  • Esteury Ruiz RF | MIA

Dodgers' Esteury Ruiz: Set to be called up

The Dodgers are expected to recall Ruiz from Triple-A Oklahoma City, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Max Muncy is set to undergo an MRI on his left knee Thursday, and Ruiz's arrival suggests the former is headed to the 10-day injured list. Ruiz was acquired via trade just after Opening Day and has slashed .292/.394/.458 with eight home runs and 38 stolen bases over 66 games with Oklahoma City. The 26-year-old can be an impact fantasy player with his speed if he gets regular playing time, but regular at-bats with the Dodgers seem unlikely.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Rehab games coming soon

Rockies interim manager Warren Schaeffer said Thursday that the team is close to scheduling Tovar's (oblique) rehab assignment, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Tovar ran the bases Thursday and has previously hit off a tee as he ramps up baseball activities. He has not yet resumed taking batting practice and will need to show he can hit pain-free before being cleared for a rehab assignment, but it sound like that should come soon. Tovar has been sidelined since early June with a strained left oblique.

  • Zach Agnos RP | COL

Rockies' Zach Agnos: Back up with big club

The Rockies recalled Agnos from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Agnos served as the Rockies' closer for a stretch earlier this season but was sent down after being scored upon in four straight outings. He appeared to get back on track at Albuquerque, permitting one run with a 4:1 K:BB in four frames. Agnos could re-enter the late-inning mix for the Rockies but is unlikely to be a frontrunner for saves right away.

  • Angel Chivilli RP | NYY

Rockies' Angel Chivilli: Dispatched to minors

The Rockies optioned Chivilli to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Chivilli yielded two runs while recording just two outs in Wednesday's loss to the Astros in what was his second appearance in as many days. Zach Agnos was called up from Triple-A to replace Chivilli on the 26-man active roster and will give the Rockies a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Andy Pages CF | LAD

Dodgers' Andy Pages: Belts 17th long ball

Pages went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 win against the White Sox.

Pages recorded an extra-base hit for the third straight game with a 415-foot solo shot to center field in the second inning. The 24-year-old has reached base safely in 14 of his past 17 contests and is slashing .333/.352/.636 with five home runs, 17 RBI and 13 runs scored during that span. Pages has made a legitimate case for an All-Star nod in his second MLB season -- among NL outfielders, he's tied for fifth with 17 homers and ranks third with 58 RBI while posting an .839 OPS over 83 games.

  • Kris Bryant RF | COL

Rockies' Kris Bryant: Feeling soreness after running

Bryant (back) acknowledged June 11 that he still experiences discomfort while running during his rehab program, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. "I'm just being completely honest. When I do run, I am sore -- not just sore, but hurting. We've determined to keep trying and see if it continues, if it improves. That's where I'm at," Bryant said. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking that some days I see light at the end of the tunnel, some days I don't."

Colorado placed Bryant on the injured list April 14 due to lumbar degenerative disc disease before he underwent an ablation procedure May 8 to combat the injury. He was able to play catch June 10 and then began taking dry swings in addition to light running June 11, but the latter activity proved to be the most difficult for him. In the three weeks since then, the Rockies haven't provided an official update on Bryant's status, but he's presumably a long ways off from heading out on a rehab assignment, much less returning from the 60-day IL. His absence appears likely to extend well past the All-Star break.

  • Austin Warren RP | NYM

Mets' Austin Warren: Sent back to Triple-A

The Mets optioned Warren to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Warren will return to Triple-A after he was up with the Mets for just one day as the 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader with the Brewers. The right-handed reliever ended up going unused in both games of the twin bill.

  • Craig Yoho RP | MIL

Brewers' Craig Yoho: Sent back to Nashville

The Brewers optioned Yoho to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.

Yoho will return to Nashville after he was called up Wednesday to serve as the Brewers' 27th man for their doubleheader with the Mets. The right-handed reliever was used in the Brewers' 7-3 loss in the second game of the day, working 1.1 innings while striking out one and allowing one earned run on one hit and one walk.

  • Yosver Zulueta RP | BAL

Reds' Yosver Zulueta: Returned to Triple-A

The Reds optioned Zulueta to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

After the second game of the Reds' series in Boston was suspended Tuesday due to rain, both teams were allotted a 27th man Wednesday for the resumption of the suspended game in addition to the contest scheduled for that day. Zulueta was summoned from Louisville to serve as the Reds' 27th man but went unused in both contests.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Undergoing MRI on knee Thursday

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Wednesday's game versus the White Sox that Muncy will undergo an MRI on his left knee Thursday, DodgersBeat.com reports.

Muncy was injured when Michael Taylor's head collided with the third baseman's knee on a stolen-base attempt in the sixth inning. Roberts said after Muncy was evaluated by trainers that the team is "optimistic" the 34-year-old is dealing with a sprain rather than a tear, but the MRI will provide more clarity. At the very least, Roberts expects Muncy to be sidelined "for the next few days." Enrique Hernandez and Miguel Rojas will handle third base while Muncy is shelved.
