Holmes (5-1) picked up the win in Friday's 7-2 victory over the Cubs, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out five.

The 32-year-old right-hander continues to put together a breakout campaign in a starting role. Holmes has delivered three quality starts in his last four outings, and he's given up more than three runs only once in eight trips to the mound. He'll take a 2.74 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 44:16 K:BB through 42.2 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Pirates.

Tucker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Mets.

The former Astro got the Cubs on the board in the fourth inning by taking Clay Holmes deep, but Chicago was already staring at a 5-0 deficit at that point. Tucker is on track for a career-best campaign ahead of free agency this winter, slashing .283/.392/.559 through 39 games with 10 homers, 10 steals, 31 runs and 32 RBI.

Taillon (2-2) took the loss Friday, coughing up six runs (five earned) on nine hits -- including four home runs -- and a walk over four innings as the Cubs were downed 7-2 by the Mets. He struck out four.

Francisco Lindor drove the third pitch he saw from Taillon into the right-field bullpen area at Citi Field to lead off the bottom of the first inning, setting the tone for the night. The veteran right-hander came into Friday having served up just six homers in his first seven starts of the season, while the outing snapped a streak of six straight outings in which he'd given up three runs or fewer. The stumble leaves Taillon with a 4.53 ERA despite a 1.17 WHIP and 35:9 K:BB through 43.2 innings, and he'll look to get back on track in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home next week against the Marlins.

Chourio went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Rays.

His error in center field in the third inning helped Tampa Bay get on the board, but Chourio did his best to make up for it from the leadoff spot. The 21-year-old has been on a roll over the last couple weeks, slashing .304/.316/.446 since April 25 with one homer, three steals, four RBI and five runs in 13 contests.

Quintana came away with a no-decision in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Rays, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.

An error by Jackson Chourio in the third inning and an interference call on Caleb Durbin in the sixth during a rundown led to the two unearned runs against Quintana. The veteran southpaw got the hook after 75 pitches (51 strikes) and passed a big personal milestone along the way -- he's one of only six active pitchers with over 2,000 career innings in the majors, joining a group that includes Justin Verlander, Clayton Kershaw and Chris Sale. The Brewers have rotation reinforcements on the way, but Quintana's spot seems secure given his 2.65 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 24:11 K:BB through 34 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week in Cleveland.

Espinal started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 3-0 loss to Houston.

The stolen base was the first of the season for Espinal, who logged 11 thefts in a part-time role for the Reds in 2024. He's been more of a regular in 2025, appearing in 31 of Cincinnati's 40 games to date. Friday's start was his fifth in a row at third base since Noelvi Marte (oblique) became unavailable. It was Espinal's 10th overall start, including outings at shortstop, left field and right field. With Austin Hays activated off the injured list Friday, that frees up Gavin Lux to usurp starts at the third base, but Espinal has been a valuable and productive piece and should maintain a semi-regular role.

Hays served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 in Friday's 3-0 loss to the Astros.

Hays missed the minimum 10 days on the injured list with a hamstring injury and did not require a rehab assignment. As was the case prior to his injury, Hays will bounce between DH and left field.

Reds manager Terry Francona on Friday discussed the idea of placing Fraley (calf) on the 10-day injured list, Jeremy Rakes of MLB.com reports. "We talked to Jake and we were like, 'We appreciate you trying to push this,' but what are the chances he plays tonight and he doesn't feel good tomorrow?" Francona said. "So if we IL him [Saturday], we can push it back three days."

Fraley was expected to return from a two-game absence Friday but was a late scratch. In a move that may presage adding Fraley to the IL, the Reds acquired Connor Joe from the Padres on Friday. Joe can play both first base and the outfield, areas where the Reds are experiencing injuries.

Grichuk entered Friday's game as a pinch hitter and hit a solo home run in a 14-11 loss to the Dodgers.

Grichuk hit the second of back-to-back solo home runs in the eighth inning. His shot increased Arizona's lead to 11-8 lead before the bullpen melted down in the ninth. The homer was the first of the season for Grichuk, who thus far in 2025 has been unable to repeat his impactful 2024 season. His OPS (.678) is nearly 200 points lower than where it finished last season.

Graveman (back) struck out one over a scoreless inning for Triple-A Reno on Friday.

This was Graveman's third rehab appearance overall and second with the Aces. He's allowed three hits and struck out three over 3.1 scoreless frames. Per MLB.com, the Diamondbacks could possibly activate Graveman following Friday's outing.
