Bryce Elder SP | ATL
Braves' Bryce Elder: Pummeled by White Sox on Tuesday
Elder didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out three.
While Elder did toss three clean innings during Tuesday's outing, the White Sox tagged the hurler for three runs in the third frame and five runs in the fifth. It was the third time this season that the right-hander yielded at least eight runs, and each of those instances have come in his last nine starts. Elder has a 7.45 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 57:30 K:BB over 67.2 innings since the beginning of June, so he doesn't project as the most enticing streaming option for next week's scheduled appearance in Miami.

Jung Hoo Lee RF | SF
Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Provides early spark in loss
Lee went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Padres.
Lee took Nick Pivetta's second pitch of the game out to right-center field, but that wound up being the Giants' lone run. Lee accounted for half of San Francisco's hits in the contest. He's been one of few bright spots for the Giants in August, batting .344 (22-for-64) with nine extra-base hits over 17 games this month. The outfielder is up to a .262/.325/.417 slash line with seven homers, 10 stolen bases, 47 RBI, 61 runs scored, 29 doubles and 10 triples across 120 contests. He's also been in the leadoff spot against the last two right-handers the Giants have faced, which appears to be something that will stick for a while.

Kai-Wei Teng RP | HOU
Giants' Kai-Wei Teng: Takes another loss against Padres
Teng (1-3) allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.1 innings to take the loss versus the Padres on Tuesday.
Teng's last two outings have been against San Diego, and he's allowed a total of 10 runs (eight earned) over five innings against the Giants' division rivals. Teng has maintained the last spot in San Francisco's rotation this month, staying in the majors over Carson Whisenhunt when Landen Roupp returned from an elbow injury. That said, Teng's 8.78 ERA and 12:9 K:BB through 13.1 innings over four appearances haven't inspired much confidence in his major-league readiness. If he gets another start, it's projected to be another challenging matchup this weekend in Milwaukee.

Fernando Tatis Jr. RF | SD
Padres' Fernando Tatis: Registers 25th steal
Tatis went 1-for-3 with two walks, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Giants.
Tatis logged his third steal of the month and his 25th theft of the year. This is the third time in his six big-league seasons that he's recorded that many steals, and he has a good chance of reaching 30 for the first time this year. The outfielder is slashing .264/.370/.431 with 17 home runs, 51 RBI, 85 runs scored, 23 doubles and two triples over 123 contests. He's struggled a bit in August, batting .234 (15-for-64) with no homers this month.

Nick Pivetta RP | SD
Padres' Nick Pivetta: Dominant in Tuesday's win
Pivetta (13-4) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings to earn the win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Pivetta gave up a solo shot to Jung Hoo Lee on the second pitch of the game, but that was all the scoring the Giants would do in this one. This was the eighth time in his last 10 starts that Pivetta limited an opponent to one run or less, including each of his last two outings versus the Giants. The right-hander continues to look fantastic in a career year -- he's at a 2.81 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 154:38 K:BB through 147.1 innings over 25 starts. Pivetta will look to keep the good times rolling in a tough home start versus the Dodgers this weekend.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: On base three times Tuesday
Perdomo went 2-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Guardians.
Perdomo has embraced the speed element of being a leadoff hitter over the last week, going 10-for-30 (.333) with five steals and a 7:4 BB:K over eight games since he swapped places with Corbin Carroll in the order. Perdomo has logged three multi-hit efforts in that span. The shortstop continues to excel with a .289/.390/.443 slash line on the year, and he's added 22 steals, 13 home runs, 81 RBI and 76 runs scored over 126 contests.

Corbin Carroll RF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Shows off speed Tuesday
Carroll went 2-for-4 with two triples, one RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Guardians.
Carroll put his speed on full display in this contest. He drove in a run with a triple in the fifth inning, and he also swiped a bag after reaching on a fielder's choice in the seventh. Carroll hadn't hit a triple since July 29 versus the Tigers, but he's got 16 of them on the year after Tuesday, four ahead of Boston's Jarren Duran for the major-league lead. Carroll has added 27 home runs, 17 steals, 65 RBI, 84 runs scored and 22 doubles while slashing .253/.329/.559 across 110 contests.

Jake McCarthy CF | COL
Diamondbacks' Jake McCarthy: Lifts third homer
McCarthy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Guardians.
McCarthy has four multi-hit efforts over his last five games, and he's also recorded three stolen bases in that span. His homer Tuesday was his first since July 1 versus the Giants. The outfielder remains in a limited role as a fourth outfielder, as he hasn't produced consistently for much of the year. He's at a .209/.267/.351 slash line with three homers, 12 RBI, 12 runs scored and six steals across 43 contests.

Andrew Saalfrank RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Andrew Saalfrank: Back on track with second save
Saalfrank struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Guardians.
Saalfrank took a blown save in Colorado on Saturday, allowing two runs in two-thirds of an inning. He bounced back with a sharp outing Tuesday, needing just nine pitchers to retire the Cleveland trio of Jose Ramirez, Kyle Manzardo and Carlos Santana. It's interesting that Saalfrank got the nod for this save when fellow left-hander Jalen Beeks had pitched just once over the previous four days. Arizona's bullpen has turned into a full-blown committee throughout the year between injuries and ineffectiveness. Saalfrank has been a breath of fresh air, pitching to a 1.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB over 15.2 innings while picking up two saves and one hold. It's unclear if this outing is a signal that the 28-year-old will be competing for more save chances down the stretch, but he has taken care of business in lower-leverage spots to earn a larger role.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Takes no-decision against Cleveland
Rodriguez allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Guardians on Tuesday.
Rodriguez pitched into the seventh inning for the second start in a row, but he left with the game tied at 4-4. The veteran southpaw has alternated between good and mediocre starts since the All-Star break, allowing 17 runs across 36.1 innings over his six outings in that span. He's walked at least three batters in four of those starts. Rodriguez is at a 5.40 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 115:46 K:BB through 116.2 innings across 22 starts. His next outing is projected to be a tough one in Milwaukee, and given his volatility overall this year, he'll be tough to trust for that game.
