Donovan entered this game 0-for-11 over his previous three contests, including an 0-for-4 effort in the matinee contest. That's an unusual cold spell for the utility player -- he had hit safely in the 10 games before that brief slump. Donovan has been a reliable hitter this year, batting .313 with an .824 OPS across 42 contests. He's added three home runs, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored, 12 doubles and three stolen bases while seeing the bulk of his playing time at second base.

Scott went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in a 14-7 win over the Phillies in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Scott didn't do much until late in the doubleheader -- he went 0-for-3 in the first game and didn't get his lone hit until the eighth inning of the nightcap. He also reached on a fielder's choice in the ninth. The speedster is up to 13 steals on 14 attempts this season, good for a share of fifth in the majors. He's added a reliable .278/.342/.383 slash line with two home runs, 18 RBI, 22 runs scored, six doubles and a triple over 40 contests.

Nootbaar went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two total runs scored in a 14-7 win over the Phillies in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Nootbaar went 1-for-3 with a walk in the day game as well, extending his hitting streak to seven games. He has gone 11-for-30 (.367) during the streak, adding two homers, two doubles and six RBI. The outfielder continues to see steady playing time as the near-everyday left fielder and leadoff hitter. He's batting .256 with an .808 OPS, seven homers, 24 RBI, 28 runs scored and four stolen bases over 43 contests. The production isn't all that different from previous seasons, but he could hit some career highs just by staying healthy.

Burleson went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and two additional RBI in a 14-7 win over the Phillies in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Burleson sat for the first game, though he went 0-for-1 off the bench after avoiding left-handed starter Jesus Luzardo. The 26-year-old Burleson then made a big impact in the second game, which saw him deliver a go-ahead homer in the third inning and a two-run single in the fourth. Over 11 contests in May, he's gone 10-for-32 (.313) with three homers and nine RBI. Burleson struggled to tap into his power in April, but he's starting to come around now. He's batting .274 with a .705 OPS, three long balls, 15 RBI, 11 runs scored and three stolen bases over 125 plate appearances overall.

Winn went 5-for-8 with a home run, two walks, three RBI and three runs scored as the Cardinals split Wednesday's doubleheader with the Phillies.

Winn did most of his damage in a 4-for-5 performance in the nightcap, which included a solo home run and a pair of RBI singles. The shortstop has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 10-for-28 (.357) with two homers and seven RBI in that stretch. His big performance Wednesday lifted him to a .281/.371/.465 slash line with five homers, 15 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases over 33 contests this season. Aside from brief absences for back spasms and an ankle sprain, Winn has unsurprisingly been an everyday presence in the Cardinals' lineup this year.

Gray allowed seven runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Phillies in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Gray was bad in his shortest start of the season, but Aaron Nola was even worse, allowing nine runs over 3.2 innings. Both starters gave up three homers, and Gray was lifted after 77 pitches (53 strikes) in this outing. He has posted four quality starts over his last six appearances, but the two exceptions have been ugly. Overall, the 35-year-old has a 4.50 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 51:12 K:BB across 50 innings through nine starts this season. Gray will look to get back on track next week, though he is projected for a tough home matchup versus the Tigers.

Bohm went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in a 14-7 loss to the Cardinals in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Bohm brought the Phillies back within two runs in the fourth inning, but that was as close as they'd get before the Cardinals rallied late. Power has been a problem for Bohm this season -- he doubled his total of extra-base hits in May with a homer and a double in this contest. However, he's been more consistent at the plate lately, going 15-for-42 (.357) over 12 contests this month. Overall, he's batting .258 with a .650 OPS, two homers, 13 RBI, 16 runs scored, six doubles, one triple and a stolen base over 40 games.

Realmuto went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 14-7 loss to the Cardinals in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Realmuto rested for the early game and made an early impact in the nightcap. His homer capped a five-run first inning for the Phillies, though the Cardinals' offense responded in a bigger way over the rest of the contest. Realmuto is playing well in May, going 10-for-35 (.286) with five extra-base hits and seven RBI over 10 games this month. Overall, the catcher is at a .250/.327/.409 slash line with four homers, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored and four stolen bases over 36 contests this season.

Nola (1-7) allowed nine runs on 12 hits and a walk while striking out two over 3.2 innings to take the loss in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Nola's performance has taken a drastic turn for the worse lately, as he's allowed 13 runs, including five home runs, over his last 8.2 innings. He looked to be turning a corner in late April and early May, but that progress has been wiped out, with Wednesday's outing standing as his worst of the campaign so far. He's now at a 6.16 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 52:16 K:BB over 49.2 innings over nine starts. Nola is tentatively projected to make his next start at Colorado.

Castellanos went 3-for-8 with a double, two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored as the Phillies split their doubleheader versus the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Castellanos picked up a steal on his first attempt of the season in the day game, then added a two-run double as part of a scoring explosion in a 14-7 loss in the nightcap. The 33-year-old outfielder has hit fairly well this season, batting .285 with a .752 OPS, four home runs, 23 RBI, 18 runs scored and 11 doubles across 43 contests. It's his highest batting average in four years, but Castellanos' power has taken a dip -- he's currently on pace to miss the 20-homer mark after reaching it in six of the last seven full-length campaigns.
