Sullivan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Sullivan will hit the bench for a second straight game, as he's faded back to the second spot on the Rockies' catching depth chart with All-Star Hunter Goodman returning from the injured list Tuesday. While Goodman was out of the lineup for a stretch of 10 consecutive games from Aug. 14 through Monday, Sullivan made eight starts and went 5-for-29 (.172 average) with one home run, five RBI and four runs.

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Ramirez has occupied a top-four spot in the lineup in each of the last three games while the Marlins faced left-handed starting pitchers, going 1-for-8 with two walks and two runs. He'll be back on the bench Wednesday with the Red Sox sending righty Sonny Gray to the hill and could mostly be limited to a short-side platoon role while the Marlins have all of their key hitters available.

Ruiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Ruiz had started the previous four games, going 0-for-8 with a 1:6 BB:K while reaching base on two hit-by-pitches. Three of those starts came against left-handed pitching, and Ruiz looks as though he could mainly be limited to a short-side platoon role in the wake of Kyle Stowers' return from the injured list Monday.

Bauers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets after being diagnosed with shin splints Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Bauers was believed to be dealing with a swollen foot after he fouled a ball off himself in Sunday's loss to Atlanta, but lingering shin splints are the actual cause of his absence from the lineup for the first two games of the Brewers' series with the Mets. According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Bauers said that the shin splints first surfaced in May and flared up again over the past week. Bauers isn't considered at risk of landing on the injured list, but he'll have to manage the issue for the remainder of the season, and the Brewers will pick their spots in giving him rest. He came off the bench in Tuesday's 3-2 extra-inning loss and went 0-for-1 with a walk while playing the final two frames at first base, so despite not starting, Bauers should be available again Wednesday.

Baez is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Orioles.

Baez has gone just 1-for-21 with nine strikeouts against righties early on in his big-league career, so he'll get a breather as the Orioles send right-hander Kyle Bradish to the bump. Bryan Torres will occupy left field for St. Louis.

The Padres recalled Morgan from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.

Morgan has collected a disappointing 4.50 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 26:13 K:BB in 22 innings out of the Padres' bullpen this season. The right-hander will likely fill a middle-relief role in San Diego.

The Padres placed Estrada on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to a right shoulder impingement.

Estrada will head to the IL for the third time this season after previously missing action due to elbow and knee issues. When healthy, he's logged a 3.48 ERA and 38:16 K:BB over 31 frames this season. It's unclear how long Estrada's absence will last.

Tovar (wrist) will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Wednesday's contest versus the Nationals.

Tovar tweaked his left wrist during Monday's game and then didn't start Tuesday, but it will be just a one-game absence from the lineup for the shortstop. The 25-year-old has shown signs of life offensively in August, slashing .300/.351/.480 with a pair of long balls.

Norby will start at second base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game versus the Nationals.

It's the third straight start at second base and fourth consecutive start overall for Norby, who is slashing .289/.386/.500 with one home run in his first 13 games with the Rockies. Willi Castro has been playing third base in place of the injured Kyle Karros (concussion), and Norby could continue to fill in at second base while Karros is out.

Veen is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

The left-handed-hitting Veen will hit the bench against a right-handed starter (Matt Waldron) for the first time since being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Aug. 11. Veen homered in his first two games this season, but over his last eight contests, he's gone 3-for-18 with a 0:10 BB:K. Jake McCarthy, Cole Carrigg and Mickey Moniak will play the outfield, and Troy Johnston will serve as the designated hitter for the Rockies on Wednesday.
