Marte went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Marte helped pad the Mets' early lead with a two-run homer in the third to put them up 6-0. It was his second home run of the season, with his other one coming back on March 31. Marte now has four RBI over his last three games and has reached base in four straight. For the year, he's slashing just .184/.305/.347 with 10 RBI, seven runs, two steals and a 4:11 BB:K in 59 plate appearances.

Peterson (2-1) got the win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits while striking out two over five innings. He did not walk a batter.

Peterson got through four scoreless before the Diamondbacks finally pushed across a run with two singles and a double in the fifth. He did not come back out for the sixth despite being at 85 pitches and the Mets holding an 8-1 lead and hasn't reached six innings in any of his last three starts. Peterson's had two outings with nine strikeouts already this season but has combined to punch out only four in his last two starts. On a positive note, he has one walk over his last four outings and hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start thus far. He'll aim to beat the Diamondbacks twice in the span of a week when the Mets travel to face them Monday.

Petty will be called up from Triple-A Louisville to start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals in Cincinnati, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

The Reds and Cardinals were rained out Tuesday and will play a twin bill Wednesday. Petty, one of Cincinnati's top prospects, will make his MLB debut and serve as the club's 27th player on the roster. The 22-year-old right-hander is 0-2 with a 3.52 ERA with 27 strikeouts and nine walks over 23 innings in five starts for Louisville. Petty was dominant in his most recent start April 23, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out seven over six shutout innings. He'll likely be returned to Louisville after making his start Wednesday.

Rodriguez (1-3) took the loss against the Mets on Tuesday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out one in four innings.

Rodriguez was tagged for eight runs over three innings after tossing a scoreless first. The Mets homered off him in each of those three frames, accounting for five of their runs scored. Rodriguez has given up nine-plus hits in two of his last three starts, and he now holds the third-worst ERA among qualifiers at 6.06. The 32-year-old lefty lines up for another tough matchup on the road versus the Phillies this weekend.

Nelson walked two and struck out three over four hitless and scoreless innings in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Mets.

Starter Eduardo Rodriguez was chased after giving up eight runs over four innings. Enter Nelson, who threw his most innings (68 pitches) of the season. He's made seven appearances, six of more than three outs. Nelson was ambushed twice in couple of his outings, leaving him with a 5.82 ERA, but he has a tidy 20:4 K:BB through 17 innings.

Barrosa started in center field and went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Mets.

Barrosa took over in center field for Alek Thomas, who is typically out of the lineup against left-handers and was held out Tuesday against New York's David Peterson. The switch-hitting Barrosa doubled in the Diamondbacks' first run and then produced the team's final run on a groundout. Barrosa will start in center field against lefties and occasionally step in for Lourdes Gurriel.

Smith started at first base and went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Mets.

The lefty-hitting Smith got a rare start against a left-hander, stepping in for Josh Naylor (another lefty), who received his first day off of the season. Smith was 1-for-2 against starter David Peterson, and then walked and singled against right-handed relievers. A .226 career hitter against southpaws, Smith has just seven plate appearances against them this season, going 1-for-5 with two walks.

Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

Schwarber clubbed the first pitch he saw for a two-run shot in the first inning. It snapped an eight-game homerless spell for the veteran slugger, who's seen his average dip in the past few weeks in the process. Over his last 15 games, Schwarber is batting just .196 (10-for-51) with two long balls, one double, eight RBI and seven runs scored.

Smith-Shawver (1-2) left Tuesday's start against the Rockies after being hit in the right arm by a line drive, Owen Perkins of MLB.com reports. He picked up the win after allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out five in 5.1 innings.

Smith-Shawver was in a rhythm before his night ended, pouring in 46 of his 59 pitches for strikes, and he gave up a season-low four hits and one walk. "It got the meaty part of my arm, so we'll see what happens [Wednesday]," Smith-Shawver said following the contest. "But for right now, I'm feeling pretty good." It sounds like there's a chance the right-hander's exit was precautionary, given Atlanta was leading 7-1 at the time of his departure. Smith-Shawver holds a 4.26 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 22:9 K:BB over 19 innings in 2025, and he can be deemed day-to-day for the time being. His next start tentatively lines up for next week at home versus the Reds.

Riley went 2-for-5 with two RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.

With Tuesday's performance, Riley has now registered at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games. During that period, the star third baseman has three multi-RBI efforts and is batting .318 (14-for-44) with one home run, one double and eight RBI. Despite not providing much pop during the stretch, Riley entered Tuesday with an elite 52.6 percent hard-hit rate on the season.
