  • Alan Rangel RP | PHI

Phillies' Alan Rangel: Demoted to minors

The Phillies optioned Rangel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

Rangel will give up his spot in the bullpen to veteran right-hander David Robertson, whom the Phillies called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. Over his five appearances this season, Rangel had notched a save and allowed three earned runs on 10 hits and six walks over 11 innings.

  • Phillies' David Robertson: Joining big club

The Phillies recalled Robertson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

Robertson agreed to a one-year deal with Philadelphia on July 20 and agreed to report to Triple-A as part of his ramp-up process. Over five outings with Lehigh Valley, the veteran righty allowed six earned runs on 11 hits over 5.1 frames, but he struck out three over 1.2 scoreless innings in his last two appearances. Trade-deadline acquisition Jhoan Duran is locked in as the team's new closer, but Robertson could find a spot as part of the bridge to the ninth inning.

  • Hunter Greene SP | CIN

Reds' Hunter Greene: Should return from IL on Wednesday

Greene (groin) will work out in Cincinnati on Sunday and is expected to return from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Pat Brennan of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Greene completed his fourth rehab outing (third with Triple-A Louisville) on Friday, striking out seven over 5.1 innings while ceding five earned runs on two hits and three walks. Though he allowed a pair of home runs, Greene got stretched out to 79 pitches and seems to have checked out fine physically following the start. His return will force the Reds to rejigger their rotation. Nick Martinez may be at risk of moving to the bullpen, despite tossing seven innings of one-run ball in Saturday's win over the Pirates.

  • Matt McLain 2B | CIN

Reds' Matt McLain: Receiving day off

McLain is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

He's gone 4-for-11 with a walk while starting the first three games of the series in Pittsburgh, but McLain will receive a breather on getaway day. Gavin Lux will step in at second base and bat second.

  • Jake Fraley RF | TB

Reds' Jake Fraley: Losing work to Marte

Fraley is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

The Reds have faced exclusively right-handed starting pitchers in their four-game series in Pittsburgh, but the left-handed-hitting Fraley has still found himself on the bench for three of those contests. Fraley appears to have moved into a part-time role while Noelvi Marte has become the primary option in right field after trade-deadline pickup Ke'Bryan Hayes displaced him at third base.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Receiving Sunday off

Stephenson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Stephenson will exit the lineup for the second time in the four-game series, paving the way for Jose Trevino to receive another turn behind the dish. Though he's striking out at a 33 percent clip dating back to the beginning of July, Stephenson has managed to maintain a .260 batting average during that time while providing three home runs, 11 RBI and 11 runs in 24 games.

  • Jose Trevino C | CIN

Reds' Jose Trevino: Filling in for resting Stephenson

Trevino will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Pirates.

With top backstop Tyler Stephenson receiving the afternoon off, Trevino will pick up his second start behind the plate in the four-game series. Since the All-Star break, Trevino has gone 3-for-27 (.111 average) with one RBI and one run in eight games.

  • Heliot Ramos LF | SF

Giants' Heliot Ramos: Tallies two hits in loss

Ramos went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Washington.

Ramos singled in the third inning and added another base hit in the eighth before coming around to score. The 25-year-old outfielder has delivered four multi-hit performances in his last six games, slashing .400/.483/.400 with five runs scored, an RBI and a 4:3 BB:K across 29 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .274/.349/.417 with 62 runs scored, 51 RBI, 14 home runs and six stolen bases across 507 plate appearances in 115 games.

  • Giants' Carson Seymour: Works long relief Saturday

Seymour allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out one over three innings in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Nationals.

Seymour worked in long relief once again, giving up two singles and two doubles while throwing 28 of his 44 pitches for strikes. The 26-year-old has surrendered five runs in his last eight innings and overall owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 12:4 K:BB across 14 innings in six appearances.

  • Taylor Rogers RP | MIN

Cubs' Taylor Rogers: Pitching well with new team

In four appearances since joining the Cubs at the trade deadline, Rogers has logged 3.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts.

Rogers extended his scoreless streak Saturday against the Cardinals despite allowing a hit and a walk in his inning of relief. The lefty hasn't allowed an earned run over his last 16 appearances dating back to June 19, when he was pitching for the Reds. Rogers has a stellar 2.23 ERA and 9.7 K/9 across 36.1 innings this season, and he's slotted in as the top southpaw in Chicago's bullpen, working as a key setup option ahead of closer Daniel Palencia.
