Hampson will continue in a utility role while Tim Tawa gets the majority of playing time at second base in place of the injured Ketel Marte (hamstring), Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports. "Yeah, I think we'll still put Garrett into that role of, you know, primary backup, occasional starting," Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said.

Hampson filled in for Marte on Friday when he was removed in the first inning of Arizona's 6-4 win over the Nationals. The club placed Marte on the injured list Saturday and called up Tawa for his MLB debut. Hampson entered Saturday's game in the ninth inning as a pinch runner for third baseman Eugenio Suarez.

Tawa, who was called up from Triple-A Reno on Saturday, made his MLB debut later that day in a 4-3 loss to the Nationals. He started at the keystone and went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Though Garrett Hampson came off the bench Friday to fill in for Marte when he got hurt, Lovullo said that he'll likely keep Hampson in a utility role and use him only occasionally at second base while Marte is on the shelf.

Bouchard went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Saturday against the Athletics.

Bouchard made only his second start of the season, both of which have come with left-handed starters on the mound. Given his currently limited playing time, it's difficult to justify rostering him in most fantasy formats.

Lee went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-1 win against the Mariners.

Lee doubled in his second plate appearance, stole third and came home to score the Giants' first run on a Matt Chapman double. He added another double in the sixth inning and again crossed the plate on another Chapman two-bagger. Lee has been productive at the outset of the season, slashing .321/.387/.500 with five doubles (tied for the MLB lead), nine runs, three RBI and three stolen bases over 31 plate appearances.

Walker earned a save against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in one scoreless inning.

Walker was called upon to protect a ninth-inning, three-run lead, and he did so successfully while working around a one-out single. A back injury kept the right-hander out of action for a few days just after Opening Day, but Walker has bounced back nicely by picking up two saves so far in April. Camilo Doval has registered two saves of his own for San Francisco this season, but Walker remains the team's primary closer, with Doval filling the ninth-inning role on days when Walker is unavailable.

Ray (2-0) completed six innings against Seattle on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and five walks while striking out two batters over six innings to earn the win.

Ray struggled with his control as he issued five walks in the outing, but he also helped himself out greatly by picking two runners off second base. The free passes didn't end up hurting him, as the only run he allowed came on a fifth-inning Dylan Moore solo homer. Ray is now 2-0 on the campaign for the 7-1 Giants. His 6:6 K:BB across 11.1 frames doesn't portend continued success, but the strikeouts will likely go up given that he averaged more than a punchout per inning every season between 2016 and 2024 except for 2023, when he made only one appearance before undergoing Tommy John surgery.

McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Saturday in a loss to the Athletics.

McMahon cut Colorado's deficit to three runs with an eighth-inning solo shot to center field, but that was the final run scored by either team. The long ball was the first of the season for the veteran third baseman, who has slugged between 20 and 24 homers each of the past five full seasons (excluding the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign). McMahon's two-hit effort Saturday was his first multi-hit performance since he went 3-for-3 on Opening Day.

Marquez (0-1) took the loss against the Athletics on Saturday, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and six walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Marquez was handed a 3-0 lead through three frames, but he couldn't hang onto it. He threw only 48 of his 89 pitches for strikes and issued six free passes while also uncorking a wild pitch as he struggled with his control throughout the outing. This was a disappointing second start for the veteran hurler after he shined with six shutout innings and no walks against Philadelphia in his season debut March 31.

Frelick went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 11-7 loss to the Reds.

Frelick served as the catalyst for Milwaukee's offense Saturday, picking up his first two extra-base hits of the season. The 24-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a nice start overall this year, going 13-for-33 (.394) with a pair of stolen bases in his first nine games.

Winker went 3-for-4 with a double, two triples and two RBI in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Winker's third extra-base hit and second triple of the game was the crucial knock in Saturday's win -- he launched a two-out, two-strike pitch from left-hander Brendon Little off the right-field fence to drive in a pair of runs, tying the game 2-2. Winker is now 5-for-17 (.294) with four RBI to start the year while holding down the strong side of a platoon at DH.
