Daniel Schneemann 2B | CLE
Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Taking seat Sunday
Schneemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Schneemann started both ends of Saturday's doubleheader when the Guardians went up against right-handed pitchers, going 1-for-9 with a solo home run and an additional run between the two contests. He'll sit against righty Simeon Woods Richardson on Sunday, opening up room in the lineup for George Valera.

Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Resting Sunday
Kirk is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
Kirk will get a routine breather after he had started at catcher in the last two contests. Tyler Heineman will fill in behind the dish in the series finale.

Michael Taylor CF | CHW
White Sox's Michael Taylor: Idle after three straight starts
Taylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Taylor will hit the bench for the series finale after he had started in center field the last three games while going 0-for-7 with three strikeouts. Brooks Baldwin will step in for Taylor in center field Sunday.

Mike Tauchman RF | CHW
White Sox's Mike Tauchman: Idle against righty
Tauchman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Tauchman will get a rare day off against a righty (Michael King) after starting the last eight games. Dominic Fletcher will step in for Tauchman in right field and will bat ninth.

Will Robertson LF | CHW
White Sox's Will Robertson: Drawing fourth straight start
Robertson will start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Padres.
Robertson will make his fourth consecutive start -- all against right-handed pitchers -- despite mustering just two hits in 10 at-bats over the previous three contests. The 58-97 White Sox are seemingly in evaluation mode at this stage of the season and are giving Robertson an opportunity to prove he belongs in the big leagues, even though Andrew Benintendi is likely viewed as the team's primary option in left field heading into 2026.

Andrew Benintendi LF | CHW
White Sox's Andrew Benintendi: Seeing limited use down stretch
Benintendi is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Though he's not dealing with any reported injury, Benintendi will take a seat for the fourth game in a row as the White Sox wrap up their final homestand of 2025. Under contract through 2027, Benintendi projects to handle a near-everyday role next season, but the White Sox look content to use the remaining few games of the 2025 campaign to evaluate other options in the corner outfield.

Brett Harris 3B | ATH
Athletics' Brett Harris: Losing out on playing time
Harris is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.
Harris is on the bench for the third time in four matchups against a right-handed starting pitcher. With the Athletics bringing Max Muncy back from the injured list Saturday, Harris doesn't look as though he'll have a path to an everyday role in the final week of the season.
-
Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL
Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Taking seat Sunday
O'Neill is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.
O'Neill will sit for the second time this weekend as the Orioles continue to manage his workload following his return from the 10-day injured list Sept. 12. Since being activated, O'Neill has gone 2-for-19 with five walks, two stolen bases, one RBI and one run in six games.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Getting third straight start
Baez will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Sunday's game against Atlanta.
Baez will be making his third consecutive start after going 1-for-6 at the dish over the first two contests of the series. With Colt Keith (rib) recently landing on the injured list, Zach McKinstry will likely platoon at third base with Andy Ibanez for the remainder of the regular season, leaving Baez to handle shortstop.

Seth Lugo SP | KC
Royals' Seth Lugo: Done for 2025 season
Royals manager Matt Quatraro confirmed Sunday that Lugo (back) won't return this season, Jackson Stone of MLB.com reports.
Lugo landed on the injured list due to a back issue in early September. He was able to throw a bullpen session early this week but did not respond well. Quatraro explained Sunday that the injury is "not getting better quickly enough to do anything meaningful for him to come out here and force it." Lugo will finish his 10th MLB campaign with a 4.15 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 125:55 K:BB while posting an 8-7 record over 26 starts spanning 145.1 innings. There's currently no reason to believe that he won't be able to have a normal offseason.
