Wagaman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Wagaman is on the bench against a right-handed starter (Miles Mikolas) for the second day in a row and for the third time in the last four games. Dating back to the start of July, Wagaman has contributed a lowly .431 OPS in 20 games, and his poor stretch of production appears to have cost him his role as the Marlins' everyday first baseman. The right-handed-hitting Wagaman could have to settle for the short side of a platoon at first base with the lefty-hitting Troy Johnston, who will get a second straight start following his promotion from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Peralta (12-5) took the loss against the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts over four innings.

Peralta tied a season high with four walks and was undone by a four-run third inning in his shortest start of the season. The 29-year-old has now yielded 10 earned runs over 14 innings in his past three outings after opening July with three straight quality starts. He owns a 3.08 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 134:46 K:BB across 125.2 innings and will aim to rebound in a road matchup with Atlanta early next week.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Snell (shoulder) will be reinstated from the 60-day injured list to start Saturday against the Rays, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Snell has been on the shelf since early April due to left shoulder inflammation. He steadily progressed through his throwing program and was effective during his four-start rehab assignment. In his most recent outing this past Saturday for Triple-A Oklahoma City, he threw 76 pitches across 4.2 scoreless innings. Though Snell has finally been given the green light to make his first start for the big club since April 2, he's still likely to have some minor workload limitations in place Saturday.

Kepler was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox due to triceps soreness, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

The veteran outfielder was in the starting nine for Wednesday's series finale but ended up being scratched after a lengthy rain delay. The severity of the injury hasn't been disclosed, so Kepler should be considered day-to-day heading into Friday's series opener in Detroit.

Imanaga (8-4) earned the win against the Brewers on Wednesday, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over five innings.

Imanaga was tagged for two homers by William Contreras but was otherwise sharp, throwing 65 of 89 pitches for strikes with 13 whiffs. It was a solid bounce-back after he gave up seven runs to the White Sox on Friday, though Imanaga will finish July having allowed nine homers over six starts. The southpaw carries a 3.25 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 63:17 K:BB across 83 innings into a home matchup with the Reds early next week.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Sheehan "might be" available to work in relief behind right-hander Shohei Ohtani in Wednesday's game against the Reds, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

For the first time since Ohtani made his 2025 debut as a pitcher June 16, the Dodgers aren't committed to having another hurler piggyback him, but the two-way player will still be limited to four innings in his seventh start of the season while he continues to gradually increase his workload following his second career elbow surgery in September 2023. Sheehan had started in his previous two appearances with the Dodgers, but with Blake Snell (shoulder) likely to return from the 60-day injured list this weekend to give the team six healthy starters, Sheehan looks set to move to the bullpen for the time being. The right-hander will be available on four days' rest and should be capable of covering multiple innings behind Ohtani, if needed.

Tucker went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, a run scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Brewers.

Tucker is still stuck on just one home run this month, but he looked dynamic in Wednesday's series finale. The outfielder posted only his second multi-hit performance in July and his first multi-RBI game since July 6. Tucker is too talented to not get going at some point, and Wednesday's effort could be the jump-start he needs for an extended hot streak.

Contreras went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 10-3 loss to the Cubs.

Contreras snapped a power drought with his first home run since June 14 in the first inning, then added another in the fourth. It marked the fifth multi-homer game of the catcher's career and put an exclamation point on a strong three-game set against the Cubs that featured three extra-base hits, three RBI and six runs scored. On the season, he's slashing .250/.348/.363 with eight long balls, 45 RBI, 56 runs scored and five steals across 443 plate appearances.

The Mariners traded Martinez to the Pirates on Wednesday in exchange for Caleb Ferguson, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Martinez has struggled this season upon being promoted to Single-A, logging a 6.18 ERA and 1.62 WHIP alongside a 60:38 K:BB through 62.2 innings. That being said, the 19-year-old righty is trending in the right direction after giving up just six earned runs in 23.1 frames over his last five starts, but he clearly still has a lot of work to do before earning a promotion to High-A, let alone the majors.

Crow-Armstrong went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Brewers.

Crow-Armstrong's MVP-caliber campaign keeps rolling along, as he's now sporting an .868 OPS with 61 extra-base hits across 106 games. That total includes 27 home runs, and the young outfielder also has 29 stolen bases, making a 40-40 season within reach. This was his 11th game this season of three-plus hits.
