  • Easton McGee RP | MIL

Brewers' Easton McGee: Back up with big club

The Brewers recalled McGee from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

He'll provide a fresh relief arm after the bullpen was needed for five innings in Monday's win over the Cubs. McGee has allowed two runs with a 7:3 K:BB over seven innings during his time in the majors this season.

  • Craig Yoho RP | MIL

Brewers' Craig Yoho: Sent back to minors

The Brewers optioned Yoho to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

Yoho was in the majors for just one day and walked two over two-thirds of a scoreless inning in his lone appearance. Easton McGee is taking Yoho's spot on the roster and in the bullpen.

  • Rece Hinds RF | MIA

Reds' Rece Hinds: Recalled from Triple-A

The Reds recalled Hinds from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Hinds will provide some outfield depth while TJ Friedl is on the paternity list. He is likely to be sent back down once Friedl returns later this week.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Absent from lineup

Stephenson is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Stephenson started at catcher in Monday's series opener but will take a seat in the second contest of the three-game set. Jose Trevino will be behind the dish and bat ninth for the Reds.

  • TJ Friedl CF | CIN

Reds' TJ Friedl: Goes on paternity list

The Reds placed Friedl on the paternity list Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

By rule, Friedl will be away for the next 1-to-3 days while welcoming a new addition to the family. The Reds will roll out Will Benson in center field Tuesday against the Dodgers and have elevated Gavin Lux to the leadoff spot.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: On bench Tuesday

Suarez (finger) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

The third baseman had X-rays on his right index finger come back negative after being hit by a pitch during Monday's contest, but it's not a surprise he's sitting Tuesday since manager Torey Lovullo said additional testing was scheduled. Suarez is arguably the top player available ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, so there's league-wide interest in his injury diagnosis. Blaze Alexander is manning the hot corner Tuesday for Arizona.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Taking seat Tuesday

Estrada is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Cleveland.

Estrada started each of the past four games upon his return from the 10-day injured list, but he will get a breather Tuesday. Kyle Farmer is at second base and batting seventh for the Rockies.

  • Troy Johnston RF | COL

Marlins' Troy Johnston: Expected to be added to roster

The Marlins are expected to call up Johnston from Triple-A Jacksonville prior to Tuesday's game in St. Louis, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Johnston would take the 26-man and 40-man roster spots vacated by Nick Fortes, who has been traded to the Rays. The 28-year-old Johnston has slashed .252/.333/.439 with 12 homers and 31 steals at Jacksonville this season and is capable of playing first base in addition to both corner-outfield spots. Johnston will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Struggles in return to mound

Treinen allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out two batters over two-thirds of an inning against the Reds on Monday.

Treinen was reinstated Sunday from a lengthy stay on the injured list due to a forearm injury and saw his first MLB game action in over three months Monday. Though he didn't enter in a save situation, the right-hander did get the ball in the ninth inning with Los Angeles holding a 5-1 lead. Treinen looked rusty in the outing, throwing just 15 of 25 pitches for strikes and walking a pair. After issuing a free pass to TJ Friedl to load the bases with two outs, manager Dave Roberts elected to turn to Jack Dreyer, who was able to nab a save by getting Matt McLain to ground out. With Tanner Scott (elbow) currently on the IL and without a definite timeline for a return, the Dodgers' closer situation is nebulous, and Treinen could certainly factor into the mix, though Roberts may first want to allow him to shake off any cobwebs lingering from the extended absence. The Dodgers are also rumored to be seeking bullpen help as the trade deadline approaches.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Goes yard again Monday

Mauricio went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Padres.

The switch-hitting infielder took Padres closer Robert Suarez deep in the top of the ninth inning to tie the game at 6-6, only for San Diego to walk it off in the bottom of the frame. Mauricio has homered in back-to-back contests, and over 16 games in July he's slashing .292/.358/.563 with four doubles, three home runs, one steal four RBI and 10 runs as he stakes a claim to a strong-side platoon role at third base.
