesday.

Luis Garcia 1B | NYY
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Back on bench versus lefty
Garcia is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.
After Garcia produced five extra-base hits during the Nationals' weekend series against the Orioles, manager Blake Butera opted to keep the left-handed-hitting first baseman in the lineup against lefty Ranger Suarez in Monday's series opener in Boston. Garcia drew a walk and provided a base hit in his four plate appearances in Monday's 6-3 loss, but it won't be enough to keep him in the lineup for a matchup with another lefty (Connelly Early) on Tuesday. Andres Chaparro will spell Garcia at first base and will bat second.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Wednesday's start pushed to Friday
Ohtani's scheduled start Wednesday versus the Athletics has been pushed to Friday against the Padres.
Instead of Ohtani pitching Wednesday versus the Athletics, it will be a bullpen game, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. The Dodgers now have their superstar slated to pitch against a division rival Friday, and Ohtani is expected to pitch against another one June 10 versus the Diamondbacks. Those two starts will likely be his last two before the All-Star break.

Willi Castro 2B | COL
Rockies' Willi Castro: On bench again Tuesday
Castro is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.
After a run of nine consecutive starts, Castro finds himself on the bench Tuesday for a second straight game. He posted a .602 OPS and 31.7 percent strikeout rate during that nine-game stretch, though he still has a .292/.388/.472 slash line across 23 contests in June.
