Banda (hand) threw a bullpen session Thursday and is scheduled to throw another one over the weekend, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that if Banda is able to get through his next round of mound work without any issues, there is a good chance he will be activated from the injured list when eligible Wednesday. The 31-year-old southpaw has been on the injured list since Sept. 10 due to a hairline fracture in his pitching hand.

Sewald (neck) played catch Friday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session within the next few days, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Sewald has been on the shelf since Sunday due to an issue on the left side of his neck, and Friday marks the first time he's done any sort of throwing since then. It remains unclear if he'll be able to return to the Snakes' bullpen before the end of the regular season, but the team may know more once the 34-year-old is able to begin mound work.

Doyle was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Dodgers due to left knee soreness, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Doyle was originally slated to start in center field Friday, but he was removed from the lineup as he deals with a left knee issue. More should be known on his availability for the rest of the weekend following Friday's contest.

Doyle (undisclosed) was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Dodgers.

It's unclear why Doyle has been removed from Friday's lineup, but he will begin the game in the dugout. Jake Cave will enter the lineup and start in right field, while Jordan Beck and Sam Hilliard man left and center field, respectively.

Lux is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

The lefty-hitting Lux will begin Friday's contest on the bench with southpaw Kyle Freeland taking the mound for the Rockies. Enrique Hernandez will start at second base and bat ninth.

Edman is absent from Friday's lineup against Colorado, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Over his last 12 games, Edman has slashed .327/.377/.755 with six home runs and 14 RBI across 53 plate appearances. He'll cede his spot in center field to Andy Pages on Friday, who will bat sixth.

Nelson (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Nelson has been on the injured list since last Saturday due to shoulder inflammation. The fact he's been cleared to return to a mound after just a week on the IL bodes well for his chances of being activated after a minimum-length stay, but he still has a few more boxes to check before the D-backs can pencil him back into their rotation.

Lopez (shoulder) began playing catch Friday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Friday marks the first time Lopez has done any sort of throwing since landing on the injured list Sept. 11 with right shoulder inflammation. He remains without a timeline for his return, though one may emerge once he's cleared to throw off a mound.

McCarthy is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.

McCarthy is sitting Friday after a run of 14 consecutive starts, during which he posted a .211/.237/.211 slash line with no extra-base hits. Lourdes Gurriel (calf) is back in the lineup after being activated from the injured list while Corbin Carroll shifts to center field.

Kinley was placed on the Rockies' 15-day injured list Friday due to right elbow inflammation.

Kinley's placement on the injured list will end his season, and he'll finish the year with 12 saves and 15 holds while recording a 6.05 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 72:33 K:BB over 64 innings. Kinley took over as the Rockies' top closer after Victor Vodnik landed on the IL in mid-August, but the latter figures to reclaim that role for the rest of the regular season with the former on the shelf. Right-handed reliever Jake Bird was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.
