Sandy Leon C | ATL
Braves' Sandy Leon: Added to roster
Atlanta selected Leon's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.
With both Sean Murphy and Drake Baldwin playing regularly between the catcher and designated-hitter spots, the club has elected to add Leon to the roster as a third backstop. A 12-year major-league veteran, Leon last appeared in the big leagues in 2023.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Battles shoulder issue Sunday
Marquez was lifted after three innings in his start in Sunday's 7-1 loss to the Twins due to right shoulder inflammation, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. "I'm feeling a little bit of inflammation in the front of my shoulder," Marquez said after the game. "It started bugging me when I pitched in Cincinnati [on July 11] and I didn't recover well. I couldn't get hot. And my [velocity] was down, too."
Marquez dropped to 3-11 on the season Sunday, allowing three earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two in the 58-pitch outing. Though Marquez noted that he doesn't have a history of shoulder inflammation and hadn't yet had met with the Rockies' team trainer for further evaluation, the right-hander's availability for his next turn through the rotation next weekend in Baltimore is now up in the air. If Marquez requires a stint on the injured list, Triple-A Albuquerque starters Ryan Feltner, Chase Dollander, Tanner Gordon and Carson Palmquist would appear to be the main candidates to replace him in the rotation.

Heliot Ramos LF | SF
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Logs two hits in loss
Ramos went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Blue Jays.
Ramos drove in the Giants' first run with an RBI single to left field in the first inning. The 25-year-old outfielder added a double in the seventh, marking his second multi-hit performance over his last three games. Across 62 plate appearances this month, Ramos is slashing .224/.258/.310 with five RBI, two runs scored, two doubles, one home run and a 24.2 percent strikeout rate in 15 outings.

Jung Hoo Lee RF | SF
Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Multi-hit effort in defeat
Lee went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Blue Jays.
Lee knocked a leadoff double to left field before coming around to score San Francisco's first run. He later added an RBI single in the sixth inning, though he was thrown out at second on the play. The 26-year-old outfielder has been productive in July, slashing .306/.340/.440 with seven RBI, four runs scored, three doubles and two triples over 53 plate appearances this month.

Ronald Acuna Jr. RF | ATL
Braves' Ronald Acuna: Belts 13th homer
Acuna went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.
The superstar right fielder crushed a Devin Williams changeup 456 feet to center field to lead off the ninth inning, but the rest of Atlanta's bats couldn't add anything to the rally. It's Acuna's 13th homer of the year and fourth in his last eight games, a stretch in which he's batting .303 (10-for-33) with eight total extra-base hits, six RBI and nine runs.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Braves' Matt Olson: Socks 18th homer
Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.
The first baseman took Marcus Stroman deep in the sixth inning to get Atlanta on the board. It was Olson's first long ball since July 5 and his 18th of the season, but he's had a productive month overall, slashing .267/.353/.467 in 15 July games with three homers, eight runs and 12 RBI.

Dane Dunning SP | SEA
Braves' Dane Dunning: Effective Atlanta debut
Dunning gave up one run on two hits and a walk over three innings of relief in Sunday's loss to the Yankees. He struck out two.
The veteran righty was acquired from the Rangers to provide a beleaguered Atlanta bullpen with some length, and Dunning did exactly that in his debut for the team. With only two healthy, reliable starters in the rotation in Spencer Strider and Grant Holmes, who took the loss in a quality start Sunday, Dunning figures to see plenty of action over the final months of the season. Through 13.2 big-league innings this season over six relief appearances between Texas and Atlanta, the 30-year-old has a 3.29 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Giants' Matt Chapman: Homers Sunday
Chapman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Blue Jays.
Chapman cut the Giants' deficit to 7-4 in the sixth inning with a two-out, opposite-field blast off Jose Berrios, his 13th homer this season. Chapman would also deliver just his second multi-hit effort in 11 games since returning from the IL -- he'd gone just 2-for-27 (.074) in seven contests prior to Sunday. Overall, the 32-year-old Chapman is slashing .234/.343/.425 with 33 RBI, 44 runs scored and seven steals across 318 plate appearances.

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Says he's over hip issue
Ozuna said after Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Yankees that he's no longer bothered by the sore hip that was affecting his performance earlier in the season, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. "It was my hip earlier this season, but now I feel fantastic," Ozuna said. "I just lost my confidence at the plate. I just lost my timing, and that's what I've been battling. As soon as I get my timing back, everything's coming like last year and the year before."
The veteran slugger has lost his regular spot in the starting lineup while Atlanta has been using either Sean Murphy or Drake Baldwin at designated hitter on their non-catching days, and Ozuna's .139/.262/.333 slash line through 42 plate appearances in July, including an 0-for-4 effort Sunday, doesn't make much of a case for him to regain his job. He also acknowledged the trade rumors surrounding him as the team's playoff odds continue to shrink, but Ozuna didn't give any hint as to whether he would use his 10-and-5 rights to veto a potential deal. Until he shows signs of life at the plate, Ozuna's fantasy value and value as a trade asset will both be low.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: CT scan on tap this week
Moreno will undergo a CT scan this week to check the healing of the hairline fracture in his right index finger, MLB.com reports.
If the scan shows that Moreno has made sufficient progress, he could be allowed to begin some baseball activities. Moreno was moved to the 60-day injured list over the weekend, making him ineligible to return to the Diamondbacks' 26-man active roster until mid-August.
