  • Otto Kemp LF | PHI

Phillies' Otto Kemp: Losing playing time at 3B

Kemp is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

With Edmundo Sosa emerging as the Phillies' preferred option at third base in the absence of Alec Bohm (rib), Kemp will be on the bench for the second day in a row. Kemp has posted a respectable .740 OPS since the All-Star break but has struck out at a 30.9 percent clip.

  • Max Kepler RF | PHI

Phillies' Max Kepler: Idle against lefty

Kepler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

With southpaw Patrick Corbin starting for the Rangers, Kepler will take a seat for the series finale. Weston Wilson will replace Kepler in left field and bat ninth.

  • Brandon Marsh LF | PHI

Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Getting day off versus lefty

Marsh is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Marsh will take a seat while Texas sends southpaw Patrick Corbin to the hill. Harrison Bader will replace Marsh in center field and bat sixth.

  • Sal Frelick RF | MIL

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Taking seat Sunday

Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

After starting the last three games, Frelick will join Christian Yelich and Brice Turang on the bench as Milwaukee leans heavily on right-handed bats to counter Mets southpaw Sean Manaea. Brandon Lockridge will spell Frelick in right field and bat eighth.

  • Brewers' Christian Yelich: Receiving afternoon off

Yelich is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Yelich will join Sal Frelick and Brice Turang on the bench as the Brewers roll out a right-handed-heavy lineup to counter Mets southpaw Sean Manaea. William Contreras will get a day off from catching duties and serve as the designated hitter.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting against southpaw

Turang is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Though Turang isn't a strict platoon player, he'll take a seat against Mets lefty Sean Manaea as the Brewers go for their ninth straight win Sunday. Andruw Monasterio will step in at second base.

  • Brewers' Anthony Seigler: Idle against lefty

Seigler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

The switch-hitting Seigler has been seeing more starts against right-handed pitching lately at Caleb Durbin's expense, but Durbin remains the Brewers' clear top option at third base when Milwaukee faces a lefty, such as Mets starter Sean Manaea. Seigler has done little at the plate to earn extra playing time however, batting just .192 (5-for-26) since the All-Star break with zero extra-base hits.

  • Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Resting for series finale

Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

After catching eight innings and going 1-for-3 with a walk Saturday, Alvarez will get a breather for the Sunday afternoon contest. Luis Torrens will work behind the plate.

  • Mark Vientos 1B | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: Heading to bench amid poor stretch

Vientos is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Vientos will head to the bench for the second time in the series while the Mets go with Jeff McNeil at designated hitter, Brett Baty at second base and Ronny Mauricio at third base. Since swatting a grand slam July 28, Vientos has fallen into a skid at the plate, posting a .526 OPS over his last eight contests.

  • Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Getting rest Sunday

McCutchen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

With the Pirates playing out the string on a non-contending season, McCutchen has been subject to more veteran days off recently. He'll exit the lineup Sunday for the fourth time in the Pirates' last eight games, paving the way for Jack Suwinski to crack the starting nine in right field.
