Atlanta transferred Smith-Shawver (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Friday.

The right-hander landed on the 15-day IL after suffering an elbow strain during the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Phillies, and his quick move to the 60-day IL is an indication it isn't a minor issue. The severity of the strain isn't yet known, but Smith-Shawver will be sidelined for at least the next two months.

Wood went 1-for-3 with two walks, a double, a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Seattle did its best to pitch around the young phenom, but Wood still supplied plenty of production when he got a chance. Over his last 15 games, the 22-year-old is slashing .327/.415/.691 with five of his 15 homers and four of his nine steals on the season, while also piling up 14 runs and 19 RBI. Wood does carry a 29.2 percent strikeout rate during that span, but he can afford to whiff now and then given the way he crushes the ball when he makes contact -- he sits in the 99th percentile in MLB in hard-hit rate, the 96th percentile in both barrel rate and average exit velocity, and the 95th percentile in bat speed.

The Reds recalled Richardson from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

The right-hander was sent to Louisville on May 22 but he'll come back up to take the spot of Luis Mey, who was optioned to Triple-A on Thursday. Richardson has made 10 appearances in the majors this season and has a 1.32 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB across 13.2 innings.

Bell went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Mariners.

The long ball wasn't exactly clutch, as it closed the books on a seven-run 10th inning for the Nationals that blew open a 2-2 tie, but it's another encouraging sign that Bell is coming out of his early season swoon. The 32-year-old has gone yard in back-to-back games, racking up five hits over those contests, and over his last 14 games he sports a .277/.370/.489 slash line with three of his eight homers on the year.

Hernandez will be promoted from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Jeremiah Geiger of Locked on Marlins reports.

Hernandez was once a notable prospect in the Rays system, but he has become a bat-first right-handed hitter who made it to minor-league free agency in 2024. The 25-year-old left fielder/designated hitter has slashed .220/.319/.454 with nine home runs, six steals and a 35 percent strikeout rate in 41 games at Triple-A this season.

Fraley (calf) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

The 30-year-old has been sidelined the past three weeks due to a calf injury but is ready to rejoin the Reds after a four-game rehab stint with Triple-A Louisville. Fraley has yet to get on track this season with a .205/.319/.359 slash line in 28 big-league games, but he could reclaim a strong-side platoon role in the outfield now that he's healthy.

Veen, who is recovering from a sore ankle, was assigned to the Arizona Complex League on Friday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Veen might need a game or two in the ACL before returning to action for Triple-A Albuquerque. The 23-year-old outfielder is slashing .271/.336/.439 with two home runs, two steals and a 20 percent strikeout rate in 27 games at Triple-A.

The Reds placed Hays on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 29, due to a left foot contusion.

The veteran outfielder fouled a pitch off his left foot Wednesday and is headed to the injured list for the third time this season. This latest issue doesn't appear to be a serious concern, so it's possible Hays will be ready to be activated when first eligible June 8. Jake Fraley (calf) was reinstated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Ozuna went 2-for-7 with three walks and two runs scored across both games of Thursday's doubleheader split with the Phillies.

The veteran DH reached base multiple times in each contest, extending his on-base streak to 11 games in the process. During that stretch, Ozuna's slashing .333/.480/.564 with three homers, six RBI and eight runs, and his current .428 OBP on the season would shatter his previous career high over a full campaign of .378, a mark he set last year. Ozuna did post a .431 OBP over 60 games in the abbreviated pandemic season of 2020.

Castellanos went 5-for-8 with a double and a run scored in Thursday's doubleheader split with Atlanta.

After going 4-for-4 in the opening game, Castellanos scored the Phillies' second run in the nightcap after smacking a one-out double in the eighth inning. The 33-year-old hasn't been hitting for much power -- he has just four home runs this year, and only one in his last 40 games. However, he's gone 8-for-18 (.444) in his previous five contests. Overall, Castellanos is slashing .288/.329/.409 with 29 RBI, 25 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases through 234 plate appearances this year.
